Seriously? How insecure do you have to be, that you have to wear a T-shirt telling everyone else you "earned" your ring? It's like a rich guy walking downtown yelling to everyone "I earned all my money biitch, hey you over there, I EARNED this, and hey you there, look at me, I EARNED this ROLEX, DONT LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT"
Come on man :facepalm
What is his message? That his ring was the only one that was earned? What about the past 40+ Champions? They didn't earn their rings? Dirk didn't earn his ring when he single-handedly defeated the tough west, and willed his team over a 3-star superteam? Did Dirk wear a T-shirt telling everyone EARNED NOT GIVEN the next day?
Such a move is simply a display of insecureness, because he knows the truth- he got it easy. Why else would he need to wear the shirt? When you got Rose and Dwight injured, fricking weak East, Wade and Bosh on your team, youngest finals opponent team ever.. you still have to tell the world you earned your ring? :oldlol:
Tell me why, Lebron fans? :confusedshrug:
PS: I know this pic, 2012 finals, and tshirt is old, but Nike came up with even more designs and I saw a variety of them in a Nike store today, hence this thread.

The most insecure superstars that Ive ever seen.. Even he wear that kind of pathetic shirt, everyone already knows he didnt earned that ring, in short it was given to him.. I never seen any superstar who do such douche thing like that.. Wearing shirt with MVP, check my stat, earned not given, etc.. LeBron really look pathetic by doing that.. Too much insecurity..

Anyone in your conference, the same confernce you are trying to win, who is a superstar player on a different team is a rival of yours.
A real man wants a challenge and wants to accomplish on his own. Taking the easy way out deadens the feeling of pride and satisfaction one gets after traversing a long difficult journey....it also lessens the legitimacy of te accomplishment as well.
As far as my avatar goes...does having an avatar of someone make you a fan of them?
My next avatar will be the priceless and foreshadowing picture of chris bosh holding a phallic object above his face with a whitish clear liquid oozing down as he grins in satisfaction

In head to head matchups since they were drafted Lebron won 13 games, and Wade won 9.
Don't make it seem like Lebron was just dominating Wade's team whenever they played, that's revisionist history at it's finest.

he DID earn it, though.
he played through the reg season
he beat 3 teams in his conference to get to the finals (needed 12 wins)
he beat the western conference champ (another 4 wins)
the nba just didn't give him the ring. he had to EARN it by beating every other team in his way.

LOL. Yeah, I'm sure it is a fact that no athlete ever wore a t shirt with a mantra on it after winning.
And I'm sure you have a video of every interview or media event that any athlete ever in the history of mankind did after winning a championship to use as evidence.
And an athlete verbally saying a mantra like that in a post game interview after winning would be the same thing...ie "man, this proves that when you work hard, great things happen" or "man, it's been a long year and we worked hard to get here". And I'm sure that's happened like 1,000 times.

Nope, none of those things you said are the same as what his shirt says.
Saying "This proves that if you work hard, you can achieve" in a post-game interview is VERY different from showing up in a national interview with a shirt that says "EARNED, NOT GIVEN". The first one you can quote as a motivational quote, you can tell kids about it, it's a good public statement. Lebron's is personal, it's his personal statement to the world, it's defensive and insecure.

Well if you are discussing this as a specific incident, then you can't use your claim that no other athlete ever wore such a shirt after winning, because no other athlete endured what Lebron had through the media from June 10, 2010 until that day when he won a ring.

He did earn to make it to the finals, but his title was given to him by his teammates and the officials in the finals. In the past, whenever Lebron shot like that in a series, his teams lost, but this time he had a ridiculous amount of talent around him and the refs with their timely "mistakes" that he didn't have to earn it. And for him to sit in a chair with that stupid t-shirt on like that's supposed to change our minds, is beyond pathetic.

He shot less than 20% from outside the paint in the series. I'm sorry but as a perimeter player and the best on your team, you shouldn't be able to win a ring while shooting like that, unless you are on a stacked team with the refs on your side.

It's stupid that so much attention is getting put into a shirt but even you have to admit that's a good analogy.. what kind of person wears something like that after just having won a championship, MVP and FMVP.. shouldn't his confidence be like on multiple steroids/HGH at this point already?
It's stuff like this that still makes me wonder about Lebron's mental fortitude.. i've never wondered about his physical abilities and at one point I really thought he would be the next MJ (look at his regular season and postseason games vs the Arenas/Hughes/Jamison wizards)
And maybe he's acting like a douche because half this forum only post to troll. You kind of have to expect some occasion trolling for even the most respectable posters on this forum from time to time.. it's almost like you can't help it cause you see so many other people doing it.

That's not necessarily true, if the team has a lot of shooters and he makes good passes that help him transcend his weakness then is not impossible for him to win. If Lebron had Bosh and lets say Ray Allen (09 version I might add) in Cleveland I believe he could won in 09 and 10 just because those two are what he needs in order to strive. Lebron is weak from the perimeter but basketball is played from a team perspective. And Lebron is a slash and pass kind of player and is one of the best I've seen since Iverson as he will pass the ball.

What percentage of OP's life is dedicated to thinking about LeBron James? At least 50%, right?

I don't know anything about the OP's Lebron thread habits, but I do agree, it seems a bit insecure to me to wear that shirt. But I'm sure it has more to do with Nike than Lebron wanting to wear it.
Having said that, I certainly think he earned it. He was in another world in the playoffs last year, it was really quite impressive. In crunch time, unlike previous playoff seasons with Lebron (which he's always been criticized for) he was a killer. Wade also played like dog poo save for a few games, so it's not like he was carried or anything. Bosh coming back and hitting a bunch of BS 3's against the Celtics certainly helped, but I don't take anything away from Lebron's playoff run to a titled. He certainly did earn it, but... I still the the t-shirt is lame.

Why all these douchebag t-shirts for Lebron? There are many champions.Have you seen same for other champions? They can't do anything if Lebron doesn't choose the wear that t-shirt. He is not a slave, he is the face of the brand.
Dirk wears "I'm that dude"... Lebron wears "Earned not given" :lol

:applause: :applause: Props for a lot of ISH posters including Lebron fans in this thread.. who can be honest, subjective, and see what an insecure move Lebron did instead of being blinded as a fan of him.. although there were still a few.. pauk etc..

he DID earn it, though.
he played through the reg season
he beat 3 teams in his conference to get to the finals (needed 12 wins)
he beat the western conference champ (another 4 wins)
the nba just didn't give him the ring. he had to EARN it by beating every other team in his way.
Agreed.
The man truly earned it by playing some of the best basketball in playoff history.
