I love it. It was pretty obvious from the start that Brown doesn't have what it takes to be a legitimate head coach in the NBA, but what really excites me is that Buss was willing to put his ego to the side and basically say, "Hey, I screwed up." Wasn't sure if he'd be willing to do that. I don't like Jim Buss, but it appears we'll be in good hands once Jerry fully hands over the reigns.

Again, this team was swept in 2011, with Phil Jackson. They struggled with the Hornets in the first round as well.

The upgrade from Sessions, Bynum to 39 year old Nash, and Howard coming off back sugery were greatly overstated.

It's not the same.

Every time the Lakers don't win a title, the organization and their fans expect to get like 1-2 more superstars on the team and they did this off-season by getting Nash and Dwight.

Every other team that fails to win a title don't have those same expectations.

on what basis? granted spo has NBA title.. but brown did excellent in his previous stints. He went to nba final, conference final with cleveland.. even led league in records. You can argue he had lebron, but dont you think if he had besides lebron - wade or bosh in cleveland he would have won a title much like spo????

lilgodfather1

This is funny news really. Before the season LAL were the defacto champs in their fans eyes, preseason didn't matter it was just a bunch of meaningless games that they didn't try in, and now the coach is fired, the PG is hurt, and the team is off to its worst start in over three decades. If there is in fact a god, and he isn't some biased Lakers nut swinger then they will lose 10 in a row. It would be fantastic to bring SVG in lol.

It would be great to bring in D'antoni, and it would be best to bring in Shaw because half of the roster has no idea how to play in the triangle, and the Lakers would almost surely lose a lot of games while they adjusted.

Make my Cavs pick better bitches.

Jim Buss is horrible. Offense was fine in principle. He had one game with the starting lineup.

What people don't realize is that the Princeton is nothing but a motion offense, like the triangle and the flex. Its not me offense of choice but out have to give it a chance.

Brown should not have been hired in the first place, so though premature in nature this was an inevitable outcome. I think it was NumberSix who put it simple and eloquently a week or two ago: "The Lakers won't win a championship as long as Mike Brown is the head coach.

The Lakers issues won't entirely go away. Their bench is still a lowly producing one, and defense remains a problem while Dwight works into playing shape. The offense truly hadn't been the Achilles heel as much as the defense, though it does limit Nash's effectiveness in regards to his strengths as a point guard.

Mike Brown was simply clueless. Lack of in game adjustments, atrocious rotations, and the opposite of an inspiring leader in the lockerroom. And such has been the case since his days in Cleveland. He was not a helping piece to a championship caliber team.

LeBron James was supportive of Mike Brown on Friday, hours after his former coach was fired by the Los Angeles Lakers.

James said Brown was given too little time (71 games overall) in LA.

“I just don’t think he got a fair shake, honestly,” James said after the Miami Heat's victory Friday in Atlanta, according to The Palm Beach Post. “With the shortened (66-game) season last year, five games into this season, he really didn’t get a full season. I got a lot to say, but I’m not going to say it right now.”

Deveney: Lakers' move sign of freefalling organization

Brown was fired after the Lakers began this season 1-4. LA blew out the Golden State Warriors on Friday night with assistant Bernie Bickerstaff in charge.

Reports on Friday said Phil Jackson and Mike D'Antoni are the top candidates to replace Brown on a full-time basis.

James' support of Brown may be a surprise to some. He was believed to be behind Brown's firing by the Cleveland Cavaliers, a charge James has denied. James told reporters Friday that he would try to get in touch with Brown.

Ok I'll admit I was wrong it completely slipped my mind that it has happened before and that it wasn't too long ago as well. With that being said it is still going to be a tall order for the Lakers to win this season with all the changes taking place. My belief is some continuity is needed for success to take hold but if anyone has the talent level to overcome adversity then the Lakers would be a good choice to follow some of those other teams that accomplished winning a title.

Lebron can't understand that Kobe has about a year left before his legs fall off?
Lakers can not afford to be patient with old ass players like nash, kobe, and gasol.
