I did an adjusted Michael Jordan statistic by removing his 2 Wizard years when he was 40played for fun, his 2nd year where he got injured and only played 7 games, and his 95 season when he just came back not having played bball in over 1 year.

and prepare yourselves, Michael Jordan's career average stats.

31.7 PPG, 50.8% FG, 33.1% 3FG, 84% FT

6.3 RPG, 5.4 APG, 2.5 SPG, 0.9 BPG

29.2 PER

fyi, only 8 other players in the history of the NBA have had a single season with over 29.2 PER, and Michael Jordan averaged that for his career. and he did it in arguably the toughest era defensive era

GOAT doesn't need stats to backup his status as GOAT.

Even the hardcore Kobestans don't try to argue against Jordan.

I love Michael, and I think he's GOAT, but what you did (remove season for injuries etc) makes your last statement irrelevant as I'm sure there's others with great stats as well if you removed injury seasons etc.

i said there are 8 other players with a SINGLE seasons per of over 29.2. Even if I remove other player's injury seasons their best single seasons will still remain the same.

I actually dont think its a bad idea to include his Wizards seasons. Only the GOAT himself could average 20-22ppg at the age of 39-40. His FG% was much worse than before, but still not too shabby. The fact that he played at such level at such an old age further proves how great he was as a player.

You can do what you did for many players though.

Considering the much better centers back then, many players with much better postgame and more than 10 less 3pointers taken, I can't see the deal with higher efficieny, and also it was not that much higher if you look at league averages.

Did you not see that horrible watered-down-syndrome era of NBA basketball? There was no such thing as defense. It was "offense" and "that other thing".

I swear to god if someone made a time machine I would go back and lock down Michael Jordan myself. Send his ass packing in the first round. 0 rings Jordan.

You can troll all you want but can you explain how he was still able to return and have some big games at age 39 (!), banged up and after injuries and years of basketball, in this era?

six cships in 1 decade is a pretty long peak to me, more then half a career for most players...

no u cant do that for alot of players, he dismissed 7 games which virtually dont change anything; almost no player has a comeback season, almost no player returns after retiring...

even if i dont like per, i think its very valid statistic to compare franchise players

whatever, he has the sickest stats but what makes him goat are all the things u cant count on the court...(just like bird btw)

Because leaguewide averages are based on tons of data and not just a handful of games.

PER is averaged out, so that the average player each year gets a PER of 15

so playing in a tougher era defensively makes no difference to your PER rating
