When told it was 71, Bryant said, "Holy s---. How many points did they score as a team?" Told 179, Bryant said, "That's incredible."

Bryant, who has a shoe that bears his "Black Mamba" nickname, has a theory.

"(Taylor) must have been wearing the Mambas, man. Only Mambas have no conscience to shoot the ball that much," Bryant said.

Kobe isn't really praising himself exactly though. He is also kind of poking fun at the idea of him being a chucker and having no conscience when it comes to shot jacking, just like this kid HAD to have had to shot that many times and score that many points. LeBron had "Chosen One" put on his back, that was his own arrogant decision. Kobe Bryant didn't start calling himself the Black Mamba let alone imprinted it on himself. Bryant was also nicknamed this after he achieved a thing or two, Lebron referred to himself as the Chosen One before he even entered high-school I believe.

So this Taylor guy did chuck up 71 threes but he still scored 138 points which is pretty fakin amazing. Shotjacking or not, scoring so many points it's a special achievement no matter what and as I see it, Kobe smartly and at the same time in a humorous way actually praises himself by linking this Taylor guy with Mambas(his nickname) even though it's about shotjacking. There's a bigger picture behind it and that's an achievement of scoring 138 points.

Let me ask you all this question, do you think that Kobe would still express his theory about Mambas if he was interviewed about the very same guy except that this guy would score 0 (zero) points on 71 shots instead of scoring 138 points? I really don't think he would be linking Mambas with such a failure in this case :lol
