He's always been a poser, shit leader, cry baby and douchebag. Nothing new about it, most of us know this. Look back on interviews in Orlando over the years. Dude never talked about how he could do more or what he did wrong. It was always "we" or flat out calling out teammates. Not the behavior of a leader or franchise player you want on your team.

Dwight is a front-runner. He doesn't want to deal with adversity which is why he wanted out in Orlando despite Orlando having a pretty solid cast around him.
I always lol and lol hard when people say Dwight's cast in Orlando was bad, because that supporting cast was very good especially compared to the likes of what other superstars had. The reality is that Dwight simply cannot carry a team. I would think Dwight would at least be the best player on the Lakers this season, but he hasn't even been able to do that.

He's sending the FO a message. If they can't get their shit together, he won't be staying with this mess. I think he's VERY unhappy with the D'Antoni hiring.

Yup that Orlando supporting cast similar to the 01 Sixers with Iverson was tailor made for Dwight. People acting like it wasn't good are full of shit. Lebron and CP3 had much worse squads in recent years. Same with Kobe in 04-06.

I'm glad he's letting them know he's not staying if they're going to run this like the mess they have been. Jim Buss needs to go. I'm sincerely worried that this tool is gonna be James Dolan 2.0 and the Lakers will become the western Knicks.

This is the new breed of superstar. From Lebron stringing the Cavs along the whole free agent process and then teaming up to form a team with his buddies to Melo openly flirting with the Knicks despite winning with the Nuggets now to Dwight talking about leaving the Lakers when he hasn't even played half a season. There's no more loyalty in basketball.

For me, it goes beyond loyalty. Its just flat out classless and tacky at times the way these players create such complete and utter turmoil with their mouths.
Is this dude serious? After the NIGHTMARE in Orlando, he comes out and says something like this, and DOESNT expect the media to hound him about it all season now? Jesus christ Dwight, STOP TALKING. :oldlol:

Come on, it doesn't get much better than what he has now. Hell, he's not even good enough to be the best player on his own team right now, so it's not like he's carrying a bunch of scrubs.

Some real :facepalm worthy stuff being said in here.
Dwight only had a good supporting cast if you compared it to other crappy supporting casts. His second best player was.....Ryan Anderson? Nelson?
It simply wasn't and was not going to be a championship caliber supporting cast unless they upgraded the talent tremendously.
Saying anything else is not being realistic of what Orlando had around Dwight.

The problem is that these guys fall for their own hype and marketing. They're so desperate to win a ring that they don't realize that jumping from favourable situation to situation doesn't guarantee rings or looked upon favourably in the grand scheme of things. It's pretty pathetic that they're scared of being the man on their own team. Dwight just needs to shut up and say no comment instead of being a self absorbed media whore.

meh i dont care....thats why I am a bit skeptical to trade Pau without knowing Howard's future....
Even with Howard gone....Pau can go back to his normal position and you have Kobe and Pau....with a Max amount Trade Exception... if they did a S&T to a team with CAP
this is the reason I want to trade J Hill instead and go get a stretch 4...someone like Derrick Williams...who is out of rotation and we know Minny wanted him in the summer...
to me Howard just doesnt come as a winner....

LOL that's taken way out of context. That same excerpt is in this article here
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/8699042/dwight-howard-los-angeles-lakers-orlando-magic-have-handled-trade-better
... while he said it upset him having to divorce himself from the Magic and the Orlando fan base, Howard, 26, said his decision to leave ultimately came to being where he thought he had the best chance to win. And Howard, who can become an unrestricted free agent in July, even hinted that if he didn't think he could win in L.A., he would move on from Southern California in the summer.
"You only get one shot. People might not ever understand that, but at the end of the day it's not their life. You can't let anybody else dictate how they want your life to be," he said. "I only have one shot to play and do something that I love. Not everybody is blessed and have an opportunity to do what they love.
"So I want to do it the best that I can and I'm going to take everything in I can to get what I can out of the NBA. Which, for me, is winning a championship," he added. "So if I have to play on another team or do whatever I have to do to get one, that's my goal. This is my passion, so I'll continue to fight."
EDIT: and the article on ESPN is from two days ago. No way that Dwight made these comments after the loss in Orlando. Unless the writers on ESPN have a crystal ball
Here's some more context
But Howard stressed that he holds no ill will to the city of Orlando or the Magic's owners, the DeVos family.
"Orlando will always be my home. That's where I grew up, really. The fans were great to me for eight years. I have some unbelievable memories," he said. "But like I told you guys when I got here, this is a new chapter in my life. This is my home now. And I'm looking forward to making a lot of great memories here."
Howard said he's kept in touch with the DeVos family since the trade, calling ailing 86-year-old owner Rich DeVos after he suffered a mild stroke in early September, and staying in contact with his son, Dan DeVos, the team's chairman.
"I will always be grateful. They gave me an opportunity, Rich and the rest of the DeVos family," Howard said. "They wanted me to come in, change the city and we did some great things, despite how everything ended. Our team and the organization, we opened up a lot of doors for fans and businesses around the city, with the new arena and all that stuff. We had some unbelievable years. There's no reason for anybody to hold their heads on what happened in Orlando. At the end of the day, there had to be a business decision."
Howard said he understands why fans in Orlando might have ill will toward him, but hoped with time they could forgive and understand why he requested a trade.
"It's my job to let people know that when you get traded or ask for a trade from a team, it has nothing to do with a city or the fan base," he said. "It's a business decision. Yeah, it may affect people because that's their team that they love and they want to see their team do good, but at the end of the day we only get one shot at this and I have to do what I believe is going to be best for me."
And afterwards he says this
When the subject turned to his new team, Howard's mood noticeably brightened, and he offered his strongest comments to date about the likelihood he'd sign a long-term extension with Los Angeles in the summer.
"From one to 10? I'd give it a good 12. I love it. It's been a lot of fun," Howard said. "Just everything here, from the practices, the motivation of everybody here is championship, that's what we need.
"I like the direction we're headed. We've had some tough losses but we'll learn and we'll grow from it. We're going to stick together."
As for Sunday's game against his former team, Howard admitted it would be "a little weird" but vowed not to let his emotions affect him.

Reasons Lakers have been losing?
Dwight's freethrows
Gasol's struggle
Team defense
Kobe being on and off
Dwight takes just as much on the blame. This dude does not know how to be a leader. All these kids are great ballers but they have no leadership. Bootcamp and military should be a mandatory stop before they come to the league so they learn about leadership, discipline and lessons in life first. They look like little kids with big bodies out there.

He's not going anywhere since no on else has a better chance at a title and LA can pay him the most money. Where else could he go? Atlanta? Dallas? Neither team is winning anything any time soon.
Also, he's probably thinking by saying this the team will feel some sort of pressure to move Gasol specifically so he can be the primary focus up front.
