In order, based on my preference. I mostly enjoy a good first-person shooter (preferably that involves realism) and a great action-adventure game. I am saddened that there is still no news on the next Uncharted game, but 2013 is by far the most intriguing year perhaps in gaming history. Plus they're announcing PS4 & 720 on E3 in Spring, so get excited gamers. Anyways don't be upset that I won't be listing games like Generals, Crysis 3 or any role-playing games. I just naming 15 games that I feel will blow our minds and that fit my interest as a gamer.

These games are in order...

15. Agent

Welcome to the city of Columbia. Floating amongst the clouds, cruising far above sea level, this is a place unlike any you've ever seen. Please enjoy your voyage...

The third game in the popular Bioshock series, BioShock Infinite breaks away from the underwater setting of the first two games to take players into a floating city held aloft by dirigibles. The game is set in 1912. You play as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former private detective who's picked up a new case. Your goal is to find Elizabeth, a young woman who's gone missing and return her unharmed. The only problem is that she's being kept on this flying city. Columbia was once a symbol of America's success as a nation, floating around the world as a traveling World's Fair, a marvel of human innovation. But strange things have happened since Columbia's unveiling in 1900, and now the city has disappeared into the clouds. DeWitt knows how to find it, but over the years stories have been told about Columbia having unlawful heavy armament and deranged citizenry. Do not expect this to be a pleasure cruise.

Is AGENT, "The Agency" that people at Sony were so ecstatic about at E3 a couple years ago?

I have a feeling that I will probably get GT3 and Tomb Raider. I've been following Tomb Raider and I really want that franchise to be revived properly. One of those games that used to scare the shit out of me as a kid.

I'm interested in AGENT though.

Good list and write- up. Cheers.

Is AGENT, "The Agency" that people at Sony were so ecstatic about at E3 a couple years ago?

No completely different project.
Agent has a website with no trailer, game footage or even pictures. Rockstar is their developer and it has a premise; that's enough for me to get excited.

They have been working on this title since 2007; it was announced on E3 in 2009 and still no follow-up. But look at GTA 5 and how hush-hush Rockstar were about leaking any info about the title.

They like to keep things quiet, I expect this game to be insane.

Anyway, the only sure buys are probably GTA 5, Watch Dogs, and Metro Last Light.

Excellent write ups.

For me, I grew up on Tomb Raider, and if I hear it's been done well, that would be great.

Beyond Two Souls: Frankly it's been a year since I played Quantic's Heavy Rain, and I still don't know if I liked it or not. I'd check out reviews on this. I'd possibly buy it if it rated well enough.

I've really enjoyed the Dead Space series so far. But I gotta say they do get to feeling a little monotonous. I'd buy this though unless I heard something terrible.

I heard really good things about that first Metro game. It sounds like something I'd like, but I gotta draw the line somewhere, and with the time I have to play, I usually cut it off at stuff that isn't AAA release type titles. It's unfortunate, but there's only so much I can do.

This is the first I've heard of Remember Me, and frankly it sounds pretty cool. But much like Metro, I just don't know if I have the time to commit to game by a company I've never played anything with, not Capcom, but Dontnod. But I'd certainly keep tabs on the reviews and see where they took me. The gameplay video looks awesome, and very much like it borrowed pretty heavily from the Assassin's Creed mechanics, so this would get a very strong maybe from me.

Agent, I'd say the same thing as most people ... it's Rockstar. I'd give it a shot for sure. But I was horribly disappointed with LA Noir, but whatever, I trust them enough to roll my 60 bucks worth of dice. I also don't think it's coming out anytime soon.

Grand Theft Auto V ... I'm already Pre-Ordered.

The Last of Us I'm also already pre-ordered on. I can't think any more highly of a video game than I do of the Uncharted Series, so once I found out these guys were doing this, it was an automatic for me. But then finding out it was a post apocolytic open world survival game ... I mean that's why I'm considering buying Metro, and that's a company I don't know and it's first person, so this was a gimme. I was under the impression it was coming out this year though. Frankly I'm fine if it doesn't, I'm still finishing ACIII, and I have Hitman on the shelf.

And Finally, Watchdogs. Much like above, I hold Assassin's Creed in extremely high regard, and with Ubisoft behind this, plus the 20 minute gameplay video I've watched, this is an automatic preorder for me too.

A lot of interesting games, not enough time. I'm definitely getting Splinter Cell: Blacklist, it seems like the story is finally going away from the whiny Sam Fisher of Double Agent and Conviction to taking-care-of-business Sam Fisher. I hope you're able to play much more stealthily than those two as well.

Watchdogs and The Last of Us were on my list as well but I hadn't heard of others that piqued my interest like Agent, Remember Me, and Beyond: Two Souls. I'll eventually play the new MGS as well but it won't be a priority.

Good thread.

I don't think any of you are interested in Patriots, Blacklist or Ground Zeroes?! I think I seen one or two posters mention these titles. I'll admit I'm not big on Rainbow Six or stealth games, but after doing extensive research on Ground Zeroes and Blacklist; I am almost as excited for those titles to come out as I am for GTA V or when Uncharted 3 was announced.

I believe all 15 of those titles will be AAA games, no doubt about it. 2013 will be the best year in gaming history (for modern gaming).

When God of War, Gears of War and BioShock take a back seat to 6-7 titles, you KNOW most of us will be broke all year round. :oldlol:

You know, I have pretty specific taste in games, and it'd probably be considered pretty old fashioned.

Basically, I don't really care for First Person Games. There are plenty that I like the concept. I do like adventure, and exploration, and frequently those games are best for that. I also like a lot of elements of RPG, like levelling up and upgrading equipment, but I so don't care for FP that I often pass games I'd like. I played Skyrim last year for example, but did it in the altered 3rd person view.

I also don't play much online. I do very much enjoy being online. I like trophy collecting. I like seeing global rankings. I have enjoyed a few co-op online experiences, mainly Red Dead and Uncharted. But the competitive online I just can't get into (maybe because most of them are FPSs, who knows).

And for much of this generation, those games were what was out there. But looking at this list, it feels like there are a lot more games in my wheelhouse, which is odd. A lot more narrative based, third person, single player designed, action/adventure, open world type stuff that I really dig. Could be a busy gaming year for me.

Rainbow Six Vegas was one of the hottest games on the 360 back in 06 and 07. Everybody who had a 360 was playing that game. It's one of the best MP games of all time imo.

Nobody really knows anything about Patriots right now. Last I read it was delayed indefinitely. I really hope it turns out good, because I love the Rainbow Six games. I don't think it will get the following that the first Vegas game had though.

I'd rank the games as the following

Only Must have: Last of Us
Probably will pre-order, or purchase after a 5-10 drop off: Watch Dogs
Interested in but not really anticipating: GTA V, Rainbow Six(I don't think this comes out next year), Beyond Two Souls could be here too. with Cliffy B leaving Gears I'm less interested in it, but will probably get it eventually.

games I want to be good but don't know for sure if they can bring me back into them, so will probably not buy: Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell. Bioshock especially falls in this category after so many delays. I WANT it to be great again, but 2 completely made me not pre-order this one, especially with their lame pre-order bonuses

Honestly for me 2013 is shaping up to be fairly disappointing. This year had so many great trilogies ending: Uncharted, Gears, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed. The start of a new Halo one, which was disappointing IMO. 2012>>>>

Man Sony is really starting to launch some new exclusives good on them. I may make my switch next year depending on how well they do their games.

Completely disagree.
GTA V, The Last of Us, Blacklist & Tomb Raider alone will annihilate any title released this past year. Honestly what was the biggest name to drop in 2012? Halo 4, BlackOps 2 and AC 3? I can't even recall.

Games like GTA V, The Last of Us, Watch Dogs, Tomb Raider have a chance to be the cream of the crop titles. All are AAA games. I am so confused as to how 2012 was better.

God of War is a monumental trilogy, same with Gears of War. Tomb Raider just looks spectacular. Then you have ambitious titles like Two Souls and Remember Me. I know Ground Zeroes and Agent (if released this year) will be revolutionary titles. Then you have possibly the most anticipated title of all-time (for modern consoles) in GTA V. The Last of Us being a strong GOTY candidate and is developed by the same team that (in my opinion) already created the best game of All-Time (U2 & U3). Patriots looks phenomenal as a shooter due to its incredible animations & Blacklist looks like the most fun Splinter Cell game to date.

Then you have another AAA game in Dead Space; Metro & BioShock.
Come on dude, you're joking right?
You have three of the most succesful trilogies in modern gaming history releasing a new title; plus Rockstar dropping two titles and Naughty Dog releasing a game. That alone triumphs anything 2012 has done.

Honestly, I bought Absolution, NBA 2K13, AC 3, Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 this year. I have never bought so few games. They were all great but nothing spectacular. Certainly none of them were on Skyrim, Uncharted 3 or Arkham City's level of 2011.

I remember seeing the next God of War game at E3, and it did not look one bit interesting. I'd be willing to bet Bayonetta 2 ends up being the better game. Hard to say about the next Gears since there hasn't been any gameplay footage yet, but it feels like they're milking the franchise on that one. I'm sure it'll be ok though.

As far as Last of us, is there a multiplayer mode? I figure most zombie like games do. Probably not. Ps3 exclusive anyway.

I'm looking forward the most to The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite, followed by Metro and Tomb Raider.

Looking at the list though, I really can't imagine anyone looking forward too much to the new Gears of War or the new God of War. Might as well put Call of Duty 2013 on the list then.

Also that game "Remember Me" has mediocrity written all over it. A rookie developer making a high concept debut game that attempts to feature the best mechanics from Prince Of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Arkham Asylum and other premier titles to be set in an open world no less and in a brand new sci fi universe? I'm not holding my breath.

Eh, I hope you're as pessimistic about every fiscal year. This statement is absurd, have you even done any research?

First off, God of War is only the second title to come out on modern consoles. Not sure why you'd think the developers are milking that particular franchise. They are creating a prequel, and the concept looks very interesting. I'll bet you right now, both games will receive an aggregate score of over 90. Gears of War looks awesome. The graphics look better, and the story looks refreshed. They're concentrating on two particular characters this team instead of the entire team. It's not a sequel. Halo Reach was a big success when it came out, so I don't see why the sudden pessimism towards these two titles? They will kick ass man.

GTA V is probably the most anticipated game of the last decade, if not all-time. What's the highest rated game of all-time? GTA IV (on PS3/360), yet this game looks like it will completely triumph the fourth installment.

The Last of Us looks phenomenal, like nothing I've ever seen before. Guess what? It's the same development team that created the Uncharted series, you seriously don't think it will be a kick ass game?

Then you have ambitious titles like Watch Dog, Remember Me and Ground Zeroes. An open-world stealth game? Helllooooo, how can you not be excited?

BioShock will be amazing, so will Tomb Raider. Just look at who is developing these games. Companies with a proven track record. You like shooters & stealth? Modern Warfare 4, Ground Zeroes, Blacklist and Patriots? If you've done your research, you'd know these shooters like epic, all of them. Not your typical theatrical trailer either. They've actually shown game footage and the animations look so realistic.

Fact is, all 15 of those titles could potentially grab game of the year. 2013 will be a special year for games because most of these titles look original.

GTA V - creating something new to its gameplay (simultaneously playing 3 different characters and a shit load of other amazing content)
The Last of Us - a survival game by Naughty Dog stretching across the entire United States? C'mon, these are the best developers in adventure/action genre out there.
Watch Dogs - one of the most ambitious titles I have ever seen in my life, this game has so much potential.
Blacklist - Looks absolutely bad ass, and how many Splinter Cell games sucked? If you don't like stealth games, that's fine...but gamers who love these type of games, are big fans of the Splinter Cell series and Blacklist looks like it will murk all the previous installments.
Patriots - best first person shooter (military combat) game I have yet to see, I won't even try to explain why I'm anxious to play this game.
Tomb Raider - looks as epic, if not more, then the Uncharted series...
God of War, BioShock & Gears of War? You're saying people weren't excited for the new Assassin Creed or Halo this past year? I'm suppose to not be excited about these titles because according to you they are just milking it now?
Agent? Rockstar, Open-World assassinations, espionage...come on, sounds so bad ass.
Remember Me? Sure, unproven developers. Halo 4 was created by 343 Industries and they developed a great game. RM looks very ambitious from the footage I've watched. It is at least an intriguing concept.

I'm sorry, I personally don't remember a year I was more excited then this upcoming calendar. I didn't even name all the games, I simply named games that fit my interest.

Don't be such a Debbie Downer.

I'm a huge Splinter Cell fan, and I can tell you that most SC fans feel that the series basically peaked with Chaos Theory. I found it super annoying when they made the series more about Sam Fisher and his sob story than the missions at hand in Double Agent and Conviction, not to mention the stupid sonar goggles that don't make any sense whatsoever.

I mean I'll still buy Blacklist like a sucker, but I just had to have a rant about how Ubisoft ruined a great franchise for the hardcore SC fans. :(

All I have on my mind for 2013 is GTA V and Injustice: Gods Amoung Us. Everything else, who knows.

Sweet gameplay trailer for Deathstroke on the upcoming DC comics fighter(Injustice): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVDqpsXAgLI

Green Arrow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1liO9UD9zck

I'm pretty damn hype for this game. Clearly ISH isn't big on fighting games, because I think this is the first mention in this thread.

I forgot about dust 514.

And is star wars confirmed to be coming out this year yet? I thought that was still rumored?

Yea I don't think there's anything official yet, wiki just says 2013.

Also if Valve actually releases that steambox this year, I'd probably be on board for that.

Only probable ones for me are NBA 2K14, GTA V, and maybe South Park & God of War.. not sure yet.

That chart makes it look like that Realm Reborn FF game is the only XBOX exclusive of consequence.
That's strange to me.

It's kind of how it's been since at least 08. Unless you like the Kinect and it's lame titles.

I have Infinite reserved. Even after Bioshock II I still knew I was going to get that game the second it was announced.

Other than that the only game I'm really planning to get ahead of time is Watch Dogs.

Other than that I will just buy games as they come along.

Looking at that chart, and based on what Namco/Bandai put out this year in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, I think Tekken X Street Fighter is going to dust Street Fighter X Tekken.

I might get that one too and I am a big fighter fan and the Tekken series is my favorite all time.
