View Full Version : The Return of Rubio

Can't help it. I'm getting pumped about Rubio coming back to the Wolves. IT'S GOTTA BE NEXT WEEK!!!

AK47 Pekovic & Love gonna be running lanes, Malcolm Lee and Rubio gonna be racking up some points!! Pek ain't the fastest center in the league but he's still plenty fleet and he makes a terrific tailman with Rubio on the break and Lee is a rocket.

That Wolf bench is real fast & hair trigger dangerous I mean Barea, Shved, Dante Cunningham Stiemsma & Williams PLUS when he gets back Budinger - talking about one of the deepest teams in the league! And there's real solid Luke Ridnour to throw teams out of their rhythm too

It's only been unending disasters of injuries otherwise that team would be looking real strong right now.

They may even be able to completely platoon this team because Barea, Alexey and Dante are total shock troops

WOW HURRY UP ALREADY RUBIO

Can't wait.

You mention Malcom Lee but I want to see what Him and Shved can do running some pick and roll.

The pick and roll with him and Barea was so dynamic last year, Shved should make it even more dangerous.

I still don't understand why the Lakers didn't sign him and signed Mike Brown instead:lol . Great signing by the Twolves.

If Rubio comes back and the way this team is playing I expect the playoffs. It's time my man JJ Barea comes back to the playoffs and kills teams from the bench like in 2011 again:rockon:

don't forget though Wolves have the Bulldozer.

Nicola Pekovic is way better than people recognize. So far that I have seen, he has been actually outplayed in 2 games out of his 2 seasons. Noah outran him in November, and Gortat outgamed him (I thought) last spring. That's it. Otherwise he has either played even, won, or dominated all his other matchups.
Now the Wolves have lost a lot of games but not due to Mountain Man of Montenegro.
Andrey Kirelinko, Nicola Pecovic & Kevin Love = awesome front court.

But I'm pumped ooooh YEAH

Shved for 3!!! Luke for 3!!! Dante Cunningham takes the alley oop from JJ!!

Rubio gonna be runnin' that Adleman-ized Princeton on their butts!!! With 2 REAL 3 shooters and the strongest Center in the NBA who can really run transition............ AND Mr. 5x5 himself AK47

rubio comes back vs mavs. awesome...
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/mavericks-timberwolves-preview-060110771--nba.html

"Rubio averaged 10.6 points and 8.2 assists as a rookie last season - figures that were 13.7 and 9.0 in three games against Dallas (11-12).

Even with Love playing a limited role Friday, Minnesota's frontcourt dominated. Nikola Pekovic made 14 of 18 shots for a career-high 31 points and Andrei Kirilenko added 21 and 11 boards.

Kirilenko has returned for every game of this win streak after missing four with back spasms. "He's terrific,'' Adelman said. "He's all over the court, and he's the glue of our team. He really is.''

A healthier Timberwolves team could make this task even tougher for the Mavericks, who fell 90-82 at home to Minnesota on Nov. 12 when Love was out. Pekovic had 20 points and Kirilenko added 16 and 11 rebounds as the Timberwolves held a 49-35 edge on the glass."

Kevin Love is the best rebounder around!! His all-round game is awesome.

I'm hopeful about this young team even AK47 is only like 31 or 32 and runs like a gazelle, him and Shved are working together great!!

Yeah this team is really scary.. no reason they should miss the playoffs this year.

Dallas has been a horrible rebounding team, are very turnover prone and a bad road team, and obviously no Dirk.. Wolves have the easy advantage over them tonight.

The Barcelona game I watched yesterday had the most scrubbiest players on them and they are atop of their division :oldlol: .

They have no athletiscm at all but you would atleast think they would be skillfull accordig to euroleague? Nope, players were miss handling the ball on simple dribbles out of bounds, none could finish in traffic, all they did was jack up 3's, it was awful.

First of all, Bobby Brown plays zero defense of any kind and he jacks up endless shorts on an extremely mediocre team. He's far from being anything nearing dominant.

First of all, Bobby Brown plays zero defense of any kind and he jacks up endless shorts on an extremely mediocre team. He's far from being anything nearing dominant.

Calling him dominant would be like calling you smart.

Second, he is about 50 times better in "scrub league" than Rubio was. Which just shows what a ****ing gigantic idiot you really are.

Rubio sucked in "scrub league".
Because in the scrub league he was playing with scrubs in a game of basketball that favors OFFENSE OVER DEFENSE. He's easily going to rack up assist in the NBA with good players that look like GOATs in the euroscrub league.

Euroleague is a POS shit league letting people like anthony parker (euroleague goat) win 2 mvps and Kirilenko win a mvp what a joke :lol :lol :lol

No you see the scrub league is the NBA, where his teammates on the Wolves suck much more than his teammates on Barca did. Because on Barca, he wasn't even god enough to close games or run pick and roll in the 4th quarter.

But on the Wolves, he's the second coming of Jesus.

That's because the NBA is the super scrub league. Where a 35 year old Euroleague has been like Prigioni can be in the rotation of an "elite NBA team".

Where huge scrubs from Euroleague like, Rubio, Jennings, Dragic, Neal, Lawson can become good players.

Hell even freaking Euroleague scrub Brian Roberts became relevant in the super scrub league NBA.

No not all since my point was the player with far the most points and averages the 3rd most assists in the scrubleague was a complete unknown scrub in the NBA who would never be able to put up anything remotely close the the number he has in the scrubleague in the NBA.

Other scrubs such as Sonny Weems and Keith Langord (who played D-league in the US) are the best scorers in the scrubleague, which just goes to show how much a joke of a league it is.

How come none of these euroleague scrubs could match teams in the olympics stacked with NBA players.

Cant be a coincidence that the 3 best teams had the top NBA players spread across them could it?

Vassilis Spanoulis the finals MVP of the scrubleague, averaged a huge 2.7 ppg on 31% fg.

He obviously thought the NBA was to easy for him looking at those incredible stats which is why he decided to go back to the scrubleague and only win awards such as Finals MVP and 4 all euroleague team awards.

That's always been the issue. The ability to pass and see the floor has always been there, but can he present a real offensive threat from distance?

Pre-injury, he was headed down towards 30%. Let's see if that's going to improve.

Glad to see him back. He makes the 'Wolves so much more interesting to watch.

Again all lies.

In Euroleague Rubio was the starting pg of the Euroleague champions and was 6th in the whole league in assists the year he was the starting pg for the Euroleague champions, all at the age of 19.
http://www.euroleague.net/main/statistics?mode=Leaders&entity=Players&seasonmode=Single&seasoncode=E2009&cat=Assistances&agg=PerGame

In Euroleague 35 year old has been Pablo Prigioni has always been a starting PG including two years ago when he was the starting pg of a team that made the final four. Every year in Euroleague he has had better stats and played more minutes than he is now in the NBA.
http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=CBX

Goran Dragic in his one year in Euroleague put up stats that are comparable to his best year in the NBA last year.
http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=THB

Neal and Lawson played a total amount of 7 games each in Euroleague. Neal played full seasons in Eurocup where he was selected to all-Eurocup 2nd team.

Even Brian Roberts was better in Euroleague where he was a starter, compared to the NBA.
http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=002091

Out of the seven players "Euroleague" mentioned 4 have been outright lies and have done better in Euroleague than the NBA while 2 of the others have not played enough games in Euroleague (7 each) to get a good sample (not like Spanoulis and his 31 games in the NBA)

The one player "Euroleague" is sort of truthful about in that he has done better in the NBA is Jennings and even he averaged 7.6 ppg in Euroleague when he was 19 and remember scoring is about half in Euroleague as it is in the NBA so he was still far from a "scrub". A scrub is averaging 2.7 ppg like Vassilis "scrub" Spanoulis did in the NBA.

You know I want to psychoanalyze "Euroleague". We all know he is a psycho-troll but why would he make up a blatant lie (which could be fact checked so easily) saying these players were scrubs in Euroleague when they weren't? In fact many of them were better in Euroleague than the NBA.

And I think it's jealously. While these players were not scrubs in Euroleague they were not stars either yet all of them have had good to moderate success in the NBA. While "Euroleague's" darling, Spanoulis, is a star in Euroleague but was an absolute failure/scrub in the NBA. How is must pain Euroleague to see players that were not up to Spanoulis level in Euroleague, surpass him while competing in the best league in the world. It just shows how Euroleague is geared for unathletic-slow players.

With the super NBA marketing machine people all over the world are getting to know and idealize NBA players like Rubio, Jennings, Dragic while for most of the world Spanoulis (if known at all) is only known as that scrub who got outplayed by Team Nigeria and/or was a total joke in the NBA.

Well I gotta conclude that Rubio is pretty much great on a court.

That would not have even been a game if Kevin Love had played.

Dallas is in T-Wolves rear view mirror.

Minnesota is real strong contender right now in the 2nd tier of NBA. Early days for sure, but there are several real things in their favor...... these guys play to win, and they play as a team. They have a top 10 center (I think higher but we'll see), a top 10 guard (I think higher but we'll see), a top 5 PF and they got Mr. 5x5 at the wing. Backed by real strong bench.. REAL strong. Strangely Derrick Williams has not had many minutes this season but yet with Rubio his game picked up instantly. I would like to see serious minutes of Rubio and Dante Cunningham.

The only real question as far as personnel is a good one.... Do we start that fleet young Malcolm Lee? Or fleet young Alexey Shved?

Now that is a good dilemma for a coach to have.

Beasley-Darko attitude is gone in the breeze!!! Rick Adelman rocks.

If not for injuries beyond belief this team would be looking strangely.... powerful.

I don't like Malcom Lee, he's reminding me of Wes. He's that unproductive.

This is true. What is also true is that the Euroleague has plenty of guys that are as good or better at passing as compared to Rubio.

But no NBA only fan on the planet allows this to be discussed. Rubio is only something "unique" in the NBA, where the ability to pass the ball died years ago.

Euroleague has plenty of guys with equal or better passing ability. Despite that I and several other European basketball fans here keep saying this, the NBA only fan trolls want this to be a site taboo.

You are the biggest clown in this site's history.

Go jack off to your fascist posters.

And Goran Dragic spent SEVERAL years in Euroleague teams. He was such a scrub that he was benched for whole seasons, and sent down to lower clubs. He also was a THIRD string point guard in Euroleague.

So once again, your level of pathological lying literally knows no bounds.

And I love your excuse for guys "only playing 7 games" and that BULLSHIT. Whenever a European fan said that guys like Macijauskas, Spanoulis did not get enough chances to prove themselves and did not have a valid playing sample YOU say, "because they were scrubs that were not good enough to play. They only played that much because they sucked ass."

But when a good NBA player sucked ass in Euroleague, you claim, "but, but, but, but, poor guy didn't play enough games, or get a chance."

You are a colossal douche bag of unparallelled proportions. Even for the typical Ugly American Syndrome sufferer, you are in a class all of your own.

Again lies upon lies upon lies. I am beginning to believe some of the posters here that you are really anti-Euroleague and just post all these absurd lies to make people have less respect for Euroleague and see it as more of a joke than it really is.

Here is Dragic's Euroleague stats.
http://www.euroleague.net/competition/players/showplayer?pcode=THB
As you can see he only played one full season in Euroleague when he averaged 9.7 ppg. Apart from that season he played a total of 2 games in Euroleague!!

Yes and 7 games is only 7 games. Spanoulis played 31 in the NBA and Macijauskas played 19. 31 and 19 are a lot bigger sample size than 7....sorry. I would say you need at least 10 games to judge a players performance in a league.

Sure his stats and shooting were mediocre ( they still are ) but the creativity and passing was always there. His defense is improving ( already one of the best defensive guards ) and no doubt his offense will improve too.
