View Full Version : It's BLATANTLY obvious that David Lee is better (much better) than Bosh

I won't even argue or ask anymore if Lee is better than Bosh. Last year I asked in a thread, is Lee better than Bosh? And I get roasted for asking that. But I'm just gonna come out and say that it's not even respectful to compare Bosh to Lee because Lee is hands down better in every single category, is more skilled, and has to face Western opponents every night. What I'm trying to say is that there is actually no debate. Deep down everyone who pays attention should not pretend that Lee is not as good as these types of players. Aside from a little bit of one and one defense and some length, Lee does everything much better than Chris Bosh. Am I going to get criticized again this year? Probably, but the truth is really obvious and don't embarrass yourself please just because he's Bosh. Why am I picking on Bosh exactly? Because he is one type of player at the PF spot in the East that makes the all star team every single year.
Who rebounds better? NO contest.
Who is a more skilled scorer? No contest.
Better passer? not even a question
I don't mean to sound blunt, but anyone who STILL disagrees with me is a moron, an idiot, a tard. Maybe I'm being cocky and arrogant, but I don't even think Bosh should be respected by a player like Lee, a superior player.
It's like Lee is better in every single facet of the game, Im sorry but you really can't say otherwise unless you're too close minded to finally open up to the fact that the world is changing and certain players and teams shouldn't be forgotten about. I'm the type of guy that accepts obvious facts instead of listens to the media. The simple fact is that David Lee is a better professional NBA basketball player than Chris Bosh. And I don't mean to single out Bosh. He is just one of many that I could say Lee is better than, okay?

ive only seen a couple gsw games this year, but am i the only person who thinks that lee isnt that bad defensively? people talk about him like hes a turnstile, but when ive seen him, he seems decent. he'll never be great, he just doesnt have the lenght, or athleticism, but he seemed to give a shit, an seemed to communicate pretty well.
anybody else think that hes actually an ok defender this year?
but yeah, he def been better than bosh so far this year.

Thank you Thank you!! I got roasted on last year. The warriors weren't winning so I looked like I had no credibility! But it turns out people are seeing that I aint so off afterall.
No Lee's defense is not bad. Sometimes people look at how he is limited in his length. He does play well team defense and is part of the reason the warriors are doing well. He is tall somewhat but doesn't have great length. And believe it or not, he is athletic, just deceptively athletic. The guy beats power forwards with his quickness. You won't see him doing Blake Griffin type dunks, but he is still deceptively athletic and physical. He just does everything right on the court and is a team player. However he might have been a little too dirty with Lebron tonight. I think it wasn't intentional.

yeah his athleticsm is deceptive.
i kinda feel like hes good athletically in ways that benefit offense and rebounding more than defense.
his physicality, he has a decent vert, but doesnt get off the floor very quick, and hes quick, but just not laterally.
so he can bang on the boards, and blow passed people off the dribble, but he cant move his feet laterally out on the perimeter very well, an cant really get off the ground quick enough to contest shots at the rim.
but just the fact that he tries defensively, alone, makes him decent imo.

Yea quick, but perhaps not laterally, I got ya. But he does have very good handles and he does spin around people very fast. With defense, he has the brains for it and he has the rebounding. Lee is the master for making up for his deficiencies.

Bosh could be the first option on a lot of teams.
He was. For a long time.
Seriously, though, both are big time:
Bosh: 18.5/8.3 and .540 shooting
Lee: 19/11.3 and .514 shooting
Lee has never shot less than .500 in his career. From the pure numbers, he is massively underappreciated.

As the No. 1 option, Bosh led some pretty mediocre Raptor teams...
Exception being the anomaly season where they won the Atlantic division and Sam Mitchell was Coach of the Year...

I would take Chris Bosh over David Lee. This isn't a discredit to Lee, because he is a great player , but Bosh at PF is way better than Lee. Bosh is out of his element right now being put in that center role and being the 3rd-4th option in Miami

what do head to head matchups from 2 year ago tell us about the players right now?
David Lee is a very underrated player and has always been, since his days in NY, which is strange because NYK players are usually overrated.
He might not be a shot blocker in any sense of the word, but shot blocking does not mean a good defensive player. He shows toughness when guarding opposing PF's and doesn't give up much ground, despite being a slightly undersized PF.
At the very least, Lee should be considered equal to Bosh.

Lee scores at better efficiency, but takes less shots and draws less fouls than Bosh.
Lee gets more rebounds than Bosh in less minutes, both offensively and defensively.
Lee is a better passer than Bosh and turns the ball over less.
The discrepancy in points comes from 5.5 more FGA and 4.5 more FT's per game that Bosh takes.

I loved David Lee in NY because he was an old-school Knick, hustling his butt off.
But his defense was atrocious. It's gotten much better because he's a smart player and the centers he's playing with right now (not Bogut) are playing good defense and Mark Jackson has established a good defensive culture and strategy.
He's still not a good defender and Bosh is a much much better defender. Bosh was always an decent defender but he's actually good right now and doing it at a position that isn't his. He's also much more dynamic than Lee is and I don't think Lee is a better scorer. Bosh has the better jumpshot and is better at putting the ball on the floor. He's also more versatile. But Lee has the better post game and is the better passer, and also great at running the floor. He's the better rebounder. But this is not clear and no one is a "tard" or whatever else for thinking so.
Add that Bosh has done it longer and has done it in the playoffs. Lee hasn't had that chance yet and it can't be held against him, but you can't hold it against Bosh when Bosh actually does produce there.
if they played each other more than twice a year this wouldn't even be a discussion

Lee is so good with either hand finishing around the basket and he's a noticeably better passer than Bosh.

Bosh is the better mid-range shooter and probably the best at his position.
Bosh is the better driver and goes to the free-throw line often.
Bosh is the better pick and roll defender and paint protector. He goes straight up on his block attempts rarely gets called for fouls.
Bosh is more clutch.
Lee is a better rebounder due to hustle and body size.
Lee is the better back-to-basket player.
Lee is the better playmaker.
Lee is probably the better man-on-man defender especially in the post.
I think the thing that separates both of them is that Bosh is more aggressive and mentally tougher. Physically, Lee is tougher, but I'm not too sure about his conditioning.
I'd rather have Bosh as my first or second option. If I have to pick either of them to be my third option, I'll take Lee as he's more of a glue guy.

So Bosh is somehow a worse scorer, because he sacrificed shots to come to Miami? Makes no sense to me.
Lee is a good player for GS but Bosh has a defensive impact that Lee can't compare too. He's a terrible defender. Think on this, Miami would not trade Bosh for Lee but GS would trade Lee for Bosh.

I liked Lee alot when he was a Knick. Double-double machine. I'll always remember Clyde reminding the viewer about 10x in every game that Lee was ambidextrous :lol
I still root for him, he was always underrated, glad to see him balling in GS and for them to be a winning team.
Bosh's length on defense gives him the edge for me. Bosh is very good at defending the ball screen. And at the end of the day, height and length matters.
Off pure basketball ability, it's close though.
David Lee is as good now as he was during the past three years, and as a good as he was on the Knicks. He hasn't changed one iota, the Warriors recent surge has nothing to do with David Lee.
Regardless of their statistics, Bosh is better at every single aspect of the game.

Lee may or may not be better than Bosh, but he has a lot to do with this surge the Warriors have been on. Lee is a great leader and sets a standard of working hard all the time even when you're losing with no end in sight. No doubt the Warriors came out strong after a tanking season because of D Lee's attitude.

GS would not trade Lee for Bosh. Bosh doesn't have the passing ability, the back to the basket scoring, the midrange, or even the rebounding. ON the other hand, Miami would probably be better having Lee than Bosh. It's almost politically incorrect in the NBA to say that Lee is better than Bosh, but the simple facts are obvious. Lee is not only better than Bosh in every single aspect, but beats him every time they match up.

He's not nearly as good a defender, can't put the ball on the floor the way Bosh can, is not as good a shooter as Bosh is. So, right there, you're not right.
Also, Bosh is more suited to leading a team. That's the big thing.

Because you act like he can't score on double teams. Sure, he's benefiting from the attention Lebron and Wade demand, but that also causes his touches to go way down. In Toronto he was every bit as dominate or more as David Lee as a first option

Same thing with Nash. I think we're now seeing the long term effects of a coach who thinks coaching defense for half an hour occasionally is sufficent.
