The argument is that I actually watched Brett play in the 90's and you haven't. He hasn't had much help when it comes to hall of fame wide receivers very little talent has come his way. But he makes everyone he ever played with better.

lol I haven't? You know how old I am now (26, btw, so I grew up watching Favre)? But anyhow...

That's great, but we need your direct comparisons here compared to the other top guys. To name a few (not going to deal with guys who played mostly pre-merger):

• Namath

Which of these guys does Favre have a case over in your book?
All of those guys. He is the best QB of the 90s. The toughest era of football. 3 mvps in a row and a super bowl with his best receiver being who?

So he's not arguably the GOAT, but arguably a top 5 QB. I have absolutely no problem with that. Glad to see we're on the same page.

Arguably GOAT of modern football. Best QB from 1990 until now. I'm not gonna argue over Montanna because I just don't know. But Favre is a better QB then Brady.

Maybe. All I can say as a Jets fan, is even a washed up Favre (though he was great the next season) was the best QB we've had in years.

The Jets have poor coaching thats all. Brett is like a butterfly you just gotta let him be himself. He might throw some interceptions but thats what you risk when you don't have a Jerry Rice or Randy Moss on your team. You make things happen and you take the good with the bad. The Jets didn't let him do what he wanted to do so he just left and had his most efficient season ever.

What do you think about the Sanchez/Tebow situation? Personally I'd love for them to say the hell with both and pick up Vick, but we both know that won't happen.

(BTW, what's your team?)

I'm a Lions fan thats why I know first hand the greatness of Brett Favre , lol. Every Thanksgiving that son of a bitch single handedly kills us. I think they should play Tebow. I like Tebow even though he isn't skilled for a QB. I think he would win more games then Sanchez. The Lions have been depressing this year after showing hope last year. They have lost a bunch of close games. Probably partially the replacement refs fault and bad luck/ lack of effort for 4 quarters.

That can be a bit misleading.

I imagine a lot the <15 FG attempts games could have been with Shaq, while the >25 FG attempts could have been with Smush, Kwame, etc. post-Shaq.

I know that it is not that black and white, and that there are too many variables to boil it down that simply.

I have no way of knowing how every game Kobe playing in went, and if his FG attempts affected the game positively or negatively so I won't pretend to.

But context is important when posting stats like those.

It will be a pure longevity record for his career.

He won't get GOAT player status because of that. Maybe GOAT volume scorer, if we want to divide things into different brackets.

That was a great game. Kobe was cold but hit it when it matter in the 4th and overtime. Your best player has gotta take the shots in the 4th and OT even if he's cold from the outside. Lakers gutted it out in that game. Props, Lakers fans.
