View Full Version : "Why can't I be MVP?" -Joakim Noah

I've been known by many names in my years, Goatkim Noah, Dirk Noahwitzki, Joakeem Olajuwan, the triple double king, the red tornado etc... but why can't MVP be one of them?

The guy has everything. The talent, the looks, the personality, the killer instinct. And he's anchoring this Chicago Bulls team that's top 4 in the East right now. But why isn't the greatest big man of our generation on the MVP ladder? What more can he do?

Because he's the 2nd best player on his team and 3rd when Rose is healthy.

Sadly this day an age if you don't dribble the ball up the court you aren't going to win MVP.

Kobe's #6 on the ladder, his team is 12-14. Bulls have the 4th best record in the East.

Noah is better.

Noah is better.

Nah

Andy could easily average as many if not more assists than Noah does if we ran that offense.

Bitches don't know 'bout his passing skills.

Granted Noah takes the edge in the blocks category regardless of offensive schematics, but that's all he's better at really.

Nah
Noah's definitely more important to the team this year, since Asik left. And that's pretty much unquestionable. He's the anchor and probably the leader of the team or at least it's vocal leader anyways without Rose. Hell he's probably the vocal leader with Rose.:lol

But better is subjective though. he's undoubtedly a better passer, and help defender. Deng is a better man defender by a bit though. IQ wise they're the same and Deng has a better offensive repertoire (which isn't saying much compared to Noah). But because he means more to the team I'd say he's better than Deng. just barely though.

And also the Bulls don't run an offense :lol

Varejao is a better rebounder than Noah, but that's it really. Noah is a better passer, defender and I'd say about even as far as scoring goes.

I disagree that Noah is a better passer. His assist numbers are a product of the system he plays in.

Andy is a stellar passer with amazing court vision.

Noah does almost everything better than Varejao does. Varejao wouldn't average as many assists as Noah does. Even if he's as good a passer (and he runs that pick n' roll remarkably well), he can't utilize his passing as a pinpoint. Noah can. Noah is also more effective running the ball. Varejao would score less in the Bulls' system and I think Noah would score probably more than Varejao if he was in Cleveland. Varejao is the better rebounder, but Noah is the better defender. He's the 2nd best defensive center in the league, in all likelihood (and the best of the season so far, just ahead of Gasol).

Noah is always overlooked, just wish he had a better PF to defend with. There are do many cases when Boozer blows his assignment/rotation like a statue and Noah has to slide and cover for his ass. The defense suffers and Noah gets that "ARE YOU ****IN KIDDING ME" look on his face after Boozer ****s up multiple times.

He should be an All-Star, that's for certain.
Forget about the double double, but 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals AND 2+ blocks a game? And the stats don't even tell the whole story, he brings much more to the table than numbers. He and Deng are pure winners.

Side show Bob is not better than Noah...

Noah is carrying this team on his shoulders and keeping the bulls above water. Let's not mention that he covers up Boozer's non-existent defense night in night out.

Theres a big difference between putting up stats on a losing team as opposed to a winning one.

Id take Noah over Varejo everyday. How many boards would AV get if he played next to Boozer.

Haha, I'm pretty sure that quote is made up folks.

Anyway, Noah would average more rebounds if he wasn't playing next to Boozer. I mean, Boozer is garbage at times but he's still a good rebounder on his worst days. Noah averages a double-double on a team full of decent rebounders.

Whoever thinks Noah isn't the best player on the Bulls right now hasn't been watching the games. The guy has been playing prime KG level defense IMO.

He'll never win MVP with that game though. Like someone else said, if Ben Wallace never won an MVP, Noah never will either. That said, he should be in the discussion for DPOY.

And Sideshow Bob plays next to TT who is averaging 7.8 RPG (in 29.5 minutes)

Zeller also averages 4.9 in only 22.7 mpg.

Are you really trying to say Varejao is not an amazing rebounder and that his stats are inflated?

For the record, I am not trying to diss Noah here. I do think he is a very talented player, but I don't think he is better than Andy; not even @ passing, regardless of his APG.

It sucks that the only thing that stopped him from winning the MVP was an injury.
