It was too many games to take in for me last season. No time for Minny. This season I've been all Houston Rockets.

he finished strong, but mostly he just moved well without the ball and OKC defended him crappily.
He's pretty good and old school and tough on offense, good footwork, but on defense he is not that good at protecting the rim

Well, I don't think teams can afford to double team him and leaving likes of Kevin Love open...
He is in a great place to succeed right now, and when he improves his game further he could be a legitimate first option on a non-contender.

Now watch, gabepizza will make about 500 posts that are super long, where he will make up a bunch of stuff, post a bunch of meaningless awards that have nothing to do with this, and then post a bunch of stats that are not even related to this. Then he will say, "I just PROVED I was telling the truth".
Because we all know that guys that average 13 and 4 are clearly "much more of beasts" than guys that average 16 and 8.
Especially considering that according to gabepizza, the NBA is about 100 times a higher level league than the Euroleague.
The delusional, crazy, insane, irrational, illogical mind of gabepizza, where averaging 13 and 4 in the "vastly inferior scrub minor league" is being "much more of a beast", than averaging 16 and 8 in the "vastly superior and super athletic premier elite league".
By the way, those quotes are taken from gabepizza's own words.
So understand this,
1. gabepizza claims the NBA is 100 times a higher level than the Euroleague.

?? Lot of double doubles in that run and don't forget Pekovic was DNP himself 2 or 3 games with a turned ankle.
He only reached double digit rebounding three times in November- when Love was out most of the games. 3 double double's...not a lot. He's not a good solo rebounder; needs to play off Love because Love get boxed out by multiple players.
Pek's a good player but he's one of those who just plays off their team's star player(s) really really well. Not really a guy who can hold his own.

Again with lies, lies and more lies. But this time instead of outright lies Euroleague goes more of the twisting of the truth by leaving out the truth. Euroleague does this often, saying so and so only averaged such in such in Euroleague but is now averaging such in such in the NBA and using those stats that to make a point, not ever including the huge asterisk * which goes in front of all Euroleague stats compared to NBA stats in that all stats in Euroleague are a lot lower than NBA stats so to say "see so and so is doing better in the NBA" by comparing NBA stats to Euroleague stats is just straight trolling.
Pekovic's 16 and 8 in the NBA put him 44th in scoring and 37th in rebounding, while his 13 and 4 while playing for the Euroleague champions put him 15 in scoring and, well I can't find his rebounding rank because it was not top 31, but still in the NBA he is 44th in scoring while starting for the Euroleague champions he was 15th in scoring. Therefore I can say without question, even though Pekovic is beasting in the NBA, being 15th in scoring in the whole league while starting on the Euroleague champions, he was more beasting in Euroleague.

Yes, that's the main reason why Euroleague stats are, on average, a lot less than NBA stats. NBA games are 8 minutes longer so the players have almost a whole extra Euroleague quarter to pad their stats.

Tyson Chandler has never been a great defensive player. His defense is almost all hype and imaginary. He's a good team defender, and good at blocking shots from the weak side off the ball.
His man post defense has always been absolutely atrocious. He probably could not have even played in the NBA back when a lot of teams had good offensive centers.

Granted.
Today's league, in the main, plays a 2/3 game with no center at all. What I said about Chandler stands, within that context.
This is exactly why I love Nikola's game. He is a true center, one of the very best I have seen in so many years.
My little circle of hoops friends goes way back, to the days of Willis Reed and Wilt Chamberlain, Russell and Lew Alcindor and Wes Unseld. We all have been very unhappy to see the direction of the NBA in the last 10 or 12 years. The real game is in the paint. All these three point shooters, these pathetic little guards who drive the lane with perfect impunity and can't be touched, the arrogance of the NBA making that idiotic little defense-free zone around the basket - it makes a mockery of what basketball is supposed to be. A centerless league is like a ship without a rudder. It's like a cartoon league.
Book it as one of Fresco's rules: The center is the soul of basketball.
I feel extremely grateful to have been the first of our little group to have seen the ability of Pekovic's game. When I pointed him out, every one of my friends recognized him instantly as the real thing. I hope to watch him for many years and wish him every success.

vs. Orlando 19-12
vs. Heat 18-12
vs. Knicks 21-17
vs. Thunder 24-10
vs. Houston - sick that game (very obvious) and played just 23 minutes
vs. Phoenix tonight 28-11
shooting right at 50%
Doesn't matter if it's elite teams or dogs, he is putting them up.
By the way, when did they bring enforcers back to the NBA?
That clown Tucker on the Suns tonight tried to bulldog Pekovic when he was up in the air. Pekovic just shrugged him off, and Tucker crashed to the floor looking stunned. Pek looked at him like you would look at a used kleenex and went to the line.
It kinda looks like the Wolves figured out that they should use paint ball late in the 4th Q because Nikola had 4 points in just a few seconds and that totally destroyed Phoenix rally
His defense is improving almost every game, his problem earlier in the season with rotation is gone. This guy is for real, one of the best centers in the NBA and if he gets any kind of roll on he's going to be great.
