Okay so I have uTorrent but it's only really good for albums/discographies. It's been many moons since I last used Limewire, Frostwire, bearshare, Kazaa etc.

How do you go about doing this?

Download the album the song is in using utorrent and then delete the rest of the songs if you don't want them.

uTorrent lets you pick what parts of the album you want to download, mano.

I do this with Discography torrents all the time. Say someone has a Metallica discography with a ton of live shows on it and I only want a couple of the shows on there, or even a few of the songs from a couple of shows. uTorrent lets you surf through the entire torrent to choose which parts you want to download.

Right when you open the torrent, uTorrent should pop-up a window that lets you choose the directory you want to save it to before you actually start downloading. Scope out the big white box (heh heh) on that window and if you hang out on that screen it'll take a few moments to load everything that's in that torrent. Then, as if you were in a Windows Explorer screen, you can hit the + and - boxes and check off the parts of the torrent you actually want.

Did this recently with a Deftones discography because my copies of Adrenaline and Around the Fur are scratched to shit and won't play anymore.

I usually just type into google - 'free download and the name of the song' bunch of sites pop up..pretty easy and it works.

I usually just search "song name" and the download in google and find something that way. Or download it off youtube and convert to mp3, no quality lost from the original quality of the video on youtube.

Usually everything I want is on YouTube so I just download songs from there.

If you actually care for music quality, bit rate and such, then go to

http://rutracker.org/forum/

If you just want the song quickly, then just simply Google the song.
