DH is WIDE open for a right hook. But Kobe's feet are too wide to throw one with any power anyways...so I guess he's got nothing to worry about.

That's a Jeet Kune Do stance.

Kobe did some JKD back in the days. Notice it's a southpaw stance and Kobe's right handed.

The intercepting fist.

Good eye. I recognize the southpaw stance (hence right hook) but wasn't thinking about Kobe being righthanded for some reason.

So you're saying it's common to use an opposite stance in JKD?

Allstar24

Dwight tweeted about it too:

Dwight Howard ‏@DwightHoward
The re match lol. http://instagr.am/p/UMmlu7qi6D/

This should shut up the media and internet trolls. Looosers. Kobe should use twitter more often for this...classy way to address rumors and make the so-called reporters look foolish.

Bruce Lee always said you want your dominant hand coming out faster. Hence, why this stance is used by him. He was a proponent of speed. He said speed is what causes power. So your stance should always be opposite.

Since his most powerful hand is his right hand, that's for the reasoning for the stance.

I'm not a martial artist but I have read his books on this.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: It is also said since you use your strongest hand and leg, you want to be closer to your opponent with it. Supposedly, a roundhouse kick is to slow, so using the sidekick will help in this instance.

- Kobe actually has legit hands(after 03' he took up MA and Boxing).....and his stance shows if he pivots on that lead leg to throw a Kick he could do major damage....especially to Dwight( who looks akward and keeping his hands to far away from his chin)

- Kobe could prolly train and be a legit Title contender for the UFC LHW belt...considering his athleticism / reach and work ethic

awww....***** how great is our Gawd...

I still don't doubt they had an actual argument about how the team is going. Doesn't mean they hate each other though, just competitive differences.

I was going to bring up that video but you beat me to it.

I know I would have gone to sleep and many would have been knocked the F out after getting hit like that.

Defense is half the battle and props to Mamba for being able to withstand that punch. Look how his head and face jerked back and he was still standing. The man has got a crazy jaw.

I would have went night-night.

I agree.

First it was Kobe got his butt kicked by Childs. Any normal man would have been knocked the f out and props to Kobe for his defense. Taking punches is half the battle.

So now....it's those were weak punches by Childs.

Childs was 6'3 195 pounds of pure muscle with elite athleticism and quick hands, Mamba with the goat composure, he did JKD you know he could have knocked Childs the phuck out if he wanted to but he didnt want to risk suspension. 1337 selflessness, sacrificing pride for the good of the team.

Do you know what defense is? Obviously not.

Defense is protecting yourself...not standing there like a deer in the headlights, while some guy flails wildly at you.

Kobe's reflexes are clearly below par.

9erempiree

Do you know what defense is? Obviously not.

So suddenly your jaw cannot defend you from getting knocked out?:applause:

Look at this jaw line, you can't say it's weak and prone to getting knocked out.

If you are going to try to knock out a world class specimen like Kobe, you have to hit him in the button and not that strong jaw. Look at how big and the thickness of it.

Now let's compare it to a guy that got into many fights back in the days and was knocked out. Notice the droopy mouth and chin. He was very prone to getting knocked out.

Rudy T is another example of weak jaw.

Gawdbe called Barnes bluff, a lesser player like Roy or Aldridge would have flinched and cowered, Kobe has learned to overcome his flinch reflex, that's how he is able to finish so well at the hoop despite heavy contact.

No. Kobe just understands Barnes isn't really going to hit him in the face with a ball right there on the court.

Dear Kobe Stans or to whom it may concern...

Will you gentlemen please show some empathy for all other non Kobe stans and try to decrease the rate of making a thread in a NBA Forum for every single tweet Kobe makes, this is the NBA basketball forum afterall, not a Laker/Kobe forum/subforum... its just procrastinating because we dont find all this as captivating as you do (unless it really is something worth of articulate discussion), if you still refuse to comply then please consider a speculation of perhaps adding microscopically higher usage% of the ISH Laker subforum or other Laker site forums like here: http://forums.lakersground.net/viewforum.php?f=1 or here http://lakernation.com/forums/ instead... i am sure you will find only praiseful users there upon you no matter how much Kobe jockstrap cruising is in your exhibition...
