I don't know if stats can really determine who's having the better season because the Rockets are blowing out teams on half of their wins anyway.

Harden sits when his team gets a 10+ point lead late in the 4th. Kobe would still be on the the floor majority of the time.

Plus, Harden is taking 5 less shots per game in spite of having Lin as his #2 option. Kobe is still jacking up 22 shots a night with Dwight. It should actually be the other way around. Harden should be taking more shots b/c of Lin's shitty offense. Kobe should be taking less shot b/c he has the best center in the league, or at least he(DH12) was until he showed in LA.

P.S. 21-14 with Lin, Asik and Parsons as his supporting cast.

Compared to under .500 with Howard, Gasol and Nash.

I never see anybody posting Lin > Nash, or Asik > Howard, or Parsons > Gasol so I doubt Harden has the better supporting cast.

Like it or not, the Beard is carrying a former third-stringer and an overpaid + overhyped former undrafted benchwarmer, and a skinny whiteboy. While Kobe has 3 former All-Stars(incl. two soon-to-be HOFers) as his teammates.

Yes, but the Lakers aren't defending.
Offensively, LA are just fine. You're saying Harden is better then Kobe because his team has a better record? Kobe has better stats, has played better this season; has been more efficient then Harden. It's a team sport, LA are struggling because of defensive woes.

Individually, Kobe is having a better season; any idiot can see that.
Houston beat LA in their previous meeting when Harden shot 3 for 19 and Kobe scored 39 points for LA.

One of the reasons. I already stated why Kobe has more PPG in the post prior to the one you quoted.

And yes, team record is also a factor to individual statistics when it comes to ranking. If it wasn't then Kevin Love would have finished in the top 3 MVP voting in the past two seasons.

Right now, Harden has a better chance at MVP than Kobe does.

Harden was blowin by Kobe with ease. There was 5 plays where he tore Kobe to shreds off the dribble. One was where Kobe got physicall and Harden finished an and 1 with one hand. 4 more where he just killed him off the dribble and blew by him .After that Kobe never guarded in the second half.

Harden has pretty much destroyed every big name wing defender this season. Ony guy who gave im trouble was Tony Allen in Memphis and in the return bout in Houston Harden destroyed him.

Anyone who talks about Kobe's PPG average compared to Harden's is an idiot, look at their record and look who's leading his team to victories compared to who's not.

And Kobe is putting up the stats but then compare it to the actual wins and consider the fact that he's playing with Nash, Pau and Howard.

Overreaction thread. Kobe is and will remain better than Harden this season and possibly next (I said possibly...Harden does have youth on his side). Kobe was clearly the better player their last meeting....yet you guys don't care. Kobe has had the better individual season hands down. Team success? Harden for sure. L.A. is struggling as a whole. We have one of the best offenses in the league, and among the very worst defense in the league. And while Dwight and Pau are out, Kobe will just be playing with Nash/Artest and a bunch of D-Leaguers.

But why after playing in the league for 17 years when you have an HoF squad, do you not want to play smart ball. Shooting 40 times a game while leave your HOF teammates high and dry, not play a lick of defense and expect others to cover all your mistakes...

MJ did those in the 80s coz he knows his team had no chance of winning its all stats padding and fame gathering first. Kobe did this with Smush parker era people have no problem. But now?

Iggy yes. Batum not so much. Iggy can stay with him off the dribble Batum cant. Iggy gave him some fits, but that was the sametime he was going through an adjustment period where he was getting used to teams throwing all their defensive sets at him. Tony Allen gave him fits as well in their first meeting at that time, but Harden tore him in the next bout during his current streak.

He has clearly adjusted now to teams zeroing on him.

It's not comparable. Kobe plays under enormous pressure, Harden is playing under essentially none. Kobe will be declared an enormous failure this year if things continue like this, Harden doesn't even need to make the playoffs. If Harden has a particularly bad game, he doesn't address the media that day and just leaves. It's not comparable at all. If you put Kobe in a situation and said "no pressure, if you lose it's ok, just put up numbers" what would he do? We've seen it before.

Kobe shots more and higher usage. But harden is more efficient with higher TS%.
Harden is trending up since mid December and Kobe is trending down, do not be surprised in a month Harden is 24.5 and Kobe is 24 Per. Kobe is old, as season goes on his per always comes down also.

Harden and Kobe both likes to turn defensive possessions off. The thing is when game gets tight Harden can turn it on, Kobe does not have on switch anymore.

I do not hate Kobe, I think he is legendary but he is not playing smart and winning basketball.

Combined 3 games between Kobe and Harden this season:

Kobe: 81 pts on 44% shooting, 22 rebounds, 20 assists, 8 steals, 0 blocks, 11 turnovers, 111 minutes

Harden: 66 points on 38% shooting, 18 rebounds, 22 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks, 13 turnovers, 115 minutes

All I know is that Harden is a scoring machine that is incredible in transition, can take people off the dribble, has range, sneaky athleticism and not only that but is one of the best non PG facilitators in the league.

He is the biggest reason for the Rockets' success though Lin has really picked up his level of play the last dozen games.

Harden is a far better player than I expected. I knew he was good in OKC, but didn't know if he could handle increased minutes and defensive attention.

Out of control drives, do you even watch basketball the reason he gets calls is because he is completely under control and has one of the best if not the best euro step in the league you can't guard him going to the basket without fouling or giving him an easy look.

You're so pathetic, you 40 year old korean virgin.

1. You're korean and koreans are the most suicidal people in the world.
2. You're korean, korean male's have the smallest ***** in the world.
3. You're a sucker, you have been here for 6+ years with multiple accounts and you've been permbanned at least 2 times and still you come like a sad dog craving for attention. And you're a grown ass virgin man living at home while working at your dad's autobodyshop.

You're the same idiot who cried out 5 years ago on ISH about how you were going to leave, hell, you even wrote a good bye post and you followed up your good bye post with yet another edited good bye post.. :facepalm

You're sad as hell..

And what exactly do you bring to the table?

Nothing at all, he is the most banned poster in ISH history;

Smokee - Perm-banned
Poodle - Perm-banned
Godzuki - banned multiple of times

Then he had two more accounts a la "Broomhilda" and "Budaas", and on top of that, the guy is is a grown man who's working at his dad's auto body shop. The guy with two perm-banned accounts and in total 5 accounts is trying to call me out..

Yeah lets just go by one game, or how about 2 games?

The first 2 games of LAL/HOU

11/18/12
Kobe 22/11/11 on 50%
Harden 20/2/7 on 39%

12/4/12
Kobe 39/6/2 on 45%
Harden 15/10/6 on 16%

considering the fact that kobe isn't even playing it really doesn't matter how poor harden is playing

By not playing Kobe isn't hurting the Lakers chances. Harden meanwhile....:oldlol:
