Damon - Hilarious. Funniest to me

Keenan - Likes someone else said he was more behind the scenes funny. Something about him, maybe his look, always made him less funny to me on camera

Marlon - Used to be hilarious but started doing more serious roles. To me by far the best actor in the family when he tries. Still good at physical comedy

Shawn - Hate 'im. Not funny at all.

ISH can be so wack at times.

The sketches the older bros did on In Living Color are legendary. No need to even address anything else they were associated with after that.

Damon Wayans is :pimp: Oldest brother was damn funny too from what I remember.

If you're addressing the younger ones and claim they "over-do it", I would say you're entitled to your opinion, but yeaah you can't go include Damon:coleman: Way too many good characters on In Living Colour.

I like the younger brothers and some of their movies have been alright, but they've been in some horrendous movies as well.

Didn't get to see too much of their sitcom, being in Canada and all, but I loved who they casted as their dad. Fculkin classic I tell you...what's that dudes name? Guy from Friday...

Keenen (and Damon too) is one of the most respected dudes in comedy. He started his comedy career in NYC in the mid 70s were he met another amateur at the time, Eddie Murphy and they became close friends to this day. They've known each other since both were poor in the projects. Both were considered the 2 best young black comics working NYC in the late 70s.

It's amazing how both got developmental deals with NBC at the same time in 1980. Eddie went on to much success with SNL and Keenen was cast in a pilot called Irene that went no where. He played a basketball player for the New York Knicks.

Irene pilot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_jgh9noo9E)

Eddie's career skyrocketed in the early-mid 80s while Keenen couldn't get any major roles except for a few things here and there. He wrote a film about young black actors struggles in Hollywood called what else 'Hollywood Shuffle' with their other friend Robert Townsend.

Around that time, Damon started doin stand up and Eddie gave him a small role in 'Beverly Hills Cop'. With help from Keenen and Eddie, Damon became Eddie's replacement on SNL.

Technically, Keenen and Eddie have only collaborated once, on Eddie's concert film, RAW. Keenen wrote the opening sketch and produced the film. But everyone in the comedy world knows Keenen wrote material for Eddie here and there. This was in 1987.

Without Keenen Ivory Wayans, there is no Damon, Kim, Shawn, Marlon, Damon Jr, Damien, Craig, Chaunte and which ever Wayans is in the business.

Not only them, Jim Carrey who knows where he would be. Jim had been around for sometime. He actually auditioned the same year Eddie did for SNL. He didn't make the cut, he than acted in a bunch of B movies in the 80s until he hooked up with Damon on Earth Girls are Easy. Damon introduced him to Keenen and the rest is history.

David Alan Grier was a dramatic actor working the theater until he met Keenen in 1982. Keenen said he'd too funny not to be doin' stand up.

He ran into Tommy Davidson in 1987, fresh out of DC. He seen him performing in a club and told Robert Townsend and Eddie you gotta see this young boy perform. Robert put him in an HBO special, Eddie cast him as Prince Akeem in a pilot for a Coming to America series and Keenen made him a star on ILC.

Keenen witnessed Jamie Foxx win a comedy competition in Oakland and put him on In Living Color.

Little known fact, he somewhat discovered Jada Pinkett.

Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Ann Inaba dancers.

Other comics he discovered, Alex Thomas, Chris Spencer and Suli McCullugh (all from Don't Be a Menace), Waymon, the gay dude from A Low Down Dirty Shame.

Keenen is the highest grossing black film director of all-time. Scary Movie is the highest grossing film by a black director all time.

I think Damon still could have made into comedy without Keenan. Damon was definitely the most talented, he had a natural knack for comedy. Damon was also a decent actor overall.

True, he is a funnier stand up than Keenen.

But who knows, maybe he doesn't venture into stand up with out him seeing Keenen being somewhat success and being a friend to the hottest stand up at the time Eddie Murphy.

Damon was a trouble maker when he was young. He dropped out of school in the 10 grade, the the movie he wrote, Mo Money was real life. He said he worked as a mail boy and was stealing everyone's credit cards and got into some serious trouble, lol.

Shawn isn't bad. He isn't a talented actor, but he has his moments. He is just better at playing awkward characters (Gay Ray/Ice-Trey). Agreed about Marlon. Incredibly talented actor.

Kevin Hart is mid-level funny. If Hart was around when stand up comedy ruled the world in the 80s and early 90s, he would not have made it. Really, in this day and age, he has no competition.

If he was out when Keenen and Damon were at itback in the day, not to mention Murphy, Rock, Kinison, Dice Clay, Sienfield, Tim Tool Time Allen, ect, he'd have no career.

Hart is not even on a prime Tommy Davidson, Bill Bellamy or Jim Bruer level.

Kevin Hart is a horrific standup and has the habit of appearing in very bad movies. Hart is at his funniest when he's on the radio with someone like Opie and Anthony.

Jesus! How many Wayans are there?
First Generation:
Dwayne Wayans = contrary to popular belief, he is actually the oldest Wayans member. Now he got his job just as being a brother. He was credited on In Living Color as "production assistant" and played a dead guy in a casket during a funeral sketch.

Keenen
Damon
Kim
Shawn
Marlon

Their are four more girls, who don't really do anything.

Second Generation:
Damien Dante = Son of one of the girls. You've seen him in Malibu's Most Wanted, Major Payne and directed Dance Flick and The Underground
Damon Jr = Happy Endings.
Craig = Dance Flick
Michael Wayans = Damon Jr's brother. Doesn't act as much as the first 3 mentioned. Dates or dated Rev Run's daughter.
Chaunte Wayans = Damien's sister. Stand up comic.
Dwayne Jr = Music producer. Made music for My Wife and Kids, The Underground, other various Wayans projects ect.
