I have to agree. It's over as long as OKC keeps at a 60 win pace, and he maintains his ridiculous efficiency(both seem likely).

That has cooled with the fact that the Clippers' ridiculous bench is being exposed more and more.

Heat just lost to the Jazz, and Clippers blew out Memphis without CP3. Durant is the only one actually carrying his team in a tougher conference. He is gonna win MVP rather easily if Miami keep sucking so much vs teams above .500 and if Clippers keep winning with their amazing bench leading the way.

I have no problem with either of KD or CP3 winning (LeBron will probably have a case by the end of the season as well, unless Miami continues to coast). Durant is probably my pick as of today.

Which is why OP included "running away with" in the title. That means the gap is increasing. Also, some people still have CP3 in front of Durant, so it's not that stupid.

Not that it's a huge deal, but I have no clue where you're getting 31.9 PPG from. Including tonight's 41 point game, he's averaging 30.5 PPG over his last 30 games.

Anyway, over his last 30 games he's averaging 31-7-4-2-1 on 53/41/91 and has four 40 point games in his last 13 games.

MVP is not about numbers, if it was then somebody like Lebron would win every season... its about impact/valuability to your team and most importantly how much that translated to team success that season (team record)....

It's Durant's MVP to lose. He has been playing unreal efficient on offense.

CP3 probably have a MVP case here, mostly because of impact on the Clippers franchise overall. Melo too has been playing great lately, but I think it's still Durant's to lose. He is dominating too much and his team has the best record.

Kevin Durant is playing better right now. In my eyes he is LeBron's equal. The one thing that sets them apart is what when they met in the finals last time one of them became the champion. On the greatest stage he took home the Larry O'Brien trophy and was chosen as the MVP of the series.

I think LeBron is still the greater player. He has nothing to prove right now. He has won the MVP award multiple times. He has the championship. He has gold medals. He is playing great ball but he seems to be playing in cruise-control sometimes.

KD has everything to prove. He must really want to win the championship, and be the MVP. He has to play at this level if he is going to beat LeBron.

I feel LeBron has another level in him which just needs some inspiration before it is switched on. It will be the playoffs when we see his best ball of all. I think he has another level and is the greatest player of them all but KD is worthy of the MVP at this point.

I agree with you on that LeBron is waiting for postseason to put on a show, that's why I believe an OKC vs Miami final would be a great series but this time it won't end up as one sided as it seemed from the 4-1 conclusion. Durant has been on the losing side and knows how bad it feels so him along the rest of OKC will do whatever it takes to win it all this time.

I agree. lastnight he took 30 shots and made them at 50% and suprise suprise he dropped 40.

Sure Westbrook is a great scorer aswell, but KD is just flat out better. Russel needs to defer to KD more while working on the other parts of his game. Save the shooting for when the team really needs it (Derrick Rose is very good at this).

The simple fact that Lebron is top 5 in scoring, top 10 in FG% and Assists, and top 25 in rebounds.

The MVP is far from being handed out.

I think it will come down to Durant VS LeBron. not that its much of a stretch to guess that. But if Miami plays better it could go back to LeBron. As much as people might be getting bored of voting for LeBron he is coming off one of the greatest calander years of all time and that might help him get a few more votes.

Durant is a lock as long as he wins at least 5 more games than Lebron.

Paul deserves to be in the discussion - the Clippers may win a game or two without him but he is vital to them as a leader and a player - but the Clippers would have to finish atop the west for him to be in serious consideration. Durant is obviously the favorite.
