While Wolverine is hugely popular and may be overrated, I have no problem saying he is my favorite character. The only time I didn't like him was when he went feral, that was a weird phase.

Don't think he's overrated, just highly overexposed in the Marvel Universe.

It's been Wolverine for YEARS.....
Some of my other favorites: Cannonball, Magik and Psylocke

It's Wolverine for me but since he's a really common answer, I'll say my second favorite is Nightcrawler. My second favorite X-Men spinoff character though is Magneto

yeah, Wolverine for me too. Storm probably being my second favorite. She was a lady/goddess/badass (with the mohawk and all) and she always came through when needed. Her powers are awesome.
Also, since I was really into comics as a kid, I had a crush on Psylocke :D **** it.. I still do

Wolverine and magneto were always the most badass. Beast and nightcrawler are runner-ups.
My favourite xmen moment came with the fox spiderman crossover where beast and wolverine were the main xmen characters. Wolverine spiderman and beast in the same tv episode was a nerdgasm back then

When you can see veins through your outfit, your outfit is way too tight. The artist apparently just drew a naked man and then painted him blue, lol.

Deadpool's not even a mutant and they keep telling him he's not in the x-men so he doesn't count. Plus the last writer turned him into a joke (haven't read him in marvel NOW yet)
Mine's nightcrawler. I liked wolverine second in the past but in the last 10 years he's been over done to the point of saturation and boredom. Cyclops annoys the hell out of me

Wolverine and Magneto were always my favorites from the X-Men universe. Gambit and Beast were pretty cool too.
My favorite X-Man is Rogue by far. I would say that she has the best ability out of the X-Men. My second favorite is Sabertooth, if he counts.

Rogue is pretty awesome (just not in the movies). Phoenix is the GOAT female X-men character though IMO.

I swear there was an issue where it implied he went a bit homo as well with someone wasn't there? Does anyone remember when they did X-men swimsuit issues? I've only seen them more recently but that's pretty funny. Gambit done well I like but he's been done pretty poorly by some writers.

I have a question about reading comics. I looked up Avengers vs. X-Men to see what it was about and saw it was its own mini series of comics 1-12.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avengers_vs._X-Men
But then the page also says that there are a bunch of tie-ins.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avengers_vs._X-Men#Titles_involved
Now to get the full story, do you have to read every single one of those extra comic books, or can you just read the main mini series?
One thing I've never liked about comics is that you have to read books outside of the specific series you might be interested in and it becomes a complete mess. How would you even figure it out if you didn't have the internet?

Main series for the full story. Tie-ins just tell it from a different perspective. You'll be fine if you read the main series and nothing else.

That artist really made him look like Mark Strong. Too bad Mark Strong has played way too many villains, otherwise I'd think he'd be a good choice.

AvX wasn't that amazing to begin with so its definitely not necessary to read the tie-ins. I read all the tie-ins for Civil War, but that was a much bigger event. I'd probably do the same if i read Fear Itself. But AvX was relatively small despite the major outcome.

Your favorite X-Men character?
the one that dies and knows how to STAY dead.
i.e., no popping up in some bullshit alternate universe storyline just so marvel can milk more cash from the situation.
last time i checked, the native american guy who croaked in the 70's was the only one who lived up to that towering potential.
