No threepeat without Kobe, even if Shaq was clearly the better player. Also worth noting is how many rings Shaq won without Kobe taking on part of the scoring load.

Yes, this one is on Kobe, but he should also be blaming their defense. The team should be cognizant that Kobe will have his bad shooting days and be readily prepared for them by countering it with good defense. Obviously, the Lakers seem to not give two shits about the forbidden "D" word.

Kobe's a system player. Without Phil Jackson(GOAT coach) and the triangle, he's just a volume scorer that puts up empty stats on bad teams. Never played good defense either(RAPM confirms this) so he's basically a one-way chucker.

Dude is probably exhausted, he won't admit it, but 40+ minutes a game for a 34 year old 17 seasons in? That's way too much..

It was only a matter of time before his legs fell off. D'Antoni is playing him way too much. Expect another 40+ tomorrow night too.

Kobe just can never learn after all these years, its amazing... even the best ever shoots bad sometime, its not about that... its about shooting bad and still continuing to take same shots over and over and over despite knowing they most likely wont go in and they didnt... its wasted offensive possessions, possessions which you could have used to set up your teammates instead for higher percentage shots...

Like other plays with bad shot selection, he just doesn't know, in the moment and on the court with no time to think, which shots are good and which are bad.

So he can't just get rid of the bad shots, because he wouldn't be able to just select them alone out of the pile.

So if he started shooting less he'd end up getting rid of some of the good shots too. And that wouldn't help, it'd mostly just drop his absolute production.

Look, i have watched most of Kobes games since 1996.... he always had this mindset when he shoots bad and thats the ONLY reason i had often tough times enjoying his game... he just doesnt give a god damn if his shot is not falling, he will continue to shoot and shoot and shoot... does he really think that helps his team out?
Nothing will stop him from shooting... actually when he shoots bad you can notice it always pisses him of, forces him to shoot even more and alienate his teammates even more.... its detrimental to the outcome of the game because of that... i really dont understand why he does it, its not like he has some scrubs around him?

I am no Kobe hater, i think he is one of the 10 greatest of all time and have all the respect in the world for his talent/skill.... but its just this mindset of his that irks me...

I mean look at how for example Michael Jordan played in those horrible shooting night situations, immediately when he noticed "its one of those nights" he would stop forcing the issue unlike Kobe... and focus on setting his teammates up instead and use extra energy on defense instead... this is something Lebron does aswell.... I really cant understand why Kobe cant do this, its not like he has bad passing skills & vision.... there is no other way to explain it than him being probably selfish.... either that or just bad IQ or passing skills/vision (and that i refuse to believe)...

I understand if he does this on some nights where all his teammates are just playing horrible and he is forced to try do something out of nothing, perfectly understandable, but not on nights when his teammates are playing good offensively or his one or two all-star/superstar teammates has the hot hand............. or on nights when he hasnt even tried to involve/set up his teammates enough....

I agree with the first few paragraphs and that, along with his general self, caused me to stop liking him a long time ago. And I agree on all that.

I disagree quite strongly on the Jordan part. The defense, yes. Tho he always went hard, all the time, every possession, in every facet of the game. That is why he is, rightfully (and I use to say Magic) untouchable.

But if he was shooting poorly, he wouldn't stop taking shots. He wouldn't focus on getting his teammates involved. The difference is obvious. Jordan would get in the post. Jordan would go to the rim. Jordan would attack. Kobe keeps shooting...as in shooting stupid jumpshots. Even as an old man, Kobe is very athletic. In his prime, he was as athletic as anyone. He has better handles than MJ, he's got a great first step (odd revisionist history that suggests otherwise), he's got all the skill, talent, physical ability, drive. He's great at getting to the rim. But he doesn't go to the rim nearly as much as he should. His shooting percentages suffer, as a result. He doesn't always use his jumpshooting as a weapon to space the floor. His efficiency does not drop in favor of making the team offense more efficient. He swallows the ball and takes too many stupid jumpers. It has its place and often helps, but it often is just stupid and annoying.

Early in the season, Kobe was going to the basket. Now, he's settling for jumpshots again. He can't help but fall in love with himself.

So.... Russell has his name on 4 FMVP awards. Not too shabby. Give him a few seasons and he will have his name on more FMVP awards than any player in history

Bill Russell has his name on more FMVPs than Kobe

Russell >>>> Kobe

just facts.

Deuce Bigalow deal with it, you are #****ing******stupid

Jerry West received the first FMVP in '69, but Wilt choked on the freethrow line so they didn't win game 7. But I knew about the history of the FMVP award so stop acting like a ****ing ******, ok?

They lost because that retard Van Breda Kolff kept Wilt on the bench at the end of the game because they were "doing fine" without him. :facepalm

I'm not really mad. I have already accepted that this season will be a failure. A team can't stay on top every year.
not many teams fail at these immense levels

Maybe he kept him on the bench because he couldn't make freethrows?
4-13 from the line. 24-66 for the series.

Wrong, he only gave you 2 rings, the first three was all on Shaq, it was Shaq's one man show during Lakers three-peat.

I am curious...do the Lakers come back form 15 down in the 4th quarter, at home, to beat the most loaded team in the NBA, without Kobe Bryant? Shaq led that 4th quarter by himself, right? Or would they not be in the hole because Kobe actually brought them down? I'm only trying to anticipate bullshit, so forgive me for being so forward.

When the Kings got ripped off by the NBA, it still took an overtime in Sacrameto, in Game 7. That includes the Horry 3 in Game 4. Do the Lakers still win without Kobe there?

I'm just curious.

don't argue with him, he's a notorious kobe hater. funny thing is, he would kill to have a player like kobe on his shitty team. whether they are new jersey or brooklyn, nets are still shit and will always be 2nd to the knicks :lol

I understand if he does this on some nights where all his teammates are just playing horrible and he is forced to try do something out of nothing, perfectly understandable, but not on nights when his teammates are playing good offensively or his one or two all-star/superstar teammates has the hot hand............. or on nights when he hasnt even tried to involve/set up his teammates enough....

aren't you 12?

Only a ****ing ****** would compare Kobe's rings to Pippen's
!
And only a dumbf*ck would compare Kobe's rings to Jordan, Shaq, etc

By your dumba$$ logic he's right, Scottie Pippen is better than Kobe. 6 rings, elite defense, 2nd scoring option behind MJ

A finals MVP does not constitute winning a title as the main man. Tim Duncan was the best player on the 2007 Spurs. Larry Bird was the best player on the 81 Celtics. Kareem was the best player on the 80 Lakers. Kobe was NOT the best player on the 2000-2002 Lakers. That honor belonged to Shaq. Damn Kobe trolls are truly the scum of the world.

How the hell is Kobe's rings not comparable to Shaq's? Kobe won 2 without him, and in the last 2 that they won together Kobe was the leading scorer in 18/35 playoff games, 4/8 playoff series, in 2nd half scoring, and in 4th quarter scoring.

ok if you know you dont have your legs and you're shooting badly, why take 32 shots? You only take 32 shots if you're like "WTF is this sht I feel amazing and everything is rimming out" -- and even then, it is a stretch. If you feel your legs aren't under you, don't shoot the ball 32 times, especially when you play next to one of the best shooters in the history of the game. It's not complicated
