View Full Version : There's no reason for Kobe to lead the FGA per game by far with Gasol, Nash, Howard

There's absolutely no reason for kobe to be shooting more per game than players like Durant and Carmelo who have vastly inferior offensive supporting cast than Kobe

today we saw how efficient the laker offense was when nash and gasol played pick and roll, too bad kobe had to go iso mode and chuck them out of the game

I've been saying this for a long time now. Kobe's fga needs to be in the 16-20 range on this team. Anything beyond 20 and their chance to win statistically drops with every shot

Doesn't matter about their offense. They are giving up way too many points. The first 20 games he averaged 19.5 shots per game and the team was still below .500. That is because their offense is not the problem.
What difference would Kobe taking +5 shots make when they are giving up 105-110 ppg? None.

use actual statistics to back up your point and I'll be impressed. Everybody knows the lakers record is better when kobe shoots less. It's well documented.

kobe can be a killer sometimes but today no joke I was pumped every time he shot it because it felt like pau was making everything and kobe was missing everything

and this is is why i hate box score watchers instead of watching the games. Have you watched the Lakers games this year? There is probably 5 games where i can honestly say Kobe has shot too much.

I dont understand why people here say we have other scorers on this team, but think hard about that statement.

Kobe passes the ball to Nash, Nash passes the ball back to Kobe.

Kobe passes the ball to Dwight, Dwight gets stripped or fouled and misses both free throws.

Kobe passes the ball to Gasol, Gasol drives and flails his arm looking for a foul and not getting back on defense for his missed shot.

Kobe passes the ball to MWP, MWP does a quick dribble and pump fakes about 5 times, to throw up a insanely unneccessary and difficult three pointer, basically relying on hope that it goes in.

you'd be surprised at how ball movement can make quite a huge difference

11-3 when Kobe shoots less then 20 shots and 6-19 when he shoots more then 20. How can anyone believe he's not shooting too much? That's way too large of a sample size to call it a coincidence.

Lakers 5-18 when their opponent scores 100 points.
Lakers 2-16 when their opponent scores 105 points.
Lakers 12-5 when their opponent scores less than 100 points.
18 out of 23 of their losses came when they gave up 100 points.
12 out of 17 of their wins came when they gave up less than 100 points

Nope it does matter, when all you have to do on the court is to rebound and defend, your energy and passion aint gonna be as high as when you are involved in offense. I've seen many circumstances when Kobe took more shots than Howard, Gasol and Nash combined, its just ridiculous.

They needed an experienced coach to be able to manage well the rotations on that team. They had two of the worst candidates in Brown and Pringles.

Wat about when he takes 0 shots like wen Lakers scored 79pts vs Spurs in the playoffs?

Kobe Bryant is a selfish chucker with delusions of grandeur. No wonder Dwight Howard left that team. Look at what Howard is doing with Houston now. Sure, box score reading simpletons will look at the stats and say "Dwight Howard is taking the same amount of shots as a Rocket!".

Right. I'm sure Kobe would be happy if he took the same amount of shots (like 25? 30?) only this time he's spotting up instead of creating. I'm sure Kobe would be extremely happy. No complaints there at all. Kobe wanted Dwight to be his Tyson Chandler.

Look at what Howard is doing with Houston. Let the man play his game and he'll produce. Houston 3rd in the West, 5th best record in the league. :applause:
