The Rock vs. CM Punk for the WWE Championship.
It's going to be a good match. CM Punk and The Rock are the 2 of the best mic workers in the WWE Right now.
I hope the Rock introduces a new belt after he beat the longest reigning WWE Champion in the last 20 years. Foley and Flair will probably help the Rock if The Shield attacks the People Champ again.
Alberto Del Rio vs. The Big Show Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship
I expect Del Rio to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. It's going to be a good match.
ADR is a transitional champion because I expect Dolph Ziggler to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase after the last man standing match.
Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane) (c) vs. The Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow & Cody Rhodes)
I think It's time for the WWE to give the WWE Tag team championship to The Rhodes Scholars. I would love to see Sandow wins his first WWE title.
John Cena
Randy Orton
Sheamus
Dolph Ziggler
Heath Slater
Jinder Mahal
Drew McIntyre
Antonio Cesaro
Wade Barrett
The Miz
Ryback
Titus O'Neil
Darren Young
Kane
Daniel Bryan
Surprise Entrants
Tommy Dreamer
The New Age Outlaws
The Shield
Ric Flair
Brock Lesnar
I pick Ryback or John Cena to win the Royal Rumble Match. To tell you the truth I want to see the Rock vs. Ryback at Wrestlemania 29.
http://www.wrestlepoop.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/20121024_article_FULL_mostwanted_cenaryback.jpg
I came into this thread after the 2K wrestling game thread.
The only guys on that list I really know anything about are The Rock, Cena, Kane, Rick Flair, and Brock Lesner. I vaguely aware of Orton, Sheamus, CM Punk, and The Miz, but I couldn't tell you anything beyond what they look like (don't know any of their signature moves). Everybody else I've never heard of before. That Ryback guy looks like the 2nd coming of Goldberg (mixed with the face of Deebo from Friday).

Ryback is a beast. The Shield is the best stable in the WWE right now. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns are the future of this business.

Rock vs Ryback would be horrible. Rock can't carry ryback to a good match.
I would like to see a triple threat match punk vs cena vs the rock or add in ryback then and make it a fatal 4 way.

Pretty sure Rock beats Punk and Cena wins the Rumble. That's the only way they'd be able to "reluctantly" set up another WM match between the two even though the big sell on last years WM was that the match was "once in a lifetime".
As far as Punk goes, the storyline I'd probably go with is Punk loses the title and goes on a rant over the next few weeks about how his title reign was "the most impressive streak in WWE history"...that triggers a match with Taker because his WM streak is "the most impressive streak in WWE history". I think with Taker they'd want him in a match with Punk cuz they need someone who can get a really good match out of him while takin care of him at the same time

I know they gotta have Rock/Cena again so that Cena can get the win back from last years WM.
The thing that trips me out tho is that people keep saying Rock needs to "pass the torch" to Cena. A lotta people seem to forget that Rock was THE guy in WWE (as in undisputed #1) For MAYBE a year and a half-two years (2000-2001). Cena's been THE guy in WWE for 9-10 years now. There's no torch to be passed to Cena. He needs to pass it to someone else at this point

This. I personally watch WWE because of the story lines and watching how characters develop and such. The same as watching Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead.

biggest surprise of the night was how good the ADR/show match was. other than that, i figured rock would win. set up rock vs. cena II, cena wins.
not a classic title reign by punk but a very good one. probably a good idea to get some rest now too but the road to WM probably won't really allow him too.

why bitch about the people's elbow? rock has finished numerous wrestlers with that. he's been doing it his whole career. he beat hogan with it at mania. plus, punk was weakened from the rock bottom on the outside.

It shouldn't be a finish to a match ever. It's a ****ing elbow. An elbow finished off the longest modern day championship reign in WWE. What a terrible finish

it's not as bad as jerry lawler's 'punch'. hogan used to finish guys with a leg drop. would you have preferred punk tap to a sharpshooter? cuz those are basically all of rock's finishing moves: rock bottom, people's elbow, sharpshooter.
i honestly can't see how someone can be surprised by an elbow finish. rock has been doing that shit since the 90s....

Punk vs taker at WM
blacknapalm
01-28-2013, 12:12 AM
What about Big Show's OK Punch? That's the most basic finisher in the game right now.
They've been going with basic finishers for awhile (since '03-ish) now because of concussion and injury concerns.

01-28-2013, 12:20 AM
disappointing and predictable it leads to Cena/Rock 2.
I would rather have seen Punk retain, and Rock win the rumble as a surprise entrant leading to a title match at Mania.
But best case now is a triple threat for the wwe title
punk vs cena vs rock
Not only is it a fresh take on the Cena/Rock Fued, adding Punk to a main event of that magnitude raises his profile tremendously.
Plus, if he won the title at Mania, it could set up a Cena/Rock III in which Cena finally gets his W over the Rock.
That, and I'd rather see Brock/Taker than Punk/Taker. If Punk isn't in the Main Event, the only other match I could see him in is going after the Undertaker...
The only way to make Cena/Rock II interesting is to turn Cena heel, which is looking highly unlikely.
Wavves
01-28-2013, 12:21 AM
I'm not a fan of basic finishers at all. Big Show's makes sense because he is huge and if I were punched by him, I'd be knocked out too. But a fancy elbow drop? No thanks.

Wrestlemania is looking like:
The Rock vs. John Cena
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar
Undertaker vs. CM Punk
Sheamus vs. Randy Orton
Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho
Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
Ryback vs. Big Show
Mamba
01-28-2013, 08:27 AM
WWE always like to pay homage. here is my guess of what is going to happen on the road to wrestlemania....but first some history:
Dolph Ziggler gave out the hint tonight to "unify the titles"
The Rock was the last Unified champion, wrestling on both brands before Brock Lesnar beat him at Summer Slam 2002.
The Big Show prevented Cena from winning the WWE championship
and now what im guessing
Cena vs Ziggler for a contract vs contract match. If ziggler wins he gets to face rock at Wrestlemania.
If Cena wins he gets Dolphs MITB contract.
Cena wins.
Big Show beats ADR in a cage match, but has been beaten heavily. actually a clean win for big Show.
Cena comes out and cashes in against Show (the guy who cost him the wwe championship all the way when CM punk turned heel against the rock)
Wrestlemania: Cena vs Rock
Cena wins, unifies belts.
Rock and Cena hug in the middle of the ring next night on Raw. The rock tells Cena he has a present for him and to toss those 2 belts out and bring out a belt with meaning.
The Rock gives John Cena the WWF belt that the Rock carried for most of his career until he retired in 2002.
seem plausible enough?

why is anyone upset, let alone surprised? cm punk's reign was quite boring, and many fans blame that on everyone but punk, yet have no comment when ratings shoot up for the rock. their royal rumble match was pretty boring, but now that punk isn't champion i may tune in more often. he has been by far the most overrated thing in wrestling for a while now. his whole gimmick is that he's edgy and speaks the truth about wrestling politics, as if we didn't have an entire era based around that over a decade ago. we know wrestling is fake, so its almost insulting that wwe pushed him with that gimmick as if he is somehow shooting, when he's just as much apart of the script as all he's "shoots" about. he hasn't been all that entertaining since the straight edge stable was dropped.
ziggler is fun in the ring, but he, like most of the roster, has no personality. "showoff", "cocky"...that's generic heel 101.
hate him or love him, ryback is money...assuming they do it right. wwe has never liked goldberg types (despite what you think of cena), which unfortunate because ryback should be running rampant as intercontinental or u.s. champion.
r truth, perhaps the diamond in the rough for wwe. he'll most likely never be taken advantage of though.
