If he improves his defense to elite he'll definitely be in the top 3 with LeBron and Durant.

EDIT: Holy shit I just saw the replay...Raptors had to get the ball out of Kyrie's hands and make someone else beat them.

Or they wouldn't even be in that situation and would have cruised to 12/20 point wins like the Thunder have vs the Raptors.

Anyways, I never argued Westbrook has the better crunch time player or brought him up. He just brings more things I'd want.

Kyrie was THE most clutch player in the NBA STATISTICALLY last year. Not saying that he was in general because CP3 and Durant were better but the fact that a ROOKIE can even be a lock for top 5 clutch player, then comes around this year just as clutch as ever? Sky is the limit for this guy and I'm going to say this with a straight face despite being a big skeptic of his before. Kyrie Irving will likely be a top 3 player in the NBA right there with Lebron and Durant. Yes... I said it  .

I just see ZERO weakness in the guy outside of defense, which is completely normal for players as young as him. It's extremely rare for players to come into the league with great defense. As for the passing he's no Nash, Rondo or CP3 but as he develops and teammates improve his assists will keep climbing.

Playing with Kevin Durant makes you seem like a better player than you actually are also, he demands so much attention other teams want a low IQ pg that shoots more shots than the best scorer in the game to have the ball as much as possible.

offensively he is the best pg in the league. he's like a 6'3 Durant, but don't take my word for it, take Paul Pierce's word. After Kyrie dropped 40 on The Celtics head this is what Pierce said.

#Celtics SF Paul Pierce on #Cavaliers PG Kyrie Irving: "He's probably the best scoring point guard in the league.

More #Celtics SF Paul Pierce on #Cavaliers PG Kyrie Irving: "There is really no scorer like him at that position in the #NBA."

he's right also... no pg can shoot like him except Curry, but Curry can't get to the rim and finish like Kyrie.

Yeah, the Cavs are 28-57 in those 85 games, so it breaks down to 1 out of about every 5-6 Cavs wins with Kyrie he has won with a game winning shot.

He's almost like a cross between Curry and Westbrook, except he's not as athletic and explosive as Westbrook, and not quite as good of a shooter as Curry. But, like you said, he can get to the rim and finish better than Curry, and he's obviously a better shooter than Westbrook. Scary that he's just 20 years old. That's purely as a scorer, though. It may seem biased, but I'd still take current Westbrook over current Kyrie. A year or two from now, though, that will probably change. It will depend on whether or not he continues to miss stretches of seasons with injuries and how much he improves defensively. For now, one major edge Westbrook will have over any of the other young future superstar PG's is his durability.

Yea, for a title run I'd rather have Russell right now. I'm actually a Russell fan unlike a lot of people. He has the defense and durability that you need. I am glad to have Kyrie in our current situation though. 2 years or so Kyrie barring injury will be best pg in league if he continues to work

I don't think it's fair to say horrible defense.

Nobody expected him to pull up from that far out, and with Kyrie's well-known ability to drive and finish it's a tough call to make on how much space to give him...

He is pretty much impossible to defend. It's like calling someone a poor defender for being unable to stop a prime Shaq down in the post; it just can't be done.
