Again you are ignoring the fact that Lakers did not utilize Dwight properly in offense, which is why hes struggling. Have him on the Nets team and hes easily averaging 25/15/3.

CP3 makes a much bigger impact on the Clippers team, hes the difference between a lottery team and a title contender. CP3 steps up in games when hes needed, and whenever he does this he gets numbers like 30/10 easily. Kobe just keeps jacking shots, now hes going to another extreme. He never really learns how to play the most reasonable and appropriate way. Kobe aint even comparable to CP3's level nowadays.

I really have no clue who to put in my top 6. IMO LeBron, CP3, Kobe (though based on team record he's not in the MVP discussion), Durant are locks for the top 6 (nobody else is). That leaves 2 spots:
- Dwight hasn't looked himself, and while he's being underrated for posting agendas, his level of play doesn't warrant being placed in the top 6
- Duncan's missed too much time recently for me to feel comfortable putting him here (as of a week or so ago, he'd be top 6 in the league and in the MVP race).
- Wade *should* be here based on his level of play since the beginning of December, but he's clearly pacing himself. I have no doubt he'll be one of the best six in the league in the postseason, but at what point do we admit he's saving himself for the playoffs, and note that despite the fact that he can play like a top 6 player he's choosing not to based on his situation (LeBron is younger and can carry the team, Wade doesn't need to overly exert himself)?
- Melo should probably be here but he's not a lock...he's drained so many big shots this season though, and shows up almost every night. It's hard to keep him out.
- Westbrook is a tough call...I feel like he's leaving more on the court than Wade, but there's no question in my mind that Wade will be better when he needs to step up in the playoffs.
I guess the last two are Wade/Melo, but I think Westbrook has played at a higher level more consistently than Wade.

Exactly. Even after the Finals I thought there was a pretty noticeable gap between LeBron and Durant. Not that Durant had an awful series or anything, but LeBron's overall impact on the games was much greater than Durant's. This year, though, Durant has definitely closed the gap to the point it's almost non-existent. Now, both Miami and OKC may make the Finals again this year and it may play out in similar fashion to the 2012 Finals. But, based on what we've seen from Durant this year, he's certainly closed the gap. And it's not just his scoring, either. On top of the 30 PPG on 52/42/91 shooting, he's averaging 7.5 RPG and 4.5 APG; and in general, his overall game is much improved on both ends of the floor. He's slowly blossoming into a good versatile defender. Not consistently good right now, but he shows flashes of being a very good defender.

Durant's team has a better record, in a tougher conference, with worse overall talent on his team. :lol

Durant can only shoot the ball better than Lebron, most significantly from the FT line...... there is absolutely NOTHING else he can do better...
rebound, pass, defend, whatever... you name it... even scoring he is not better at, Lebron shows that to us/you when its needed (in the playoffs), dont look into current PPG to much, Lebron could very easily lead the league in PPG if he wanted to.... but doesnt need to with other scorers in his team like Wade & Bosh... and doesnt need to when he is a point-forward and still gets you ~27 ppg on 55% FG (with much less freethrow gifts)...

I'm not getting into another long-winded argument with you. It's pointless, especially when it comes to LeBron. There's not many people that would say there's a gap between LeBron and Durant right now. I didn't say Durant was better than LeBron. I said based on their play this year the gap is pretty non-existent right now. And does David Aldridge represent the opinion of everyone? I could find an article or video clip of a respected NBA journalist/reporter who has Durant as their mid-season MVP and would say he's closed the gap on LeBron this year. This all very well could change over the next 35+ games and into the playoffs; but based on their play this season, and the here and now, it's hard to argue Durant hasn't been as good as LeBron this year and doesn't have as justifiable of an MVP case as LeBron.
And quit saying "LeBron could lead the league in scoring if he wanted to." I'm getting tired of reading/hearing that. It's a slap in the face to Durant, because it implies that's all he's trying to do and all he can do.

I really have no clue who to put in my top 6. IMO LeBron, CP3, Kobe (though based on team record he's not in the MVP discussion), Durant are locks for the top 6 (nobody else is). That leaves 2 spots:

I guess the last two are Wade/Melo, but I think Westbrook has played at a higher level more consistently than Wade.
I hesitated to put Wade in the top 6 because I thought he had lost ALL explosiveness and the quickness that made him that consistent top 3 player from 08-11 but in the past 3 games(even though he struggled against Boston) I saw that explosiveness and quickness of course not to '11 Wade extent. As long as I see that he still has it in him, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because his game is so dependent on those 2 factors. It's the difference between him being a good player and a dominant player. I've been extremely hard on Wade too, I basically gave up on him after last season whenever he had the ball, I cringed because he couldn't do anything. When he says his knee is getting healthier, he's not joking.

I just dont know how ANYBODY hater or not can say Lebron is not #1. He is the Reigning MVP and Finals MVP plus been MVP 3 of the last 4 seasons in the League. Durant has made a Clear case for #2 but that is as far as it goes there is NOTHING you can point at that says he is better than Lebron other than Shooting/Scoring. Like I stated earlier this season the ONLY CASE that can be made for Durant is if OKC wins Finals this year especially if they beat Heat and he outplays Lebron. Until all that happens The #1 spot starts and ends with Lebron.. Case Closed

1. Lebron
2. CP3
3. Carmelo
4. Dwight
5. Durant
6. Wade
Fact or fiction?
Wade over Kobe? I find it hilarious how Kobe haters go out of their way to exclude the man from top honors among the NBA's current elite. It's just as pathetic as Kobe stans declaring him the GOAT.
And if you've been watching the Lakers at all this season, you would know Kobe is above D12, too.
Lastly, Durant at #5? Really? :biggums: I don't know how a top 3 player can be ranked at 5, but good to know some idiot can rank him there.

I agree Lebron is the clear-cut #1, but I do think Durant could've made himself #1 during the regular season if he average more points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and clearly outplays Lebron head-to-head with a better team record. Not going to happen though.

Kobe is a washed up ex-superstar, nothing but a shell of his old self. Id take both Wade and Harden over him, probably Eric Gordon too. Also Dwight is by far the best player in LA Lakers, you know its true.

Agreed except for I don't think Westbrick belongs at #6. I'd put Duncan at that spot based on his play this year.
And  @ anyone who has Dwight in their top 6. Dude is barely even top 20 at this point.

so durant = jordan?? lol durant not close to jordan buddy...
they have the same style and according to advance stats, He is reaching jordan status. While lebron is just another version of oscar robertson. He has pretty stats but actually his impact is not as good jordan/durant.

he won because of teammates.
I guess if jordan played today, Lebron would still be number 1. LOL how idiotic would that be. Luckily jordan never played with lebron coz the only way he can prove to be better is to win a ring while lebron continues to statpad coz of the luxury of having better teammates.
Durant clearly is number 1 right now. He is the closest jordan while lebron to oscar and we all knew who among the 2 is the winner.
