Are you stupid? We have a decisive rebounding/big man advantage over the Heat. We have absolutely no advantages over OKC. Besides Noah over Perkins, but that's a wash considering Ibaka.

I've been afraid of the Thunder far more than the Heat, the past 2 years.

I don't get why Bulls fans are mad at this thread. I think it's a completely valid discussion.
I've been saying for the longest, even if we get past Miami, I'm not too sure about OKC.
I know it's just the regular season, but at least we have a blue print on stopping the Heat. When's the last time we even beat the Thunder in the regular season???

Do you Bulls fans remember what Lebron did to Rose in 2011?
You mean LeBron, defensive shades, multiple layers of rim protection defense, athletic defenders playing passing lanes and Chicago not having ANY other playmakers to help D- Rose out and put pressure on the 4 other defenders?
Why yes, I remember what that Miami team did to Rose with their stifling, athletic, swarming team defense. LeBron just took the pub, by being a pretty good man defender, and just contesting Rose's jumper seeing as he had NO WHERE else to go.
And given Rose is like in reality 6 feet tall, and had a 6'8 SUPER GENETIC FREAK athlete contesting his jumper, as he had to play both guard positions, chuck and distribute? He did a pretty damn find job all things considering.
Bron reaped the benefits getting fan claim as if he solo LOCKED DOWN the MVP Derrick Rose. When in reality it was a team defense, and Bron using his physical gifts to bother someone on the perimeter.
Probably the most overrated defensive job on an elite player I've ever heard of ... for people who know basketball, they know the real reason why Rose looked bad that series.
Kobe's defense on Westbrook in the 2010 playoffs was more impressive than Bron on Rose in the 2011 playoffs.
Kobe was on an island locking dude down with his man defense. Westbrook had other elite shot creators who could score and take away layers of defensive help. I wish Rose had that ... until he does, everyone needs to stop acting like Bron locked him down mano y mano.

If he's hucking shots over lebron that's not a good job, he simply just has to get around him and distribute which he struggled to do so. And he's 6'3 so lets not exaggerate like if he's allen iverson. I heard Rose is arguably the fastest player in the league and yet he struggled to blow by LeBron.

Rose is not 6'3. He's closer to about 6'1. NBA exaggerates certain players heights. Iverson was listed 6' and he was like 5'11. Steve Nash is listed as 6'3, and he is NOT 6'3.
Rose didn't struggle to blow by LeBron. You obviously didn't understand what you were watching.
The Heat had no respect for the other Bulls players, they sagged off many of the perimeter players (Bogans, Brewer, even Korver) they didn't respect them, none could create off the dribble or finish at the rim v.s. elite athletes and defenders (Bron, Wade, even Chalmers)
Rose was the only one. Rose couldn't attack the rim the way he did v.s. the Pacers and Hawks, because everyone was focal pointing Rose drive to the basket. They wanted Rose doing step backs and shooting jumpers. Miami absolutely played Rose perfectly. I'm giving them the credit.
It was NOT however Rose and Bron on an island. The four other defenders weren't being distracted or held accountable for any other Chicago offensive threat. The rim was being defended well by Bosh, Haslem, and Anthony..
Bron took advantage of the situation dealt. Contest Rose jump shot. NOT THAT BIG of a deal. And certainly not the hand cuffs the way Miami / LeBron fans act like he put on Rose.
It was a situational defensive setting, and Bron did his job. It wasn't some superman effort taking on a player individually, with no help defense. It was Miami's help defense that shunned Rose's penetration game. Rose is so quick he is allowed to look past his man defender, and worry more about the other layers of defense.
In those 2011 playoffs, he had no where to go off the dribble. Seeing as how he had to be a playmaker and scorer to beat Miami, he was forced to hoist jumpers that were being contested by a top five defensive player in the league. And probably that season the best perimeter defender in the game.
What else do you seriously suggest Rose could've done? He was seriously handicapped by the talent on his roster.

Lets just say Rose will be 100%. This team's dynamic is completely changed. Now we have our microwave man in Nate Robinson. Before, it was pray that Korver gets hot from the arc.
Our defense is still elite, and our rebounding is also elite. We have so many more guards that can create their own shot, plus Noah/Jimmy have truly turned a corner this year. This Bulls team is nothing like last years, or the one before that one, that got to the ECF.

That's without DRose though. With him, they may have beaten us once in the season opener back in 2010.
Honestly there is about three team that can make the ECF realistically and Chicago is one of those teams (with Rose even at 80%) along with Miami and Boston. NY is not a serious threat with their type of play, Indy would fill in for Chicago if Rose is not at least 80% of what he was before the ACL. Atlanta is maybe 2nd round depending on matchups, NJ will most likely do nothing, MIL might steal one game against Miami.

That would have been a better opening post than "I'm not worried about the Heat."
I understand what you are saying, but Miami can play any type of game. They will manage against the big teams. Chicago's offense is mediocre this year, and even with Rose (who we don't know how good he will be back from injury), the Heat already beat this Chicago team in 5 games (this team is probably worse than the 2011 one), and Miami didn't have the cohesiveness they have now as a team.
I'm sure the games will be close, but I don't see Chicago beating Miami 4 times in a series. That offense is too mediocre, and Chicago's defense can only defend star power for so long since you can't really stop players like LeBron and Wade without wearing down. They will need to score. Miami already blew them out on their home floor this year. Chicago beat Miami on their home floor when every team was outrebounding us by 20 rebounds. Miami has been MUCH better on their defense and in rebounding thanks to better play and Birdman.

The 2011 and 2013 versions of the Bulls are completeley different. When will people finally get this? This 2013 actually is better offensively.
You got to realize that when Rose starts, Hinrich will move to the bench. So that gives us more depth and better defense in the 2nd unit. With guys like Gibson, Butler, Hinrich, Belinelli, and Robinson, we have just a solid group as when Watson, Brewer, Korver, and Gibson came in. Except the current bench can provide more offense because they have the guys that can put the ball in the basket quick. Belinelli and Robinson are capable of putting up buckets quick and will help Rose when he needs to spread the floor. Even Butler is just as adequate as Brewer was two years ago except he's already better offensively then Brewer was with us.

The 2011 and 2013 versions of the Bulls are completeley different. When will people finally get this? This 2013 actually is better offensively.

They are 28th in points per game, and this is assuming Rose is healthy. I've seen too many Bull games this year where they look dreadful on offense. Even with a healthy Rose, I don't see them beating Miami 4 times in a series. They are still a good team, but not on Miami's level this year. They can keep games close because they play great defense, but the offense is not good enough while Miami is elite on both sides.

As a Bulls fan, you should be more worried about Rose being a no-show at practice.

I'm not saying we're going to beat Miami. If we play them and we have an even 80% Rose then it's going to be the most competitive series Miami plays in. The current ranks we have offensively might as well be thrown out the window because when we get him back it will be a completely new and rejuvenated squad. Don't forget Hinrich has missed a ton of games too and he is the facilitator on offense with Noah. Nate Rob is not that guy. But he can be our JJ Barea/Stevenson type.

Ok I understand. I think Chicago will be tough don't get me wrong. I just don't see why Bull fans are looking past the Heat. That doesn't make sense to me.

In all honesty, who besides the OP, as far as Bulls fans on this board have you seen make that claim?

Well tikay0, but he spends most of the time trashing the Heat anyways. Heat fans get made to look like fools by the bandwagon fans as well so I can understand.

I'm just looking at it as an impartial fan, I love the Bulls and would love nothing more than to win a championship. If the Heat didn't have easily the best player in the league right now, I could see us beating Miami. I just can't see this Bulls team even with a healthy Rose beating Miami, we don't score enough and we have no answer for LBJ, Deng? LOL
It sucks but it is what it is.
Wait...the Bulls are a threat to anyone? :biggums:

As a realist...you're a moron and your team will not get past the second round at best.
