View Full Version : Lebron put together a basketball masterpiece tonight

This guy is the Mozart of basketball. He had 31pts 8 reb and 8 asst tonight on 13 of 14 shooting! And the only shot he missed was a pretty easy layup. We are not worthy.

Most nonchalant domination I've ever seen. 31 points, 93% shooting, 8 rebounds, 8 assists. Looked like he didn't break a sweat.

http://i.imgur.com/1mjtdjT.png

LeBron James with 13-14 FG (92.8 pct). Highest single-game FG% of his career. (Previous hi 81.8% vs. Nets 3/6/10).

His post game was just ON tonight, couldnt miss anything there, jumphooks, skyhooks, spinof left or right, up and under etc. Yes Bobcats are bad, but it has never worked this good for him before... almost Hakeemesque, the other shots were drives into the paint, soon as they did double-triple team he was dishing... very good night

One Thing I notice he is getting to The rim at will this year it seems when it looked like those days might have been over past couple seasons. He doesn't have the Pure Speed and First step like he once had but he is Setting Defenders up better with the Dribble and hesitations and change of speed better than ever. I remember that argument by Indian Guy and others when Lebron seemed like He was having trouble going by bigs even. Anyone else have any insight on this other than he may have been worn down(dead legs) injured, or overweight ?

We all speculated that ... Me (Samurai Swoosh) and Indian Guy were the ones who really first noticed it.

He was terrible in 2011 with his agility, quickness, lateral movement, and first step.

He was bad for most of last year too, but seemed to pick it up around that game in Utah where he passed on the game winning shot to Haslem, after nailing two consecutive big shots.

He got better and better with it as the year went along, and now it seems he's at least regained some of that off the dribble explosion of his game pre 2011.

actually it's not "insane", because dude mostly scores in the paint. A huge proportion of his points also come from fastbreaks. If you only take his FG from outside the paint, it'll be most likely around 40% or less.

Hell, last finals he shot 20% outside the paint.

Because they don't have his strength and athleticism.
That's his main weapon, he was blessed with that athleticism. As for other skills like shooting? He's pretty average, comparable to the average NBA player. Everything he's good at, he uses his athleticism to accomplish.

No, there are guys at that size that are athletic, but it's a different type of athleticism. Someone like Dwight or Ibaka are very athletic, they have high vert, but their movement aren't fast like Lebron's. Lebron's athleticism is one of a kind, allowing that massive body to be so strong and so fast. He really hit the lottery on this one.

That's how he blows by people for layups, or muscle through to create space. He also does the same, muscle and power over people to make his passes to open players for assists. It all comes from his athleticism.

Dude i am not particularly a lebron fan.I love watching him as much as any other superstar including kobe.I am not american so i am fan of NBA and basketball in general. Not a nut job like yourself. This is not about resorting to personal attacks. This is about you.I have met people like you especially in america i have never understood your kind. Its like you need to insult one man to feel alive. What i said is from an outside perspective.Thats what i see whenever i read your posts.Pathetic humanbeing whose only job is to insult one guy who doesnt even know about your existence.

Sorry but this is not even about lebron. You are not rational to be treated like a normal human being. For example DEUCE BEGULOW he is not a lebron fan but you can say something to him and he will acknowledge that even though he may not accept it.So there will be a discussion. With you it feels more like strangulation. When talking to you,i feel like talking to a wall.

Lebron is currently ranked 10th in the league in FG% at 55.5%. The nine players ahead of him are all centers and power forwards, and none of them are averaging better than Dwight Howard's 16.5 ppg. Lebron is averaging nearly 27 ppg, to go along with his 8 boards and 7 assists. This kind of efficiency and volume from a perimeter player is practically unheard of, at least in this era. He's easily the best player in the game and if the Heat finish the season strong and lock up the 1st seed, he should win his 4th MVP award in 5 years.

And i'm a hater for telling he is the biggest statpadder that i ever saw play?

Didn't watch the game, how many good looks did he pass? How many of his assists was just standing around waiting for Bosh to get open top of the keep and pass him the ball? U know what passes today as great playmaking.

I guess Wade publicly saying he and Lebron are on a statpadding contest, that whoever is more efficient gets all the ped's after the game, isn't enough for people.

I wonder why the Mozart of basketball needed Wade and Bosh. This isn't a 16 or 20 league team, where the best teams had multiple all-stars, this is a 30 team league.

He passes up any shot that isn't wide open or a layup. :oldlol: And at first you would think.. Hey that's a good thing. Take only good shots. But with lebron, he's passing the ball up to guys for worse shots than what he could've gotten himself. Batter contested three or lebron for a turnaround 15 footer? Haslem 18 footer or lebron from 20? He's not going to make the right basketball play.. He's going to do whatever gets him the best stat. Pass to batter? Worse that happens is a miss, no assist, and no decline in field goal percentage. Shoot it himself when it's not a layup? That could fvck up his fg and is the worst case scenario in his decision making process.

Lebron isn't playing natural bball.. He's fitting his play around individual numbers.. Passing up shots that would give his team an even bigger edge on purpose to protect a number.

And I remember when pauk was saying taking a half counter at the buzzer could only result in a negative outcome. :oldlol: For winning? Nah.. For lebron's stat sheet? Well that's all that matters to both of them.

Because they don't have his strength and athleticism.
That's his main weapon, he was blessed with that athleticism. As for other skills like shooting? He's pretty average, comparable to the average NBA player. Everything he's good at, he uses his athleticism to accomplish.

Once his athleticism starts falling.. you lebron fans are in for a rude awakening.. forget top 10 when his career starts sky diving :oldlol:
:wtf: LeBron has already developed post-moves (and still getting better). When his athleticism falls (who knows when it will, he came into the league a freak of nature so I doubt he will lose it like other players do) he can just move to full-time power forward and dominate the game there. It should be easy just by his size and power alone.

A perimeter player that shoots so rarely from the perimeter might be also unheard off.

What are you talking about? If you even watched Lebron you would know that the vast majority of his shots are jumpers, which he makes at decent clip these days. He's also attempting over 3 three-pointers a game and making better than 40% of them.

And besides, are you really gonna fault him for getting to the rim for easy buckets? Isn't that the entire point of the game?

Nope, it's not natural to want to get high efficiency shots and set up players. Everyone's gotta play hero ball like GawdBe and score 30 points on 25 shots.

Lebron was just trying to copy what David West did to them the other night, when he went 12 for 15 for 30 points. West did it on the champs though.

You make sound like getting a lay up is so easy... You must really diminish Shaq and Wilt's career going by your logic? You do know he drove the rim to get his points right? Please stop acting like you know anything about basketball or even watched the game.

Only the dumber Kobe fans criticize LeBron for this because they define greatness by how many turn around 3's over 4 defenders you hit in your career. Things like smart shot selection don't even enter the ranking process. I've never seen a player get criticized for not taking contested shots I don't see the logic.

actually it's not "insane", because dude mostly scores in the paint. A huge proportion of his points also come from fastbreaks. If you only take his FG from outside the paint, it'll be most likely around 40% or less.

Hell, last finals he shot 20% outside the paint.

B-ball reference actually lists Lebron as a pf this season. 82games suggests that he's played more minutes at the pf position than anything else. Yahoo sports has him listed as just a forward with no specification as to whether it's pf or sf. He actually vacillates between the 3 and 4 and honestly is neither just a perimeter nor a post player. He's more a hybrid.

I honestly hate listing guys like Lebron or Magic by one position, yes they might have started one position more than some other positions.... but they were ping-ponging between 4 positions/roles their entire life, they were much more than just ONE position, they were... everything... whatever you wanted.... they should simply be listed "Guard-Forward or Forward-Guard", its more correct...

and i dont know why B-ball reference lists him this season as PF, yes he does play PF (or PG) during substitution lineup/roster changes in the games a bit... but Lebron has always started SF this season

I just saw the highlights and not only did he score on 13 of 14, but he also made a pretty clutch shot (probably the most important shot of the night) with Miami up by 4 points with 40 seconds left. :applause:

And I saw all of his assists and many of them were great.

65% is still a huge portion of his shots no matter how you look at it. Lebron almost always receives the ball out around the 3-point line, if he's not bringing the ball up himself. He is definitely a perimeter based player and he has been for his entire career.

but when his team is down by 1... he gonna play hot potatoes with ray allen
