View Full Version : Pau Gasol out for 6 weeks, per Ken Berger CBS Sports

Yeah another Laker thread, suck it, this is important info.

Pau Gasol has a partial tear of his plantar fascia and is expected to be out at least six weeks, league source tells @CBSSports.

One option for Gasol is rehab, with estimated timetable of 6-8 weeks. Surgery would mean 10-12 weeks, with better chance of full recovery.

Gasol, who had an MRI in Boston today after injuring foot in Brooklyn last night, is expected to get a second opinion in the coming days.

Unsure how the Lakers/Dwight react to this.

Chuckbe to the rescue!

Actually I hope Nash continues his aggressiveness. He can pretty much average 17-18 apg on jumpers only.

And it looked like he was turning it around, offensively

Howard's going to have to suck it up and start playing for them.

Kinda upsets me cause Lakers will say they didn't make the playoffs this season due to injury even though I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have anyway. Without injuries, this woulda gone down as the biggest failure in history :oldlol:

btw: my agenda = I hate Dwight and want him to fail :D Feel bad for the other guys :(

Might as well get the surgery and work towards a 100% recovery. The Lakers were going nowhere before he went down, so either way it's a wasted season. Pau still has a lot of great basketball left in him. The guy really owes LA nothing considering it wasn't too long ago everyone connected to that organization (fans included) were blaming him for all of their woes and openly talking trade.

Here's to seeing the most skilled big in the league make a full recovery

Very sad end to his season...he should take the surgery route for sure and recover all the way. Lakers have shunned him at every turn and underrated his value to the team.

Something will have to hive this offseason because Gasol said in an interview this week that he doesn't think him and Dwight can play together under D's system. I'm thinking Lakers try their best to re-sign Dwight and then can D'Antoni for a coach that can use the roster's strengths.

Horrible and wasted season, an all-time failure really.

6-1 in their last 7 games, with wins over OKC and the Nets, this couldn't have come at a worst time. I had you guys penned in as the 8th seed come April, but some obstacles are too high for even the mighty Lakers to overcome.

Bad coach(es), ineffective systems, desolate defense, all the causes for the Lakers woes this season. But injuries will ultimately be the highlight of the year. Health was always a concern for this roster, Mitch shined light on that back in the summer. But, paired with very inconsistent and flat out embarrasing play, and the injuries were just the straws that broke the camel's already ****ed up back.

No lottery pick either? Ouch

Trade Dwight for pieces for next season (young dudes/picks) and just let this season go. It's ridiculous.

Out both Dwight and Pau. This makes making it to the playoffs 10 times harder. Dwight just might have to suck it up and play some ball. Especially with the upcoming games against the Celtics, Heat, etc. If we can't pull out at least a few wins, our season is pretty much over.

Hoping for a quick recovery.

I hope Pau has surgery on his foot and gets that shit fixed. I don't want him to try to rest it only to come back and get injured again. At this point who knows how the Lakers are going to finish the year; have surgery, rest, and get ready to either get traded or make a run in the playoffs/next year.

Pau needs to take the surgery. It's better to be fully healthy than be like 50% the rest of the year.
