Nice video dude. Some amazing dunks in there.

I enjoyed watching that much more than the experience of having to be put though some stupid freaking car being brought out onto the court to watch the guy not even jump over it properly...

Would rep if I posted more frequently than an average of once every 3 months...

can't believe nobody has done a 540 in a contest yet. I really don't think it would be that difficult with some practice time.

While all those dunks are insane, that last dunk by Gary Smith is something else. That may be the greatest and hardest dunk ever done. Trying a lay up version of that may take a couple hundred tries.

Someone else said in another thread that maybe somebody could do a somersault dunk like NBA Jam...

Not the most difficult dunk of the bunch, but that windmill over a crowd would make a sweet poster.

What's bad is that I haven't really even seen the NBA guys even TRY to any of these.

You get three chances in the dunk contest. Might as well try something crazy the first time and try to raise the bar.

I think JR Smith did the behind the back dunk but he got robbed by the judges...

Nice dunks.

However, with guys that athletic...if they spent their time working on their jumper, passing etc.. and actually learned how to play w a team... they'd probably have a shot at the league.

Oh, I definitely agree. A guy like Wiggins can do some of these dunks and he'll be either hte #1 or #2 pick. Also a guy like Aaron Gordon has a great shot has being a top pick in the league. That guy G. Smith, I saw him on "ball-up" and he also had a nice all around game. He's more of a scorer who happens to be able to do some amazing dunks.

The one I really want to see is the legit Manigaut double dunk (not the phony one tried this year with the one hand pulling the other arm up.)

The thing about it is that it may be incredibly impressive to do, but probably doesn't look that great.

I'm not sure, I think he may be mixed. He has some other nice videos on youtube also, more recent than this video. If you guys go to ballislife.com or hoopsmixtapes, you will find tons of great videos like this on guys like Wiggins and Dobbs, Gordon, Julius Randle, etc. Or you can also find them on youtube.

Youtube dunkers....
Is there a problem with that? And a lot of these guys are or will be division 1 college players and some of them will be in the NBA. Also, where else are you going to find these videos other than on youtube?:confusedshrug: Maybe not all the guys in this video but there are plenty others like this on youtube. So are you saying a guy like Air Up There is not legit because he plays in And 1 and his highlights are on youtube? Do you only count NBA players?

Apparently he has been practicing it.
It's a shame that when NBA finally has great dunkers, they decide to do some team sh!t without a winner...

They are running out of ideas for the All Star weekend. I might not even watch it to be honest, if it's anything like last year I will fall sleep.

the whole 360/540 degree dunks are misleading

in any of the 360 dunks, the man takes off 90 degree's before he jumps by turning his body, look at his feet position and body direction at take off

in the 540 dunk, he does a 180 after the ball has been thrown down so it shouldn't count IMO

still ... impressive to watch

in any of the 360 dunks, the man takes off 90 degree's before he jumps by turning his body, look at his feet position and body direction at take offI believe it's also worth seeing where a player's feet land as well. Many times I've seen folks attempt to withhold a 360 label because a player turns his feet prior to takeoff. Unfortunately, off two feet, that's the only way to create the torque necessary to induce a spin.

Many times though, a player's landing is overlooked. Players often finish facing away from the bucket, close to where their feet were initially planted. As such, that's why I've never really gotten into the "it's not a 360, it's a 270" debate. Then again, perhaps we are better off ridding of the degree calculations and just calling it a spinny.

I have a feeling some of the dunk contest participants watch these "never been done" type of videos..Wall and PG did like 3-4 of these dunks just this past year, a couple during the group round..and during the individual round Wall did the reverse pump over the guy holding the ball, and PG did the 360 through the legs. Then you have Wiggins who does the 360 behind the back seemingly before every game..

28. Windmill from the FT line.
29. Alley-Oop from the FT line.
30. Between the legs from the FT line.

All 50's and never done before in NBA, James White did them all pre-NBA.

This can only be done by uber distance leapers/one legged leapers.... right now in the NBA only Lebron & Zach Lavine are such.... Bron wont enter though, so Zach is the only hope.

Most of those require two-foot takeof to pull... and Zach is a one leg leaper (gets his max vert sprinting of one leg).... so i think Gerald Green would be the much better choice...

How about jumping over someone doing a 360?

Probably end up kicking them

I've said this before, possibly even in this thread but I'd love to see somebody do a double windmill, a 720 (or more) and a chest-to-chest poster dunk. If I were capable and in the dunk contest I'd do them.

A lot of contestants jump over teammates, what if they did it while the teammate was running toward them? Like Carter over Weiss?

Good point, dunno why I didn't think of that:facepalm

I still think Lavine can do some of them but you're right, that under the legs dunk, he could probably do it off one one leg but I don't think it would look as good as a guy doing it off of 2 feet...

This would be pretty ridiculous. I don't know if anyone can do it. I would think maybe Vince could have since he's probably the GOAT windmiller but he never entered another dunk contest and I've never seen him do it in warmups or practice footage.

I swear Jerome Kersey damn near tried something like that but it was a 1 legged jump...
