It's the boozing and smoking.

Nicotine and alcohol does funny things to your body.

Many fair to dark-skinned races, such as Filipinos and African-Americans and others, have profound deposits of subconjunctival fat. This contains high levels of carotene in adequate quantities to mimic jaundice. The fatty deposits grow to be denser as the distance from the cornea increases.

He isn't the image of health. He always has a cigar in his mouth so I wouldn't be surprised if he was drinking all of the time too.

He always had his eyes like that since his rookie year IIRC. His dad had it too. Genes.

I'm sure the drinking and smoking don't help but his eyes have been like that since early on. So yeah probably genes. In that latest ESPN piece it said he didn't start drinking until he was 27 when his doctor recommended to kick back a few every night for his insomnia.
