Hey was wondering if anyone else on here is a big fan of the rap battle scene? Some of the disses, rhymes and freestyles these dudes can come up is nothing short of insane/genius. I have never heard better punchlines and use of words in my life to diss someone like I have watching the URL (Ultimate Rap League) and KOTD (King of the Dot) and Grindtime (they ain't what they use to be).

If you are a fan feel free to share you favourite lines, your favourite battle emcees, favourite battle and anything else related to it like upcoming battles, news and so on.

My Top 5 Personal Favourites (not saying they the best)

1. Concieted: hes a little annoying dude but his lines are hilarious and he always is super interesting

2. DNA: Crazy lines and freestyles

3. Hitman Holla: crazy energy, sweet flow and amazing delivery

4. Kid Caustic: hilarious, witty super clever and takes on all challengers

5.Chilla Jones: Up and coming beast, the dudes disses and lyrics are out of this world

Fairly disappointing I was expecting more, the crowd was reacting to average lines Slay was saying like they were crazy.....on top of that the Arcane choke didn't help either.

Daylight said he would never come on URL again (cause they are unprofessional) and had a altercation with Smack afterwards where he knocked his hat off his head. He also said he plans to do the battle with Swave on KOTD in California or something along those lines.

This is a pretty decent list too. I'm tellin you guys, this shit is entertaining as hell. Surf Conceited is underrated and good as hell.

I actually gave it to Hollow 2-1. Huge Hollow fan and not really impressed by Surf. Either way it is a pretty competitive battle.

It all depends on round 2, Surf killed the first round and Hollow killed the last it's that 2nd round that's a bit iffy, I could see it going either way tbh. That Chris Webber/Michigan timeout line Hollow had in the 2nd was just nuts.

Caustic did crazy well considering he barley had any time to prepare you could tell half of his stuff was freestyles.

Yeah the battle vs. Thesaurus had me laughing hard when I watched it, they rebuttal'd a lot of what each other had to say great battle that one. Speaking of Don't Flop I wish Eurgh would come over and do more battles against the top tier guys he had killer battles against DNA, Pumpkinhead and a few more I can't think of right now. Seems like he's gone the Organik route where he's become like the Smack of England and more into promotion rather than battling.

I don't think Hollow is nearly as good as his following. If he wasn't from NY i t he'd be this overrated. I've seen a lot of his battles starting back years ago when i started watching fight klub and then grind time, and dude has never come off that great. i don't think he sucks, but definitely not a top 10 battler. I'd rank him at around the same level as his buddy Cortez, who was also very overrated for a long time, still may be.

my favorite battlers:

B Magic (sometimes his flow gets repetitive but the references keep me a fan, plus his still is really chill)

Chilla Jones (this man is basically a professor when it comes to schemes)

JC (didn't like him because hate when i see tiny non-threatening guys spit all that gun play, but the dude can really write. his 3rd round vs chilla was just bar after bar of body bagging)

Bill Collector (the dude is hilarious. so many battle rappers come with good metaphors or schemes and the gun play, but there is no style to it. Bill has style.)

M Ciddy (just overall good, and he's a got a good voice)

I like many others, but these guys are the best for me.

Just watched the Con vs. Hitman battle, the first 2 round were crazy than the clowns and idiots in the crowd just started boo'ing Hitman cause they thought he didn't write a 3rd round when he clearly did and they just killed the whole battle. On top of that they didn't even react to most the hotlines in the first two rounds.

I had Hitman first round, Con 2nd and moron's in the crowd 3rd so a draw for mine, shame idiots who don't understand anything have to ruin a perfectly good battle. They need to bring in the KOTD crowds for URL, the URL crowds are why to disrespectful and don't appreciate great rap. There is just to much bias in particular in URL far more than KOTD.

Prior to the release, Hitman had been complaining about Smack taking money out his pocket by not releasing the battle. Everyone was feeling the same way and annoyed with Smack...but now i see why Smack didn't want to release it.

First two rounds...not a bad battle at all, but the whole thing went to hell in the third. If Hitman really did write a third round, he did a great job of making it appear as if he didn't , which is pretty unprofessional.

I know the crowd occasionally jumps the gun, but it really did seem like both of them just said screw the crowd for the third round. I got a very nwo-kliq-vibe in that third round from Con and Hit.

In regards the URL stuff with dude's getting boo'd and fans getting restless since the event go for ****ing ever. They should set a 3 min time limit per round (stop the clock if the crowd goes berserk). That why the emcees are forced to say there best stuff with no surplus of filler, watching a battle for 40mins is just to long (even longer if you in the crowd cause it's uncut") to me the best battles are the short and sweet ones with time limits. They need a shot clock or something at the events imo 3 mins with a pauses for crowd reaction is plenty of time to come up with something genius.

I gave round 1 to Ars and Round 2...that whole Diz making up a story (true or not) I thought was whack even though the crowd loved it and 3rd round probably Diz. Dizaster since the DNA battle/grindtime days is nowhere near as good now imo, to much lame freestyles most of which are not that good and his written stuff have taken 1/2 a step back as well.

Just peeped that battle yesterday, very good. I agree that URL battles take way too much time. Most battlers just use filler instead of packing extra punches with takes away from the good lines.

I can appreciate a battle over a beat, but I've come to realize the best quality battles are a capella. There are certain battlers who are know for freestyling/rebuttaling their opponents lines, but with the way people are writing now a days, it is so difficult to compete that way. Total Slaughter was a mess of a PPV. For one, most people's stream wouldn't load. I caught it bootleg on YouTube. Idk if it was the bootleg sound, but the crowd didn't seem that great. It seemed like a lot of stuff went over their head. Rap battle only looks good in the mainstream if its being done by people who regularly produce battle rap (KOTD, URL, etc).

Arsonal killed Big T (as expected). Big T has never been amazing, but before the influx of all these great PG dudes he and other vets seemed a lot better. Arsonal is a professional at this by this point. I used to hate him but now he's one of my favorites. Check him out vs QP (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvICR3bjas8), it was a pretty good battle.

Daylyt is getting really played out. His antics are just stupid now. Dude did some way weird shit at the end of the battle that wasn't funny or shocking, just uncomfortable to watch. I give the battle to T Rex.

Mook pretty much bodied Lux. Lux came with the same approach as the last few battles, making him seem like a one trick pony. Mook had personals and bars, while Lux just preached but it didn't work on Mook.

Joe Budden wasn't bad, but i felt like Hallow took the battle. I'd like to see Budden do another battle as he had some hot bars. I'm not really a fan of Hallow but i think he showed up and represented well.

Nah I don't rap at all but I just love creativity in anything I watch and that is what battle rap is to me the punchlines/schemes are just genius, it's like say in basketball I love when someone can do nice tap passes (like say Marc Gasol)and make just natural instinct spur of the moment moves not many others can make.

I just like watching natural talent which is not forced creativity in humans is a wonderful thing.

BTw I know someone on here was talking about Xcel here is a another CRAZY battle between Xcel and Stash on the proving grounds, man the proving ground battle this season has been beyond crazy. I really didn't see it going any other way tbh, like Rex is consistent but he's never been amazing to me, he does his thing but never ever blows you away, Clips going at a C+ level is better than Rex on his A game. In all honest the UFF/PG battles skills/lyrics wise are on a higher level than the main stage, these younger guys coming up are just insane.
