Ya he got Shaq to behave for a sec. Definitely not staged. The show has had such great chemistry for so long that has to be annoying as hell to have Shaq in there.

I don't totally hate Shaq on there, but it would be so much better with CWebb instead.
I wish I wasn't busy last night because it looked like it was only Kenny, EJ, Chuck. Would've been a nice change of pace to see that.

Nothing. He's a big name, and big names mean more money for TNT. We're stuck with him until he thinks he can act in movies again and leaves.

TNT's ratings are worse than last year without Shaq, someone had an article on RealGM verifying this or they somehow looked it up but if that's the case why wouldnt the TNT execs just axe the guy
Entire series are canceled due to fans reactions / low ratings, but they cant bite the bullet and pay off Shaq's contract and send him packing
Or hell pay him the money and only put him on once a month

Shaq sucks man. And TNT with Ernie, Kenny, Charles and sometimes C-Webb (or Gary Payton or Kevin Mchale) made for some of the best television on the planet, not just in basketball.
So we'll keep complaining and changing the channel at half time and right after the game (which is what the ratings stats brought up in this thread say seems to be happening) until he's gone.

I hate how Shaq yells out random shit like two or three times in a row while others are trying to talk or present a highlight.
Something like this:
Ernie: "Let's take a look at this highlight. LeBron James nails the jumper on..."
*Shaq interrupts and yells*

Isn't Chuck leaving after this season? I hope they get rid of Shaq, too. That'd just leave Ernie and Kenny maybe w/ CWebb rotating. If we're limited to NBATV/TNT guys, Brent Barry is my favorite analyst (overall as well) and I think he's deserving of the TNT gig. 3D and Steve Smith are also nice and better than CWebb, imo.
But I'd only want 3 regulars w/ a 4th guy rotating maybe once a month. 4 ppl on the set seems too crowded and sloppy. ...well, w/ Shaq at least. CWebb's done some good segments as the 4th guy, so who knows.
But seriously, TNT, tell Shaq to gtfo.

But Inside the NBA is ruining that image I had of him. It's like he tries too hard on the show to be funny, and when others make a joke at his expense, he can't laugh at himself, he gets defensive and starts bragging about his stats or something silly.
He just doesn't have good chemistry with the others on the set.

I'm glad that others share my sentiment on this, he is beyond bearable. He literally seems to have the mental development of a 14 year old, I find it hard to picture him interacting in real life with real adults.

Shaq was actually great when he wasn't on the show. When they'd interview him or he just do some random stuff, he was great.
But since he got the gig, something has happened, and it's not good.

He's always been funny on camera until he joined Inside the NBA. He's even funny on Open Court, but on Inside the NBA, he's terrible.

Wonder how one of the Van Gundy's would be in the studio. Them getting a former coach on there could be cool, that way we could have someone other than Kenny breaking down plays on that badass gigantic video board. Of course they had McHale on their for awhile and that wasn't too good, but better than Shaq at least.
Just all about chemistry though. That's why Webber, who's generally great, didn't really work, he was pretty quiet and deferred to his elders a lot. They should dump Shaq and just have a bunch of guys rotate every week for like 2 months until they find a good fit. Try and poach Van Pelt or Stan Virette from ESPN maybe.

he's funny in the locker room and with friends and family.

If the vast overwhelming majority thread alone isn't enough to show that should be Shaq fired then I don't know what is. Everyone I know can't stand him. Has ruined what was almost the best show on TV. Which sucks because that show made a lot of NBA fans crack up and be happy.
Even worse, he ruins the flows making Barkley less funny. Which is tough to do, but Shaq is so bad he manages to do it.

Barkley is the show. As much as I like Kenny and EJ he is the one who drives the show.
Kenny is underrated bc of Barkleys (deserved) shine. Kenny is solid all around. He can crack jokes and he can articulate analysis and has good timing with when to do each. Also, bc he had the opposite career of barkley (won titles but as a less significant player) they can do different kinds of gags when they rip on him than they do with Charles.
Plus Ernie and Kenny are close enough with Shaq that they can razz him without getting him legit pissed off. A lot of times when guys who arent regulars come on and try to make Chuck the butt of jokes you can tell hes not down with it.
It really should be EJ-Kenny-Charles as the weekly core, and then rotating regulars who have good chemistry with them dropping in periodically (cwebb, reggie, kerr, etc)
