Let's get some of the facts out in the air first. Career wise Kobe is million miles ahead of VC. Peak wise easily Carter> Kobe. Anyone who disagrees with any of these statements is an idiot because these are FACTS.

Now what I'd like to discuss is; who was the better individual player during the first 12 years of their careers?

Kobe in his first 12 years;

25.3/5.3/4.7/45.2%

Carter in his first 12 years;
24.2/5.7/4.4/44.9%

Stats wise they're pretty much the same but let's not forget Vince was the better man to man and also a help defender, and he was also a lot more clutch than Kobe. He was more competitive and had a never back down attitude. It's clear that all the intangibles are in VC's favor.

So looking at their first 12 seasons, who was the better player? My vote goes to VC!

How on earth is VC's peak better than Kobe's?

:roll:You literally stated the exact opposite of the truth in every point you just made. Clutchness is the only thing you mentioned that you can argue about.

Carter was far more athletic, a better shooter from 3, and more clutch.
Kobe was a better defender and scorer but more importantly put more effort into his career and would find ways to win better than Carter.

Carter and Tmac had such ridiculous potential and kind of wasted it in a sense. As Carter said before, he wouldn't practice as hard as he could have because his athleticism was enough to easily be a superstar and franchise player. If he had Kobe's drive, he and his cousin could have been better players.

Kobe definitely benefited from being on better teams, but the only thing VC has on Kobe individually is that he was more athletic. I don't think anyone was more athletic than VC was.

Wince Carter being compared to Kobe? That ship sailed quite a while ago. Carter was an excellent player for about 5 minutes, Kobe is a legend.

Kobe was a bench player first few years, otherwise as starter his stats would be higher.

No comparison at all.

Everything the OP said about VC is the opposite.:oldlol:

Kobe 03 or circa 06-08 crushes any version of Carter. Get real.

and even that's debatable. Jumping high isn't the only thing that makes you athletic. Vince isn't that great of an athlete compared to Bryant.

Kobe does everything well where VC only jumps high but he lacked quickness, speed and lateral movement.

He moves like a retard out there...tbh

come on you seriously aren't going to argue this are you? Vince is probably the greatest athlete the NBA has ever seen. Yes there is more the athleticism that jumping high but Vince outclasses Kobe in this category.

Nah, Vince certainly is a better 3 point shooter too.

As far as clutch goes, I believe both Kobe and Vince are number 1 and 2 in game winning makes, from active players, and I think Vince has a better conversion ratio too. But you account the playoffs and Kobe is definitely better in the clutch, for an entire playoff run to gauge.

You're contradicting yourself with the post.

You have already said there is more to it than jumping. I say Kobe's has VC beat in every single department physically besides jumping.

Kobe's faster on the court, quicker, more agility, quicker lateral movement and better reflex than VC.

He has always played faster and quicker than VC.

It's A VC3!!!

If Vince and Shaq played together they would have won 4-6 rings. Their would have been no hostility between them two and Shaq would have pushed Vince one notch higher. Vince one notch higher would have been scary.

There is no doubt who the better athlete today was. One thing for certain you can judge someone's past athletic ability on how they are playing now.

VC could only jump and very noticeable that he can't do it anymore and you would have thought I was lying if I said he could jump back in the days.

Where Kobe hardly looks like he lost a step and freaking moves so fluidly.

lol. So your contention is that Shaq would have pushed Vince Carter to be better than he actually was? The same Shaq who didn't want to get in shape, waited to address his injuries until it was on "company time" and missed games because of it. Bro, Kobe was the one trying to push Shaq to get in shape and focus on more rings not the other way around.

Snack O'Neal and Wince Carter = zero rings.
