Tim Duncan- Outlet Passing

The last two seasons I've noticed that a lot of San Antonio's fastbreaks start with Duncan either blocking a shot or getting a rebound and making a great outlet pass to a streaking guard. I've personally never seen a big man do this better (Only seen a few games/vids of Bill Walton and Kevin Love is pretty good too). I found this mix of some of Timmy's outlets that for some random reason features a Keith Sweat track :wtf:

Great call. That's become his bread and butter this season. I don't think it should count as a rebound though, but it's effective :lol

maybe not a skill persay but westbrook has the softest touch of any midrange jumpshot i've ever seen. the way the ball gently rolls over the front of the rim and off the glass is unreal.

paul on the break when he's ahead of a guy, using his body as a barricade. it's a douchey move for sure but i use it and it works wonders... and cp3 is the master. any chance this becomes an offensive foul in certain situations once guys start to abuse it?

just watching splitter tonight, he's got amazing instincts for when/where to set a screen and roll to the hoop. also re spurs, though i haven't really seen it tonight i've always been really impressed by manu's ability to split the double with a pass to his big in the middle of the key. most guys miss the opportunity and the lane closes whereas manu times it perfectly without without ever telegraphing the play

antawn jamison's name doesn't really belong in this thread but that dude has the quickest fking hands ever. he's like clint eastwood

him too. though he seems to be better creating space off the dribble, occasional turn arounds, etc. i was more thinkin catch and shoot.

Although I'm going position specific, no other center has the handle the Jo Noah has. Remarkable talent when he grabs a rebound, and run an effective break by himself.

Noah is also the best big man high post passer, perimeter defender, offensive tip in guy and best yeller after contact dunks.

Marc and Pau Gasol are both in that category as well.

And Boozer is the best yeller after anything happens.

I would throw Westbrook in there for his hesitation dribble. Ever since he's started doing that he's been even more deadly off the dribble.

CP3 is probably the best in the league at keeping his dribble alive in traffic. He almost never has to pick the ball up. Only one I think comes close is Kyrie.

And good call by Ridonks on Manu's passing ability to his bigs in the lane in traffic.

It's strange that all the people mentioning Bron didn't bring up his chase down blocks. I'd say that's the one thing he does clearly better than anyone else, possibly in the history of the game.

Durant's signature 15+ free-throws a game. :facepalm

On topic though, LeBron's chase-down blocks, Kobe's signature pump-fake draw the foul, Wade's euro-step.

There are players whose shots you wonder how can this be so pretty and unstoppable.

1. Melo - Hard dribble quick pullup mid range J.
2. Pierce - Step back fade
3. Dirk - High release Fade.
4. Kobe - turnaround J.

Crawford's crossover is absurd as well.

This is something I associate with MJ. Kobe doesn't really use the baseline turnaround on the catch much. Especially today. Can you find some plays from this season?

Wade probably has the best pump fake. Always gets his defender up.

CP3 is the best at splitting pick n rolls and always keep his dribble on.

LeBron has the best timing on chase down blocks.

Kobe has the best balance on pull up jumpers off the dribble.

z-bo probably has teh softest hands on tip-ins in the league

tony parker has the best floater in the league, and for a small guy with pretty average hops, hes amazingly good at finishing at the rim.

james harden has a pretty unique driving ability. he always seems to just be able to overpower guys, and not have to change direction much as he goers to the rim. hes really direct, and doesnt ever have to shake a guy out of his shoes. really shifty.
