Pretty much.
If Cleveland couldn't surround Bron with high level talent...can't do Irving.
.
I will cheer the day he leaves and becomes a superstar.

Lebron has took over playoff series and single handedly set the Wizards franchise back by 5 years with his clutch plays. How can the regular season wonder even compare to the King?

If it happens he won't need 5 years. He needs a year or two more on offenst and 2-3 years on defense if committed and talented enough. If not, he will never be the best in the NBA. If he is talented enough he will be the best player in 3 years.

Are you implying LeBron James was never the best player in the league during his time in Cleveland? What does one thing have to do with the other?

No dude lebron was.He scored over 60ppg in crunch time and cavs with lebron has been the clutchest team we have ever seen by a good margin.
He had a per of 50+ and was averaging triple double in crunch time.
You can check the stats from 82games.com/clutch stats. Also they only lost 5 close games if my memory serves me right. They were scary good in crunch time during regular season

If anyone is going to overtake LeBron it's going to be Durant.
Kyrie is an amazing player but ISH posters are way too obsessed with "potential" opposed to actual results.

When was the last time a PG was the best player in the league?
Even with the NBA's ridiculous rules that now pamper small guards, I find it hard to claim a PG is the best player in the NBA, considering their typically negligible defensive contributions.

No.
That goes to Marcus LoVett Junior

Maybe, Irving makes his team mates look better, lebron makes them look worse.

Huh?
I'll ask again and hopefully get a more coherent response. Are you (or any of the above posters) insinuating that LeBron James was never the best player in the league in any of his seven years in Cleveland?

Nope best he can hope for is title of top pg in league.

Lebron has also 18 gamewinning shots with Cavs & 3 in the playoffs... im not sure if Kyrie will manage even half of that during his entire NBA career... and has some historic clutch / playoff clutch game performances which Kyrie wont be able to touch either...
I like Kyrie and all but stop overrating please, the guy is no better than a Westbrook or something...

True I'd rather have my scrub teammates look good than go deep in the playoffs every year

I really think he has a shot but I doubt it will take 5 years if he is to become the best player in the NBA.

No, he won't.
LeBron will still be in his prime in 3 years and Irving's ceiling does not reach where LeBron is right now.
Athletically LeBron won't be in his prime but his overall game still will be and it's better than what Irving is even remotely ****ing capable of.

Why would anyone root for the Phins down in Florida? Sucked for a decade never liked their game (live in NY now). As for being a Heat fan when you have to pick between D Wade going ham on everyone or boring ass Dwight Howard your going to pick the Heat 11 times out of 10.

Calm down there. :lol
We're not talking about Jordan or Kobe, we first have to see how LeBron changes his game once his athleticism fades. Til then, impossible to tell.

No, he won't.
I wouldn't bet he will myself. But I think IF he can he will do it sooner. We are about to know in a year or two what hes ceiling is. He is young, but mature as a player. If he gets a lot better he will get a lot better soon, especially on offense. If he doesn't get a lot better than he is now in, say, 2 years then he is not likely to improve a lot later on. Defense needs more time, but 3-4 years max.
