Kind of if you think about it for a moment. There were a lot of ball movements that could've been a turnover from Miami which made it tense.

and to the guys saying he tried to contest lebrons dunk. He didnt. I doubt he even realized it was lebron. He say dwade flip the ball up to someone and he wanted to tap it out of the way. If he knew lebron was skying to ream him, he'd of moved out the way as fast as anyone in the league

Ill tell u why this was sooo much better then DeAndre Jordans dunk.

1. Lebron isn't a 7ft center

2. Jason Terry can be quite the trash talker at times

3. This was Heat vs Celtics

4. The 2pts actually mattered

5. The fact that they make Terry twist and turn and ultimately he finds himself facing a runaway freight train......just awesome.

Like honestly he never stood a chance.. like Brandon Knight at least was able to identify what was possibly coming and he consciously decided for whatever dumb reason to challenge it....this was so much better.

Ehhh, Dunking on a smaller player usually doesn't impress me. LeBron has more highlight dunks on smaller guys than he does on bigs. Like LeBron jumping over a point guard when Vince Carter did it over a center. Props to guys like Terry and Knight for contesting those shots when centers today rarely do.

2011 NBA Finals

Jason Terry: 18.0ppg on .494
Lebron James: 17.8ppg on .478

Mavericks win 4-2, despite Heat being comprised of 3 top ten players who all consciously came together to make the most stacked team of all time.

I do not see what everyone is celebrating here. Wow, Lebron James did a slam dunk on a much shorter and much inferior player in the regular season. Good for him. He couldn't outplay him or beat him in the Finals, though.

People are bringing up finals cause they are at point where they are scrambling to find ways to still critisize LBJ. I critisized Lebron for mentally failing in the finals but now that he cleared the mental hurdle and that side has caught up with his pysical dominance he is showing what all the hype was about since HS.. Aka the "Chosen one"

Because the dunk isn't important.

And it doesn't make Terry "Lebron's bitch." Lebron could retire the greatest of all time. He'll be the best NBA player for a decade straight. And yet Terry still outperformed him in a Finals series. He has something on Lebron that one dunk can't take away.

That's all. Terry is farther from being "lebron's bitch" than almost any player in the NBA. He showed up big and was an integral part of a team that upset him in the Finals. *That's* embarrassing. Getting dunked on once is not.

03-19-2013, 04:14 PM
That's a foul on Lebron. The dunk shouldn't have counted. When the ball is thrown in the air like that, it's almost considered a jump ball.

Notice Terry jumps straight up first and Lebron comes bull rushing in and hitting Terry.

You can not rush into a defender when he is already in the air.

The NBA has been missing a lot of calls lately that they said won't be allowed. Like Jones cutting Kobe and Terry jumping straight up.

Not to Lebron. Did you catch the tech he caught after the dunk? He has personal beef with Terry. Terry is in his head to a certain extent. He meant that dunk to banish a demon from his past. It won't, though.

He got not just challenged, but actually outperformed by a way inferior player in a playoff (nevermind finals) series. This is a stain on his legacy that, for example, MJ doesn't have. The world's greatest player average less than 20ppg in the Finals against a mediocre defensive team? Unimaginable. Being unable to show up a trash talking bench player during that same series? Unimaginable.

It would be like Jordan only being able to hang 20ppg on 45% on John Starks, and the Knicks beating the Bulls, and Starks outscoring MJ. That kind of thing does not happen, and it's difficult to even imagine it happening. But it did to Lebron.

The stigma of the 2011 Finals was mostly wiped away when LeBron won the title. He went from perennial loser/choker to a potential GOAT player in one night. If LeBron continues to win titles, few people will look back on 2011 in his overall legacy. Dallas fans, and LeBron's haters, will never forget it, but how often is 2011 even brought up anymore on here except from the people who bash LeBron? It's one of those things that will be forgotten.

Now if we're comparing him to Jordan, then yes I agree. However, I don't think he will ever reach Jordan anyways.

I agree with all this. The world's totally forgotten about that finals series.

But Lebron hasn't. He grew up watching Jordan average 35ppg in like every playoff series no matter how nasty the defense. He knows that for the best player in the world to not even manage 20ppg in a Finals series is a (probably) unprecedented level of failure. And of course Jason Terry, the undisputed King of Can't Shut the F*ck Up since Payton retired, is probably the guy who sticks out most in his memory from that series. So getting him with the jam of the decade probably felt awesome.

But I still feel the need to remind everyone that Lebron's status as Basketball God is veeeery recent, and has been acquired much faster than anyone else's. He was an exemplar of postseason futility and disappointment less than twelve months ago. Just because the Heat have won like 50 games straight and are the reigning champs and the Mavs have completely collapsed as a franchise overnight does not change the reality of *very* recent history. Neither does a sick dunk on the Jet. Lebron has a few years to go before he actually cements himself as the GOAT candidate everyone's rushing to anoint him as.
