Shouts out to Shane clutch defense(last couple plays against jeff green)and clutch basketball iq(throwing the ball off of pierce back to end the game) ... Also a key player in 2nd and 3rd longest winning streaks in nba history:rockon: :applause:
it's hard to shine with stars as bright as LBJ and D wade so here's to Shane:cheers:

Shane Battier is a ring chasing *****. I hope he never wins another ring. He was never clutch for Houston and last year he was hitting every 3 during the finals. Ring chasing ***** can go **** himself. He's the most unclutch rockets player I have ever seen. Where the **** where his 3s as when Houston needed them against Utah? ***** ****
all hail the gawd Shane Einstein

Battier is the perfect role player for this team. Great defender, good shooter. He's very important to this team.

To the poster who said "Battier doesn't shine as bright as D-Wade or Lebron" he's probably the reason why they shine so much as it is. Always taking the hard defensive assignments so Lebron doesn't use up his fouls to early and a good piece to the puzzle on offense.
Great pickup by the Heat.

best player on the Heat after Wade, Bosh, and Allen. :applause:
There was a reason Riley came out the gates and said **** a mediocre big man, and offered the mini MLE to Shane.
Heady player. Winner. And now that he's back to hitting the 3 at a proficient rate over the course of an entire season, even better for Miami.
Actually that block was the only good play by him tonight, the throw of Pierce back was smart and all but wouldnt matter if it didnt happen as there was 1 sec left, someone would shoot FTs anyways and Celtics would have 0.1-0.9 sec left to hoist a hail mary shot up being down 3-4 points...... but overall the rest of the game he was not so good offensively and had a horrible night defensively where he let Green score almost all of the 43 points on him...
If he didnt get that block and if Lebron didnt go ham like that then if you want to blame one guy for that hypothetical loss tonight it would be actually Battier...

start attacking the guy that extended heat's streak
He really frustrated me last year with his shooting, but he came through (to say the least) in the Finals so I was happy. This year he's been shooting much better from 3. Very crafty play at the end :applause:

Its not an attack, its what happened and also what could have hypothetically happened if there was no block and no Lebron taking over the game... now stop with the whining and your agenda and give credit where its due...
Damn, forgot, ok now you go to ignore list

I can't speak for Battier's performance against other teams while playing for the Rockets, but he has always been clutch against the Lakers:
Battier game winner opening night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCccONZyl5E)
Battier takes over late in fourth (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cPeGvRsiCc)
Kobe gets him back though (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZJsYX0zAE8)
I appreciate Battier's game. Everything you want from a role player. Great defense, great three point shooter, high IQ, intangibles and he seems like a great locker room guy. I would love him on the Lakers.
Battier has been great last year too with underrated clutch defense and playoff 3's. He fits the Heat system perfectly and has had good to great performances when the Heat needed it the most.

True. Never a great athlete but just a big-time defensive player in his best days, and he knocked down some shots too.

Wade always said he was the smartest person on the team when they played together. Seems like he would be great Coach, Defense first of course.

here's my compliment to him.
if you talk trash to him, and he responds, it might actually means that you are smart.
:oldlol:
Man it was sad seeing him so washed up that Final Heat season. Spolestra abused that guy. Was just as important as Lebron to the defense.
