Bird pretty much deserved it. If some of you are old enough to have watched Bird, you can back me up on this. Bird was no angel. He was a very dirty player himself.

All those videos of him so-called hustling and diving for the ball. Well, that's what players hated about him. He would dive at people's knees and throw his body into their legs. Those are career ending.

That's why he was so hated by the Pistons and hall of famer, Julius Erving.

Players didn't hate Bird because he dived for loose balls. That is ridiculous.

However Bird was rough and talked a lot of trash. He had no problem giving hard fouls or cheap shots at times and never backed down from a fight.

Bird definitely did his share. He was a very gritty player, took a lot of hits, and also dished out his share. But to compare him to Laimbeer and Rodman is ridiculous.

They did hate him for diving. Go
try and do that at the playground and see what happens. This is on a pro level and Bird should not try and hurt others.

There was a reason why Erving whooped his ass.

lol! It's cuz Bird was destroying him that game and was talking trash.

Bird scored 27 points in the first half. And in the the 3rd quarter, Bird hit 5/6 shots, and the 76ers were getting really pissed off that they were getting beat to by their rivals, so they did a bunch of hard fouls and the game got a little physical. Both the Celts and the 76ers pushed, elbowed and fouled each other more often as the game went on. Dr. J had a tough time scoring that game too.

A play or before they fought, you can hear Bird talking to Dr.J. Bird really wanted to post up Dr. J, and he got the ball. He was saying something (out loud too) like "Just you and me, Doc! Just you and me!" The team cleared out for an iso, and Bird backed him down to try to score. So it build up throughout the game.

When Dr. J fouled Bird, he thought Bird was going to hit him because of the way he was approaching him. It kind'a looked like that way too. So, Dr. J just started to pull the first punches.

First of all people in the playground aren't playing for money. Secondly if someone did dive for a loose ball on a playground he would probably be laughed at.

Secondly Bird was destroying Irving in that game and talking a lot of smack which he usually did.

Wait a second, is this the fight where Barkley grabbed bird from behind and bear hugged him while Dr. J supposedly whooped his ass?

Bird was a good player in that era but because of his greatness in that era, please don't disregard the fact that he was the ultimate dirty player.

They should move the top of the 3 point arc back about 9 inches to spread the floor more and force only those guys who can really make three pointers to take those shots.

Have you ever tried to hit NBA 3's? Those shits are deep as **** , I could never hit them lol

All while Bird is still in a headlock from behind

Dr. J mad cuz Bird had damn near 40 through 3 quarters...straight torching him
