Robertson was #1 for about 4 years and it was at the end of his career. Wade has had a better career than AI and was better at his peak.

Well I can already say Lebron >Russell talent wise.. it is just he needs the Longevity and a few more championships before general public Ranks Lebron ahead of Him.

Tall Tales: The Glory Years of the NBA - Terry Pluto

The Black Athlete: Emergence & Arrival - 1968

No one in basketball is more effective than Hal Greer at sprinting down the middle of the court on a fast break, stopping just beyond the keyhole and scoring on a jump shot. "Hal," said one NBA coach, "has the finest middle-distance shot in the game." From fifteen to eighteen feet, Greer is more deadly than the Big O." At 6 ft. 3 in. and 178 pounds, Greer frequently gives away 40 pounds and 6 inches to NBA adversaries assigned to shutting off the middle. The key to Greer's success, therefore, is maneuverability and speed. Particularly speed.

Great teams of pro basketball - 1971

First there was Hal Greer, one of the best guards in the game. He was fast. "I must be fast," Greer said, "always, always quick. The day I slow down I'm finished." And he was a constant scoring threat. Said his former coach, Dolph Schayes, "Hal has the finest middle-distance shot in the game. From 15 to 18 feet, Hal is more deadly than Oscar Robertson." At 6'2", 175 pounds, Greer was agile, strong and not prone to injury. An eight-year veteran of NBA play, he could be counted on to average 20 points a game and contribute steadily in assists.

Star Guard on a Team for the Ages

I like my list better. It didn't exclude the number 88 (Batum). It also clarifies more of the top players (for example, no need listing Pippen with Jabbar at #33 when Jabbar is clearly better).

Batum was on my list before you mentioned it.

Didn't Ben Wallace wear #3? Not saying he's better than D-Wade but you have several guys for some numbers and only one for others.

For certain numbers it's blatantly obvious who was the best player and on some of the higher numbers only a few people ever wore the number.

If your giving KG 5, then you have to put Pierce for 34.

1 McGrady, Hardaway, Billups, Oscar

I'd take out Milwaukee Oscar and put in Amar'e.

4 Webber, Sidney Moncrief, Dumars

I think Adrian Dantley (78-86) should definitely be in there, at least ahead of Moncrief/Dumars. Possibly Moses Malone (87-88) too.

10 Walt Frazier

I'd put Tiny Archibald's first four seasons for consideration after Walt. Especially 72-73 where he led the league with 34 PPG and 11.4 APG.

11 Isiah Thomas, Elvin Hayes

Maybe Bob McAdoo at third? Otherwise he won't be on the list at all and I think he deserves a spot.

14 Oscar

Bob Cousy second?

24 Kobe, Rick Barry

Moses Malone from 78-82 should probably be there.

27 Kyle Korver, Jack Twyman

I don't think Korver's ever worn 27, only 26. He might deserve a spot over Turkoglu there since Hedo only wore 26 for one year in Toronto.

40 Kemp

I'd put Bill Laimbeer second.
