Nat Holman, Joe Lapchick, Dutch Dehnert... those Original Celtics teams had so many pioneers and innovators, I wish there was more footage of them playing.

if you had to choose the greatest player for each decade (any league) how would it go?

2010s LeBron
2000s Shaq
1990s Jordan
1980s Kareem
1970s Wilt
1960s Russell
1950s Cousy
1940s Mikan
1930s Luisetti
1920s Holman
1910s Sedran
1900s Hough

?

Thats probably why Kobe won player of the decade, because shaq was POTD. wait what?

Al Cooper. He played for the Trentons. Led the NBL in scoring for the 1898-99 season with 8.8 points per game. They won the championship after going 18-2.

Kareem was the best player in the 1970s. Bird or Magic were best in the 1980s. My list would be as follows:

2010s LeBron James (honorable mention: Kevin Durant)
2000s Shaquille O'Neal (honorable mention: Tim Duncan)
1990s Michael Jordan (honorable mention: Hakeem Olajuwon)
1980s Magic Johnson (honorable mention: Larry Bird)
1970s Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (honorable mention: Julius Erving)
1960s Bill Russell (honorable mention: Wilt Chamberlain)
1950s Bob Cousy (honorable mention: Bob Pettit)
1940s George Mikan (honorable mention: Joe Fulks)
1930s Hank Luisetti (honorable mention: Bobby McDermott)
1920s Nat Holman (honorable mention: Benny Borgman)
1910s Barney Sedran (honorable mention: Jack Inglis)
1900s Harry Hough (honorable mention: Ed Wachter)

Not sure how good of a list it is considering tha Kareem's prime was in the 70s, and Wilt's prime was in the 60s.

Edward A. Wachter (June 30, 1883 – March 12, 1966) was one of the first professional basketball players. The 6 ft. 1 in. Wachter is widely regarded as the greatest center of the 1910s.

6 foot 1 center!
