Outside of a death, has just happened in the NCAA Elite 8 game between Duke/Louisville.

The players faces and coaches were just astounding. it was sheer terror. I dont think i have ever seen anything like that.

Quite honesly I've been playing the game for more than 15 yrs since i was a kid and watching the game for longer. I thought i have seen all kinds of injuries on the basketball courts. the ACL tears usually get me the worse because they're usually the career destroying kind. but this injury was just unprecedented. The most scary thing is that it happened on a routine play and the guy's leg just snapped in half. It was shocking

Beyond terrible. I've seen guys break bones and even an occasional dislocation, but this was your typical broken bone multiplied by 10. Can't help but feel for the kid. Reminds me very much of Shaun Livingston's injury.

If you people havent seen the injury and dont want to watch, All i have to say is remember last year's Knicks/Heat series in game 4 i think. Remember how Baron Davis' knee seemingly exploded and the Miami bench and players faces said it all? It was like that but 10x worse.

Did Joe Theismann return? Ware's injury is at least equal, if not worse.

Napoleon McCallum (NFL) had a similar injury and he suffered ruptured arteries, tore the calf from the bone, in addition to torn ligaments and the fracture, they almost amputated his leg before it finally healed. He didn't play again.

Joe Theismann was like 36 at the time, in the later stages of his career. This kid has the advantage of youth.

That's fine if it's an ACL. This is an injury that can result in amputation if ligaments and arteries are damaged beyond repair.

I haven't seen this injury, but the Baron Davis injury wasn't too bad. I can watch that again and not feel sick. I have a feeling I'll throw up all my Easter food if I watch this video.

The ball player's leg snaps kind of like Rob Huebel's leg in this Human Giant skit (but much worse especially since it's real): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGCmAM6Oafc#t=50s

Incredibly, this wasn't a career-ender. Rehab will be lengthy, but he's expected to make a full recovery. His surgery was already a success.

The closest thing to that on an NBA court is probably Shawn Livingston's broken leg, and, at least for me, when TJ Ford got knocked by Al Horford in the air and fell head first.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVyzW7KQ0eMI don't know anything about hockey, looks like the guy got hit from behind and his skate went up and caught the goalie by accident. There's no way it was intentional right?

Ive seen tibia bones break before in sports a couple of times, but it all happened for very understandable reasons, someone kicking, someone landing sideways, landing on something and so on........ but NEVER have i seen tibia break like that... the guy simply just jumped up, came down and the leg gave up like the leg was made out of a toothpick.... like he had never digested calcium (milk, fish etc.) in his life or something....

He can get back fully repaired after this, hell the bone will heal up to be even stronger, no problem, as long as the injury didnt damage the arteries/ligaments to much.
