will that happen?

Unless he makes 4-5 threes a game than no. Funny thing is he probably won't even play all 7 games. That fragility.

Do they play the Heat before the end of the season? Because I can see LeBron/Wade/Battier totally hounding him all game and leaving other people open just to help Ray keep the record, even if it costs them the game.

I can see him sitting out at least 1 more game the remainder of the season, so no i dont think he'll get it this season. But i can see him getting it and then getting it again at some point in his career, given he stays healthy.

I'm rooting for him to do it, but I'd bet against it. He's got to make 4.2 a game to break the record.
If he doesn't do it this year though, he's got plenty more years in his prime to try. If he manages to stay healthy and play 76+ games a year (big if), he'll probably end up breaking it at some point.

and he creates alot of 3s for himself
He's the best at creating threes since Ray. Ray used to take a lot of threes off the dribble.

Again, we're forgetting that Ray Allen was once upon a time more than just a guy running around screens.
Any1 notice his shot is heavily influenced by his dad's?
Dell's feet would barely leave the floor and same thing with Stephen's.
I would choose curry's shot technique over Ray Allen's.

If he plays every game the rest of the year, he's going to finish with 78 GP, which is how many Ray played in '05-'06 when he set the record. But, at his current clip of 7.5 3P/G, Curry would tie or break the record on about 80 fewer 3PA than Ray. Of course since he needs to average 4.5 made 3's per game over the final 6 games to break the record, he'll likely take 8-10 3P/G if he's really gunning for it. Also, comparing Allen's shooting percentages in the year he broke the record to Curry's this year: Allen shot .454/.412/.903 and .590 TS% and .544 eFG%; Curry's shooting .449/.454/.897 and .587 TS% and .545 eFG%.
Either way, he's had a phenomenal season. Like Ray, he's really made "the jump" in his 4th season. Allen went from averaging 17-4-4-1 in his 3rd season to 22-4-4-1 in his 4th year. I'm just going to combine his last 2 seasons since he only played in 26 games last year, but Curry's gone from averaging 18-4-6-1.5 last year and the year before, to averaging 23-4-7-1.5 this year.
Their numbers are almost eerily similar.
Retrospectively, would Curry have been a better talent and fit for the 2012 US team in London?
I am LOLing at Deron Williams being on that squad and stink in it up

**** what i said.
Curry is at a pace to break Ray Allen's all time record if his ankles hold up.
Ray's record is 269 from the 05-06 season.
Stephen is at: 261 with 2 games left.
Totally realistic he could beat it.
He hit 9 threes against the Lakers last night.

Allen's 2005-06 record: 269 out of 653 (.412) in 78 games(with one game of only 8 minutes of play)
Curry this season: 261 out of 576 (.453) in 76 games with two more games left to play.

Stephen Curry is the best three point shooter of all time to me already, followed closely by Reggie Miller. He's very good at :
- Shooting it off the dribble
- Shooting it off a screen
- Shooting it on a fastbreak (instead of a layup)
- Sudden stop and pullup three (a la Steve Nash)
- Crossover the shit out of you and hit the three (Reggie Miller and Ray Allen couldn't do this)
- Quickest release in the NBA
- Great Range.
Only thing he's yet to prove is how clutch he can be under pressure in a playoff type situation. Miller was the best of all time here.
Stephen Curry is Ray Allen part 2.
Eventually he may lose a step or two but he will still be a great shooter off the bench or starting....as a role player in his 30s.

ESPN on SportsCenter just said Curry and Klay combined for most 3-point made in a single season by teammates.

I heard that as well. Can't believe they out-shot the Ray Allen - Rashard Lewis combo.
Great year for Curry and the Warriors.

272 threes in 600 attempts isn't a lot really.... Thats actually 53 fewing attempts that Ray when Ray was able to get 269
even if it is dont u think u want a 45% three point shooter to shoot more?

If he can take care of that ankle, he can break Allen's 3pt all time record. He's an outstanding shooter.
