I am just messing...Rip probably trolling. At the percentage Kobe was shooting last year it wouldn't look good anyway if he got it. + him resting was the right choice before the playoffs. Had to carry the stupid @ss team through the Nuggets series. In the OKC series we all know Pau quit as did the rest of infidels.

Yeah, scoring 9 points over your average is no big deal. I'm so glad Kobe was gracious enough to sit out the last game and just willingly and graciously hand Durant the scoring title. It's pretty clear to everyone Durant didn't deserve or really earn it.

Totally agree with that part. He has a small percentage of a Shane Battier/Grant Hill/Derek Fisher in him, but it's not authentic. He tries to have this high moral character type persona, but every now and then, you see the hood come out in him. A thug persona off the streets.

No reason he can't do both, this is a regular season scoring title anyway, has nothing to do with the post season.

Winning four back-to-back scoring titles is ridiculously impressive in this day and era. It would be a real shame if he just gave that accomplishment up without giving it his best.

:oldlol: I think the right approach is the one I've seen a number of players take in close scoring races which is not particularly go for them. Play your game, and if you get it, great. But no reason for a guy on a championship contender to gun for one, especially when he has 3 already. I liked that Kobe didn't gun for it on the last season, and Shaq passed on going for extra scoring titles late in the season 3 times. That's the right thing to do, especially when your team is relevant. Changing your approach and stat-padding for something makes the accomplishment less impressive anyway.

But Melo is actually trying to statpad for it, even staying in games to get as high as possible or chucking even more when he is shooting poorly. :oldlol:

I wouldn't mind seeing Durant's powerful statpad skills vs Melo's, only the best padder will win.

This is simply not true. Despite scoring a lot, they weren't even forcing the ball to Melo in the 50 or 40 game, and he was mostly taking good shots within the offense and certainly not dominating the ball. He played just 27 minutes in the Boston game and in the 9 games since his return, he's averaged 31 ppg in 36 mpg. He's not staying in blowouts, and Jr, Felton and Kenyon Martin have all been able to get involved.

Agreed. Kobe actually had to put the ball in the basket over defenders to get his points. Durant got his through ref's gifts. In fact, he got so many gifts from the refs, the NBA decided to change the rule the next season on going up purposely through the defenders hands to draw free throws.

Durant's free throws weren't off the charts or anything in 2012, but this is deceptive because Kobe took 23 FGA while Durant took 19.7 so Durant did get to the line at a much higher rate.

Because he took it to the rim more than Kobe which contradicts that Kobe's fan argument.

I don't see it that way at all. I see a momma's boy who needs to put his mother in check. Imo, she is much too visible and seems to be a overly dominant force in his life.

So, KD's got alpha/beta issues, leading to passive/aggressive behavior. This can clearly be seen in his relationship with RW.

You right Melo should have teamed up with two top 3 players, followed by being carried by the refs because he couldn't cut it even with all the help, due to his epic finals meltdowns.
