View Full Version : How Can You Root Against the Lakers Making the Playoffs?

The Jazz are arguably the most boring team in the league. Would much rather see LA play San Antonio or OKC. No offense to Jazz fans, but odds are it would just be a sweep again. I can legit see LA beating the Spurs. Although, they would probably get raped by OKC.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. The west is way more open than people think. I don't think any team is a lock to beat the other.

I can understand wanting the Lakers in from a marketing standpoint, and I don't think the Jazz are a ratings-magnet...

But objectively speaking, are the Lakers really that exciting? ... Seems like alot of iso, broken plays, and tepid chemistry at best.

I hope they get in and win just so Nash can have a ring. Don't really care about Kobe or anyone else. I've never been a Lakers fan but I would definetly rather have them in than any other non-playoff team.

Plus I still think the Lakers are going to make the WCF's.

We're down to the last handful of games of this abortion of a season for the Lakers and people still think they're capable of winning a playoff series, let alone against the likes of SA or OKC? :confusedshrug:

If the Lakers miss the playoffs, at least their fans and Bean stans can play the 'what if' game and live happily in their delusion. If the Lakers do squeak in somehow, better get those brooms ready.

And to answer the OP's question- I could really care less if the Lakers make it or not, the writing's been on the wall for this team for months now. But it would be funny to see what might just be the most epic failure in NBA history.

Question: When was the last time a Kobe Bryant-led team was swept out of the playoffs?

No matter what, he'll get hot at least one game and shoot the team to victory, you can't deny that much.

If Parker and Ginobili plays hurt (enough to significantly affect their game) come playoff time, i can see the jazz or lakers making the series very competitive. OKC can still catch SA for the top spot though.

MMM
04-08-2013, 04:08 AM
The Jazz will put up more fight in the playoffs than the Lakers can at this point. The Jazz have been better than the Lakers all season except for a stretch of time in early March. The Lakers have had too many injuries and are too worn down to do much of anything in the playoffs. I think the Jazz can upset SAS more so than LAL despite the experience edge the Lakers have had in the past.

LMAO, what kind of ridiculous question is that?:lol
maybe, just maybe some folks are a fans of Utah and Dallas and want to see those teams in the playoffs too? What makes Fakers better than those two franchises? Their rigged championships in the last decade maybe?

Kobe's career might be coming t an end here. Why not. Give the lakers over the jazz in this scenario.

I think it will be funny if Kobe doesn't make the playoffs with that roster considering they were picked to go the finals and had Kobe stans already claiming title # 6 for Kobe:oldlol: but I rather seem them in the playoffs over the Jazz. Jazz are boring as hell as are the lakers but atleat the Lakers have star power:coleman:

I would root for the Lakers to miss the playoffs every year even if the bottom 4 seeds were all Jazz-like teams.

I would sit through Wizards-Bobcats games for weeks if it meant the Lakers were sitting at home when the playoffs came around.

The Jazz have been better than the Lakers all season long. They have no superstars/big names, they just go out and play hard each night. They don't have a $100 mill payroll. They don't have the stupidest and most delusional fan base in the league. They're a bunch of likeable guys. I love watching their young front line of Hayward/Kanter/Favors. I love watching Jamaal Tinsley's streetball passes. It would be a damn shame if the Lakers got in over them, they haven't earned it.

On the other hand, it would be incredibly entertaining to see the Lakers get swept by OKC or SA in the first round while watching Kobe b*tch and cry shooting 40% while blaming everyone except himself.

Or have you forgotten your complete and utter MELTDOWN after Game 1 of the 2010 NBA Finals after Kobe dominated the Celtics and you sensed that #5 was inevitable.
