Against the Hornets. It shouldn't have been close to begin with. Every now and then Kobe gets hot. Most of the time though Kobe just hurts his team with his shooting parties in 4th quarters. I don't get why Americans glorify such non team play. It's not good in the long run.

He gets it done before more often. And if he doesn't he's more of a team player in the 4th quarter which gives his teams higher chances of success rather than just him putting up shots. It's not a good strategy for teams in the long run. It makes for highlights but it's not good.

It'd be better if he played consistently throughout the whole game rather than having a lopsided performance. Relying on a 4th quarter dominance to bail out a team from losing a game against one of the worst teams in the league is not something to be excited about. Come playoff time this kind of performance won't cut it.

This thread is just sad. Why even evoke Lebron's name at this point? The gap between Bean and Bron right now is Grand Canyon wide. One is working on a historically great season and a 4th MVP while the other is getting praised by his stans for doing what Carmelo did in much more impressive fashion just a few hrs earlier... against the Pelicans... in a desperate attempt to get the 8th seed for a team that was a preseason favorite to win it all.

Stop embarrassing yourselves. Especially since dumb threads like this and the stans gloating will just add more fuel to the crow feast in about a week when they're bumped :oldlol:

Friends of ISH:

Now, how do you say it, "that is what I am talking about!"

I was very lucky to have the opportunity to watch this contest between the two best teams in the National Basketball League. As expected, it was very competitive. Yet when the final period came, I had no fear. For I knew that my team (which is the Los Angeles Lakers) were led by the greatest player in the association, and that he would never let us observers down.

My mate, Tafari, was not so confident. Said he, "We need to get the ball to the tall oak Pau Gasol. The wasps have no answer for him."

I raised my hand in a threatening gesture and replied, harshly, "Have you not heard of the Black Mamba?" (I knew he had, for they are actually quite a common nuisance in our village, but that is a story for another day). "He shall come through for us".

And indeed, Kobe "the Black Mamba" Bryant, did just that. Shot after shot in this, the most important game of the season against arguably the best team in the league (which was on a winning streak themselves). Surely, Pau Gasol did not touch the ball and I was fine with that.. I did not walk fourteen miles to the only television in the town to watch Pau Gasol.

Championship #6 is coming for #24 and there's nothing any of you haters can do about it. That is right, I said it.

I was impressed. He had played like absolute ass prior to the 4th qtr, which was inexcusable in itself against the league's 3rd worst defense, but it takes quite a bit of courage and mental toughness to completely turn that around in the 4th qtr, all in your most important game of the season and in a close contest to boot. He came out gunning right off the bat in the 4th. That's fearlessness. You can only imagine the sh!t he would've been receiving had he been cold in the 4th and LA lost....which would've put them well on pace for the most humiliating season in American sport history. From a legit contender to not even making the playoffs in a league where 16 teams make it? That's unfreakingprecedented. Kobe's short-term legacy(at least among harcore basketball fans on the net) would've been a joke. It still could be, but at least they are the 8th seed for now with 3 out of their next 4 @ home.

So there was a lot on the line Kobe for in that 4th qtr. Give credit.

It's amazing what Kobe does to you people

Anyway - despite it not being a great game, I think today is an exemplar of what Kobe and most Laker fans hoped the season would be. The Bigs dominating like they should early on and Kobe bringing it home.

When you think about how easy it can and should be for this team it's frustrating watching them simply not execute...or worse yet...not want to execute. Kobe had to almost completely take himself out of the game for the bigs to develop an offensive rhythm and that isn't healthy. That should come naturally.

Quite sad to gen an exit in the first round at best with such supporting cast.

MWP, Nash, Jordan Hill, Dwight Howard, Pau, Kobe have all missed time this season, how many games did they play with a full team? 5-8?

Maybe they need a good coach, just maybe.

They need to get rid of Dantoni before he wears Kobe into the ground like he did amare. The dude cares nothing for players health just saving his own ass. Kobe was ballin consistently early in the season. Now he is so worn out he can only perform inconsistently. It's only a matter of time with the minutes he is playing before he suffers a major injury.

It is funny that most all-time greats are judged by post-season games but kobe gets praise for regular season games.

It's funny that most all time greats are judged AFTER they are retired in such respect.... go away troll.

when it's Kobe, he needs a good coach. but when it's Lebron, he's just a choker.

It is funny that kobe's statline for tonight is literally an average game from lbj.
This.

Kobe and LeBron fans are both delusional though. :D

Give credit.

he sed after the game that he wanted to "rest" tonight (even on the court) as much as possible cuz of the b2b @blazers, but after 3 quarters he had to go to work.

lbj never scored 24 points in the 4th quarter the last 2 seasons. deal wit it.

Thats because LeBron would have had the game won by the 3rd quarter.

No, because Lechoke. He never comes out to play in the 4th.

Must be why he chose to sit out every 4th quarter of the 2011 finals

Very nice, he is giving it all these last few games, most of those games he played without any rest, i hope he/Lakers get to playoffs, would rather see Lakers (instead of Utah) against Spurs/OKC.

He's been giving it his all for 82 games..

Pauk, you and your subtle back handed compliments are cringe worthy and blatantly obvious
