Best series of the playoff. Glad to be part of this historical thread. Bookmarked. Saved in Documents. Thumbed up. Liked. Re-Tweeted. Buried in time capsule. Will tell story to grandchildren. I know the Spurs have been a great team all year, but for some reason they haven't looked that scary against the Lakers. They're 2-1 against the Lakers, but the Lakers held them to ~85 in two of the games and both of their losses were by one possession.. one without Pau and Dwight, and Sacre+Duhon playing 20+ minutes each :oldlol:

Kinda how I feel, and if Howard can keep Parker away from driving we have a chance on winning this series.

It'll be weird not seeing Kobe out there. I'm so used to seeing him out there killing us.
Spurs in 5. If they go back to playing like earlier in the season. Howard and Gasol are back. But they have nobody after that. If MDA and Kobe played to the strength of their roster they would be playing as the number one team in the west. Duncan will play his ass out. What a tough matchup for him. Splitter played Gasol really well in their last meeting. Pop needs to stay the **** away from a Blair and Bonner line up. Maybe get Baynes in there for some hard fouls on Howard. We know there's gonna be plenty of intentional fouls on Howard. Hopefully its Baynes banging him hard. Nothing dirty of course.
Parker has been coasting. He better play well against Blake. Spurs shooters are gonna have to hit their threes. There will be plenty of chances. Lakers will pack the paint to stop Parker. It all falls on how well Parker plays.
Best series I could hope for. Good Luck diehard Lakers fans. Sorry you guys won't see the second round. LoL nah but for real let's go Spurs.

The Spurs have been going downhill recently, while the Lakers look like they have momentum and things might suddenly click for them, but they have been so incredibly bad for most of the season (it was almost insulting for a team with so much talent) that I would really, really be surprised if they took this one. They seem totally unprepared for the playoffs, particularly defensively.

Spurs should win this in 6.

BUT undeniable that the Lakers have the momentum. And the Spurs have had numerous post-season failings in recent history.

It's going to be an interesting series. Expect the Spurs to win, but wouldn't at all be surprised if LA comes up with the Kobe-less shocker.

Really think the Lakers would have won in 6 with Kobe. Just a perfect match-up for the Lakers if healthy.

Now, I like the Spurs in 5, but would not be shocked to see it go 7....and the Lakers definitely have a fighting chance.

Although Blake has played nicely, the Lakers will really need Nash for a playoff series...and his defensive struggles won't matter nearly as much with Howard and Gasol looking great....and the fact that pringles will play the twin towers probably 42 plus minutes a game each.

Nash back and playing well and this series is going to be so close. No Nash...just don't see how the Lakers do it.

04-18-2013, 12:31 PM
With Kobe out, I hope they win it all then watch Kobe's reaction that he knows he had nothing to do with the Lakers' postseason success.

Pau gets FMVP.

Dwight shows he can play up to his potential.

Steve Blake shows he was held back by Kobe all along.

Will Kobe be on suicide watch? Will MJ grin with a watermelon smile?

Will Kobe stans be on suicide watch?

Why did Kobe have to get injured?:banghead: The Lakers would have been in an excellent position to make it to the WCF with him. They don't have to play OKC, LAC, or MEM until then. Who wouldn't have liked the Lakers' chances to come out of their 4-team group with SAS, DEN, and GSW?

They still have a chance, but it's very slim. I say SAS in 5. LAL have the tools to keep the games close but there's no real finisher with Kobe out and Nash old and injured.

He will lead the Spurs to a championship, Duncan and Pop retire, Parker is traded for a young prospect, and the Spurs build another 10 year dynasty on the very strong back of Tracy McGrady.

Spurs are playing like sht as of late. Their success depends on Parker and Manu's health. With much emphasis on parker. The spurs have limited offensive options and they had that reliable source in tony. They need parker to average at least 20 pts a game in the playoffs for them to become a top contender. Manu's experience, leadership and court presence is enough to make a difference, he doesnt necessarily need to score much.

They do have been playing really bad as of late, I hope its because they stopped caring about the regular season and focused on being healthy in the playoffs. I think everyone except for Diaw will be ready for game 1.

All depends on Nash's heath. If he returns and is above 75%, LA have a definite shot. Without him, they're rendered with spot-up shooters as their major creators off the dribble, and that's just not going to work, no matter how good Howard and Gasol manage to be.

In all honesty, the Lakers should amnesty Kobe. It's time for them to build up for the future. I wouldn't even say they are in the playoffs because of Kobe. The unit the last couple games WITHOUT Kobe is why they are in the playoffs. Those games were the most important ones of the entire season.

CoachBe should take over and lead them to the championship. Then he should get two rings, one for a player and one for a coach.

I don't really care about the pacers hawks game. This is the first game of the day for me.

Spurs vs. the Refs

some pretty blatant fouls on Parker already (not being called)

Spurs got this though. Too much talent for a Kobe-less Lakers.

edit: my bad, just saw the game thread

Dwight with the stupid @ss elbow - kinda a flop. Cmon refs, and Dwight, this ain't the regular season anymore.

Play-making is needed badly.

Since when are touch fouls called on Parker or in the playoffs in general? Lol stop crying.

This Spurs team got nothing on us. NOTHING.

Even with Kobe out. :pimp: :pimp:

Doesn't matter if we lose - Spurs won't go far.

Last time we met the Lakers in the playoffs this no call essentially handed the the series to them. :oldlol:

Nice try but, unfortunately for you, I remember that game. Lakers had a 14 point lead in the first quarter. I'm not a Lakers fan but the only reason that game was close was because the refs brought the Spurs back from the deficit in the first half. Otherwise they would have gotten blown out. I remember before the second quarter, Phil Jackson was asked what brought the Spurs back so close, and Phil Jackson replied "The guys with the whistles"

Lakers going to have problems with Meeks also injured.. So now they have both Meeks and Nash playing hurt and no Kobe in the backcourt.. :wtf:

Lakers couldn't even win when the Spurs shot 37.6% today. Spurs are not going to shoot that bad again so if the Lakers couldn't win that game then how will they win one when the Spurs play better? Spurs in 4 or 5.

Yup. Even with the refs, even with SA shooting 36%, Lakers still lose by double digits. What a garbage team. Probably the worst team in the playoffs.
