That is the Question as I think the CLips will win this series than take out an old and wounded SA team next round but can they beat the OKC Thunder who should get by Denver in Round 2.

That Sucks..for some reason I thougt the Clips were the 3 seed but that will be a HELL of a 2nd round with the winner going to the FInals IMO.

It ultimately comes down to CP3 vs KD. I don't think Clippers have anyone that can slow down Durant. Either Westbrook or Thabo will be checking CP3 all the time!

For some reason TNT showed the Clippers being in a bracket to potentially face San Antonio in the next round.

Clippers have bodies to throw at Durant with Butler & Barnes.

I don't think so. The Thunder play CP3 pretty good this year. Most of the time if you can stop CP3, you'll stop the Clips. But the reason why they will probably lose against the Thunder is because the Clips can't really defend the 3 that well. The Thunder are top 3 in 3s and top 5 at defending the 3.

The Clips are in the bottom 5 at defending the 3. And the Clips kind'a live and die by the 3 at times.

they would need to find a way to stop westbrook. in the regular season matchups he was doing whatever he wanted against paul.

As a Thunder fan I actually think Clips will win in 7.

Westbrook and Paul will cancel each other out, Durant will get his but Clippers will match his production with Crawford+Barnes+Butler.

Now the problem is Griffin, he always destroys Ibaka/Scrubkins and gets all our frontcourt in foul trouble. Clippers have a HUGE advantage with their bigs and bench. Basically...

Paul=Westbrook
Billups/Bledsoe/Barnes>Sefalosha/Reggie/Fisher
Durant>>>Butler
Griffin>>>Ibaka
Jordan>>>>>>>>>>>Perkins
Crawford>Martin
Hollins, Turiaf, Odom> Collison by himself

Durant will have to go absolutely bananas, and Westbrook will have to score like 25+ on top of guarding Paul, Bledsoe, Crawford. Their impact has to outweigh Griffin/Jordan destroying our frontcourt and Clips bench outplaying ours. You have to take into account genius Brooks plays Perkins and Fisher over 10 minutes a game, that right there giftsClippers 4-5 extra fouls, extra possesions and easy points for whoever those 2 are guarding. :oldlol:

yes they can but the thunder definitely has the upper hand. KD and Westbrook is too much for any team not named heat

Use a combination of Odom/Butler/Barnes to mark Durant.

As for westbrook, CP3 is a good enough defender to stop him at the perimeter. If he penetrates, Jordan/Griffin can put enough pressure to force a bad shot.

The OKC - Clippers series will be decided by the bench. Clippers have a better one and if they show up they can win it

The Clippers have really forced me to change my opinion of them lately. I still hate the way they flop around, but they play great team ball and this team is a major threat to come out of the West this year.

I would still put money on OKC winning a series against the Clips, but I'd be surprised if it didn't go to 6-7 games.

When a team has a player the talent of Durant, the game won't be decided on the bench.

It really depends if Vinny is smart enough to play Bledsoe enough to match his stupid athleticism against stupid athleticism in Russ. Its really the only way Clippers have any hope of stopping Swagbrook. CP3 has issues with super quick PGs. Billups is almost at a disadvantage in this series.

The Clipper Bench will have to play a big role as well.

26.0 pts and 8.3 assists this year vs clippers

on the other side, cp3 only 17.5 pts and 8.5 assists

Playoffs are different, in 2011-2012 season Clippers owned OKC and Westbrook/Durant struggled against them. Doesn't mean anything in a 7 game series.

Westbrook won't "destroy" CP3, they will just cancel each other out. They are the 1A/1B in the league as far as elite PGs go. Parker is in that conversation but hasn't been the same since the injury.

i think its very realistic. the clippers have so much depth at every position and the thunders bench is pretty weak.

i don't think they will cancel each other out, it's the key matchup of the series, whoever wins it will win his team the series.

don't forget that last year, westbrook wasn't as good as this year, chris paul struggles against quicker pg, if memphis took their series to 7 games, with their grind-out style, cps won't have enough in the tank to stay in front westbrook.

Toughest matchup for Clippers is the obvious one, Durant. Clippers have some nice wingmen, but none of them are any match for Durant. What it will come down to is how well Clippers can run their team and help defense. Durant will be doubled often, and Clippers need to have their rotations down perfectly.

I think its possible, but still a uphill battle. Clippers look good against a Memphis team who has trouble manufacturing points. OKC is a lot different than Memphis. They play a similar game as Clippers, but better.

Griffin is the Clippers Xfactor. He needs to have a huge series. Got to make OKC bigs work and get into foul trouble. OKC will be doubling CP3 a lot, Griff will need to step up when he gets single coverage.

No, the Clippers can't beat OKC. Look at the games the played vs eachother this year. Westbrook and Sefolosha limited CP3 with Ibaka/Perkins limiting Griffin and lob city.

Really Westbrook >>>> Chris Paul when they went head to head this year and of course the Clips had no answer for Kevin Durant.

They quite well could.. they always give us a tough game.. but I think we have the edge. I'd give it a 60 (OKC)/40 (Clippers) chance.
