Seriously, though, if there was any good result from that game its that Melo has to understand he can't shoot his team to a loss this way. If he's not feeling it, then pass the freakin ball. Felton should have had at least 10 of those shots.

Plus, if the suspension helps JR to keep his head on straight, its all good for the Knicks -- provided they close things out on Wed.

This is the bad thing about being an elite scorer. If you score and your team wins, people ride your jock all day. If you score and your team loses, people say you took too many shots.

Kobe experienced it. Allen Iverson experienced it. Now it's Melo's turn.

Even elite scorers can't shoot 10-35. Its one thing to have a prime scorer's mentality. Its another thing to keep on shooting when you clearly don't have it, and cost your team a win.

Just pass the damn ball. Melo had passing good options -- post up, draw the double, then find Felton or Kidd for three. Shumpert was knocking down some jumpers as well.

This is about Melo's judgment, not the downfalls of being an elite scorer.

I read one Kobe stan actually say something pretty noteworthy not too long ago. He said that Carmelo is actually what Lebron stans try to say Kobe is. For all of the criticism Kobe gets for "chucking" he's yet going to get you 4-6 apg along the way. Offensively speaking, Melo is basically just a scorer.

How about being a smart "elite" scorer. If you are having an abysmal shooting night, start feeding the hot hand and grabbing boards and doing all the little things to help your team win. Just play with in the flow of the type of game you are having and the type of game your teammates are having. That's basketball iq, adapting to what is given to you. Melo shot them out of the game late and was playing some really low iq ball.

Melo is a bit like iverson in terms of shooting percentage but also very productive. Iverson shot strategically. E.g. see his 2 big men crowding in the paint in transition for example..its going up. See his big men having deep position? its going up. Half the time the big guys will clean it up rather then shooting while none of his guys are close to the paint.

He will surpass Kobe's missed FG. Book it.

At least Kobe leads to SOME positive offensive plays through facilitating on those horrid shooting nights. 4-5 assists.

Melo has repeatedly been giving out 1 assist per game, WHILE shooting 37% from the field and 26% from 3, despite Felton and Shumpert having good shooting performances in this post season.

That, is the reason why he's not as great as people attempt to make him. Not because he takes alot of shots. SOMEONE has to take the tough shots, whether Melo, Kobe, Bron, ect.

No, it's because despite him having a HORRIBLE post season performance shooting the ball, he is unable to facilitate for his other teammates like Bron, KD, Kobe, Wade, and Westbrook can. He cannot affect or impact the game unless he's shooting (a solid portion of his rebounds comes from missed layups he commits).

That's why Melo is good, not great. That's why some people around here get on him and Knicks fans when they try to sell to us he's in the same category as say KD.

KD at 24 is better than any version of Carmelo Anthony.

He's a pretty capable playmaker when he is put into that position better than Durant but worse than Kobe or Wade. So i wouldn't say he is unable to facilitate but its really not in the Knicks gameplan for Melo to be running the offence they have Felton Kidd and Prigioni to do that. Melo passing more could of helped the Knicks but its not the main thing thats holding him back. Its the long isos and and is inability to get easy baskets that holds him back from reaching the next level. Melo is a terrible finisher and terrible fast break player it kills his efficiency Durant and Lebron are the complete opposite. The other thing that hurts Melo is his durability and consistency when both Durant and Melo are at there best there pretty equal but Durant barely ever has any bad games.

Gotta pad those rebounding stats.

Dude often stands there putting up 3 or 4 misses in a row at the rim and just gets his own rebound each time. Finally it either goes in or a defender corrals it.
