I'd take Miami in six. Tough battle, but I like Miami's advantage on the perimeter over Memphis on the inside.

Grizzlies would be another sacrificial animal for the Heat if they did.

As much as I love the Grizzlies, they need a shooter. Their perimeter offense is LACKING.

If they get to the Finals, Marc and Z-Bo are going to be very tired from fighting through triple/quadruple team defense..

Grizzlies beat the Heat easily at home.. the shooters got hot. In Miami it was close until LeBron hit a 3 late in the 4th.. but a lot has changed since then.

Grizzlies fight to the death.. and I think the Clippers realised it in the middle of game 3, and things got really chippy and they kept fouling. It was like they realised.. win or lose.. that Grizzlies won't lie down and will keep fighting and from that moment on.. the series has changed and Grizzlies have had 3 comfortable wins.

It'd be a good series but gotta get there first. And Heat have so many shooters, plus good D, plus LeBron.

No one on the Grizzlies can guard Lebraahn jaayyynn

But the Grizzlies will give the Heat trouble with Zach and Gasol.

Spurs on the other hand have a realistic chance at beating the heat and winning it all this year.

So it's either Heat-Grizzlies or Heat-Spurs.

Both series will be at least 6 games

Grizzlies wouldn't be able to win that series versus Miami without someone on the perimeter that can hit some threes, because you know Miami would be doubling the **** out of ZBo and Marc.

I really wouldn't want to see that series, honestly. Bosh and Battier would flop against ZBo in the post, and I foresee the refs not allowing the Grizzlies to play their physical brand of basketball.

Rather see the Spurs make it to the Finals. They can play fast or slow, and their ball movement would be crucial.

I said this early in the season when the Memphis bigs dismantled our front court. They're the only team I can see beating Miami in a series.

We had Melo playing at the 4 and they just beasted on us, got us in early foul trouble and then did whatever they want. You're going to have to have Bosh on one of the 2, and that's not good for Miami.

The Grizzlies probably match-up better with the Heat than any team in the league. They've got the best frontcourt in the NBA, and are probably the team that best exploit Miami's smallball lineup. However, I don't think they'd be able to score enough to beat the Heat. I mean even if the controlled the tempo, I still the games being of the 94-87 variety. Miami's just too explosive offensively to consistently hold to under 90 points and I'm not sure the Grizz have the firepower on offense to keep up.

I was thinking about this earlier. Do you know how scary and unbeatable Memphis would be if they had someone like Durant or Carmelo filling the SF hole? I know that's going to the extreme with two of the best scorers and players in the league, but that team would be unfairly good.

Well you did have a poor man's Melo/Durant in Rudy Gay, but maybe someone a tier between them, someone Paul Georgeish?

Good post and I agree but even if Grizz had Rudy Gay still they would be The favorites out West and Would be a nightmare matchup for Miami to win without playing their very best.

He did a good job on Lebron when he was with the Cavaliers.

The current Lebron has improved alot and he now has a post up game.

Tony Allen is 6'4'' so Lebron is gonna destroy him in the post

Yea shit, Grizz has Tony Allen and Tayshaun Prince, which are both very long and good defensively which can help slow down both Wade and James.

It seems like its been an even series since 2010. I'd be happy with either Spurs or Grizzlies facing the Heat just not OKC or GSW, as much as I like Curry..

Best finals would be healthy spurs vs heat. it will be 50-50 in my opinion. first finals for more than a decade where both teams move the ball so well. I hope timmy wins another ring and may be a finals mvp.

Grizzles have the size but lack the shooters and a go to perimeter scorer. They would give miami some issues though due to their size.

NBA Finals have become way too predictable that all you gotta do is ask yourself which team has a Finals MVP candidate. For the Grizzlies, it's Randolph, Gasol, Conley? I don't know about you guys but to me it'd be weird seeing any of those 3 guys as a Finals MVP.

Besides 2004 Billups, every single championship team since the 80's has had players fit the "Finals MVP" bill. 2006 Wade was surprising at first but obviously he has gained a Hall of Famer career after that first title.

Champions become tougher when they have to play and win hard series. Everyone thought OKC would beat up on Miami (most people) but Lebron showed up Durant and Miami won in the end. Can't be champions by p1ssing in the wind

While agree they are strong in the Heat's main weakness they don't score enough. The Heat are too fast, too disciplined and smart. The Clipper's confuse the Grizz, the Heat will do it more frequently, but it would be a good series.

Both Gasol and Randolph can't stand around in the posts like they do with the clippers. Defending no jumpshot Griffin and Blake is a lot different to defending Bosh, Haslem (he has a good jump shot 12-17feet), Anderson (similar to Haslem).

Spurs and Memphis both provide the most problems for Miami. Both have big men who can score and play defense. But what sets Memphis apart is not just their size and scoring down low. They have elite perimeter defenders. They're like the Bulls on steroids out West. If the Heat struggle with the Bulls, they will have problems with Memphis. Throw Conley on Wade, Allen on LeBron, ask them to frustrate them ... and make Mario Chalmers, Chris Bosh, and Shane Battier beat you.

pegasus

If the refs allow them to play their physical brand of basketball, all of the games would be close. Miami would still win because they're just ridiculously stacked.

If I were their coach, I'd have Allen and Pierce play Lebron 1-on-1 and see what happens. He's not gonna average 40 points a game, and it'd psychologically mess him up if he couldn't get his usual 7-8 assists.:lol

Me neither. Grizzlies would get no calls whatsoever, and Gasol/Randolph would continuously get into early foul trouble from the refs.

Putting Allen on Lebron is not a good idea. Lebron personally took out KD, PP, Melo, Granger last year on his way to the PO. Now you going to put a small guard on him? The dude is going to get backed down and sent flying then you double lebron and ray/battier hits you with the 3.

Miami would just swarm the front court and force them into turnovers. Memphis doesn't have the shooters

secund2nun

They would be a good matchup but they have no outside shooting at all. Heck they don't even have any slashing. Miami would just pack the paint against the Memphis big men to stop the post game. Also they have no bench while Miami has a great bench and Miami has home court advantage.
