so who is gonna win titles when lebron and the heat have peaked?
are the thunder are gonna win like 5 in a row once lebron is gone?
people are so short sighted. 5 years from now there will be some team, featuring some stars, that came to together unexpectedly, will contend, and nobody could predict that team.
5 years ago, everybody was convinced that the blazers would be contenders, it looked like they have a cant-miss title contender in the making. shit happens.
5 years ago, who had the heat as champions (possible repeat champs)? who had the thunder as title contenders? the spurs to still be hanging around?
the grizzlies for sake? who thought that they would be a top west team 5 years ago? maybe if you saw rudy gay becoming a real star? that would have seemed more feasible that the grizzlies being led by (at the time) a cancer in z-bo, pau's fat, secound round draft pick brother, and some solid perimeter defenders? i would have called you batshit insane for predicting them to become the team that they are today.
point is, the nba is far harder to predict than people like to think.

Kobe has been a member of 5 championships but I hope no more for him.
He wants to win 6 and even 7 to match or 1 up Jordan.
He hopes history will revise itself for the future as he hopes that future fans will forget that his team was loaded with talent that includes elite big men like Shaq, Pau, and Dwight (to lesser extent)

If rings mattered Kaj = MJ
But it doesn't FMVP matters. Thus even if Kobe got 6 no one will say he is close to MJ. He like KAJ may get same rings but unlike KAJ he won't get as many MVPS Kaj got 6!) or FMVPS like MJ so no one will ever believe Kobe is in the same league as MJ.

yeah i ment to throw that one in there too.
even at the start of those playoffs, when he was 32, it wasnt a crazy thing to say, that he would never win a ring.
and then two months later, if you said that, you would be completely wrong.
but then guys in this thread, think predicting the next 5, 10 years of a players career, is no big deal. predicting 6 months ahead, for dirks career, back in 2011, was pretty much impossible.

Any all star can win a ring at the end of his career by ring chasing like Payton
And any all star can win a title as the 2nd option with a dominat player (Terry was the 2nd option in 2011!)
The only question we can respond is players that will never win a ring as the main star
I'd say every player but Lebron, Durant, maybe Irving and Rose. (Kobe, Duncan, Garnett and Dirk being past their prime)
