Two things:

1) Westbrook really was holding back Durant. They need to trade him for Rondo to unleash the real KD.
2) Why wasn't Allen guarding KD? Prince is past his prime and can't guard KD.

He's a manufactured superstar and is nothing without the refs.

He's just a taller Reggie Miller.

He's a one-dimensional scorer who can't do anything else.

He's way too reliant on Westbrook because Westbrook is OKC's best player.

etc. etc.

While Allen would probably make things tougher on Durant, there's a 6-7 inch height difference there.

1) Westbrook actually helps Durant. OKC and Durant absolutely need Durant. There is so much pressure on Durant and the bench to perform without Westbrook.

2) PRince has good length to both KD. Tony Allen is only 6'4 and KD can just shoot over him. Allen does pretty well on KD but I think they rather have Prince as the primary defender.

While Allen would probably make things tougher on Durant, there's a 6-7 inch height difference there.

Hollins should have put Allen on KD for at least one or two possessions to see if it would make a difference. Prince was a great defensive player 5+ years ago but he is mis-matched against KD.

2) PRince has good length to both KD. Tony Allen is only 6'4 and KD can just shoot over him.

KD was shooting right over Prince all night long so the height difference is not an issue. Allen at least would be playing physical D which could potentially disrupt KD's rhythm. Should have guarded KD for at least one or two possessions.

2nd best player in the NBA, and he's not that far from lebron (not implying that he will ever be better, just saying hes quite good). He was average after all star break, but he always level his game up an notch in the playoffs and that's what I really like about the guy. He's been playing phenomenal without Westbrook.

That really was an incredible performance, despite Ibaka's and Perkins' best efforts to throw away the game.

For some reason, Durant is criminally underrated in this board. He is a better player than Melo in virtually all facets of the game and is by far the second best player in the world. Yes, some of his FTs are BS, but you don't average the numbers he puts up with just FT shooting.

KD absolutely wrecks this squad in the playoffs, who are now the favorites, hitting 6 of OKC's last 7 shots, including the game winner. On 35 points, adding in 15 rebounds and 6 assists and ESPN will just shrug this shit off.

ESPN will shrugh off 35 15 6 because just last year LeBron posted a 45 15 5, so while Durant's line is indeed amazing, it is not otherworldly.

I agree though, Durant is not hyped enough by the media.

Both of them did it against great defensive teams as well. Boston was the second best defensive team last season and Memphis is the best defensive team this season.

To insecure to give Kd his due so they gotta go & hate on Kobe?

Anyways, great game, great showing by Durant, I can't believe this isn't getting more attention from the media, I was just watching ESPN for 20 minutes and they didn't say a word about it and it wasn't even on the ticker or any of the up coming stories..

They're all over the Knicks/Pacers game, though. Durant has an unforgettable playoff performance, goes 6/8 from the field in the last 7+ minutes of the fourth, assisted on 2 or 3 other buckets (and another that led to a foul and FT's for Jackson), and hits a go-ahead shot with 11 seconds to go...AND finishes with a 35-15-6-2-1 13/26 FG stat-line.

If LeBron did that in a playoff game without Wade, ESPN would be losing their shit the rest of the day and all day tomorrow.

He's a very good player but his genetic makeup isn't that of a legend.
