Yeah, there is definitely some hype with Popvich. A bit like Bill Bellichek in that his team is always one of the top five teams in the leauge, but he never has enough to get over the hump since his star has entered the decline years of his prime.

Pop is one of the greatest coaches of all time.

That being said he is certainly not flawless. He can be very stubborn about rotations, minutes, and playing rookies.

Examples? Matt Bonner still being on the team and getting minutes. Not playing Splitter as a starter till this year. Not playing George Hill enough during his early years here. Playing Blair and Bonner together at the same time.
