Man if LeBron was complaining about Hinrich wrapping his arms around him to stop him and calling that non basketball play, imagine what the bad boy pistons would do to him :lol

Nice, should be a good watch. Of the teams to beat Jordan's Bulls in the playoffs, they did so the most:

3xDetroit (88 ECSF, 89 ECF, 90 ECF)
2xBoston (86 East First Round, 87 East First Round)
Milwaukee (85 East First Round)
Orlando (95 ECSF)

Great team.

The Detroit Pistons Bad Boys 30 for 30 now has a debut date - Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 8pm.

It will air at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, on ESPN, according to Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated, who also says it has the potential to be one of the best documentaries under the “30 for 30” name yet.

“More than 40 people were interviewed for the film, including the Pistons' main principals (Isiah Thomas, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, Joe Dumars, Adrian Dantley. Vinnie Johnson, John Salley, Mark Aguirre etc. ...) and rival Michael Jordan. Following the film, ESPN will air a one-hour discussion from 10-11 p.m. ET on the Bad Boys Pistons era. That show will be hosted by Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose, and ESPN NBA analyst Doug Collins will also appear along with several Pistons players from that era.http://www.freep.com/article/20140310/SPORTS03/303100029/detroit-pistons-bad-boys-espn-films

30 for 30 was ruined for me when they took ten years to get them all out. It's no longer 30 for 30. The original thing was 30 stories for 30 years but it's been well over 30 years now.

It was originally '30 specific days, 30 stories'. Then once it blew up they did more and kept the name. It's not like some cutback in quality or integrity.

I'll be interested to hear Adrian Dantley's take on matters. Cameron Stauth's book The Franchise reported that Dantley believed Isiah Thomas was responsible for his trade to Dallas. Apparently when Adrian played against the Pistons for the first time post-trade, Thomas and Dantley shook hands at midcourt, appearing to squash the beef. However, Dantley actually leaned in and said, "I'll never forgive you for this."

Some more fun facts about the upcoming doc:

-The Bad Boys Pistons were the first team to give NBA Entertainment special access such as live sound in the huddles, training-room entry and cameras on bus rides and at hotels.

"The behind the scenes of the 1989 and 1990 Finals are incredible," says Dion Concoros, an executive producer of the film.

-The only two subjects the filmmakers wanted who declined (as of now) interviews were Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. But the two Hall of Famers will be part of archival footage.

-The film (directed by Zak Levitt) will air as a two-hour broadcast (100 minutes without commercials) and includes a synopsis of Detroit's cultural landscape leading up to the 1980s.

-Something NBA fans will be excited about, according to Cocoros, is Thomas' talking about Bird's famous steal in Game 5 of the 1987 Eastern Conference finals. That story has been documented often from the Celtics' side, but rarely have viewers heard from Thomas and other Detroit players about it.

"Isiah lives and breathes this stuff," Cocoros said. "His memory and recollection on how things went down and what he knows about this team is amazing."

-Cocoros said he discovered never-before-seen footage of the team inside the locker room before and after games, as well as compelling footage of Daly's huddles.

This is going to be great. I can't wait.

For all the credit we want to give to Bird, Magic and Michael, Isaiah deserves so much respect for being the leader of the team that beat all of them to win 2 championships. The value of those Pistons rings should trump most chips.

This has definitely gotten my attention. Tough, rugged team that shuts down two dynasties and holds off another. A team that is overlooked and unappreciated. A team that relied on defense and rebounding in an era known for offensive wizardry. A team that used intimidation to its advantage. And most of all, a team that has never really had their say about the niche they carved out in NBA History.

I'm very much looking forward to this.

The Pistons are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Bad Boys' first championship tonight. Perhaps Josh Smith can incite a brawl against Miami, for old times' sake.

[I]The old adage has always been that it takes talent to win in professional basketball. Go back through time and look at any championship team and you will find an amazing amount of talent on that squad. But talent alone does not win in the NBA. Indeed, if such were the case, the 2000 Portland Trail Blazers and 2002 Sacramento Kings would be the proud owners of championship rings.

It takes talent yes, but also equally important is willpower. Often times, a group with a bunch of talented players can want to win, but not do enough to get there.

Going all the way might mean imposing your style of play on your opponent or simply completely taking another team out of what they wish to accomplish.

Hence, when we look at past NBA champions, we see talented teams; but also we see extremely mentally tough teams.

If there is one team that exemplifies these traits best, it has to be the Bad Boys Pistons.

In his book Playing For Keeps, David Halebrstam states:
